  1. We are thinking of going back to the US in the middle of October. Anyone know how long it usually takes to get a passport processed and mailed from the embassy?
  2. Just wanted to tell everyone that my wife got her visa last Friday on April 20th. They didn't look at a single document and only asked about five softball questions. When the interview was over they handed my wife all the evidence that I submitted with the I-130 and all photos. We are now waiting for the visa to arrive in the mail by EMS.
  3. I was double checking what my wife will need to turn in on the first day at the embassy along with the white books, and I-864 and my joint-sponsor's I-864, W2 (last three years), and tax returns (last three years). I also have my joint-sponsor's pay stubs last six months. Only thing I'm missing is my joint-sponsor's bank statements. If this a big no no? Should I be worried?
  4. tomorrow, around 11 am. We'll stay with some friends while we are there.

  5. So when are you leaving for GUZ?

  6. Well I got all my documents together and organized for my wife's interview Friday. But feeling really nervous. I guess I keep having this nagging feeling that somewhere out there is a Blue Slip of paper with my name on it (well not my name, but figuratively speaking). I think I have solid evidence for relationship. Things I included are: * two copies of notarized translations of last two apartment contacts showing joint residence for the last two years * Three copies of Sworn affidavits from my mother, father and sister testify to our marriage and relationship * Photographs of me and my wife together with family and friend over the last three years (about 89 pictures) *One copy of my Evolution of Relationship letter detailing our ongoing relationship together * One copy Copies of Airline tickets when we both traveled to my home in the US * Copies Greeting Cards and accompanying envelopes from my family congratulating us on our marriage. * Copies of my bank accounts over the last three years showing my banking activity in China * Copy of a newspaper from my home town announcing our marriage. i also have to worry about domicile since I DCF and have been living in china for the past three years. For domicile I included: *Proof that I paid taxes on my car last year. *Bank transcripts showing that I've been using my Bank of American account for the last three years. *My acceptance letter from Suzhou University, showing that I came to China to study as a student *My Chinese language studies certificate issued by Suzhou University. *Medical report from 2009 showing that I was registered as a student. *Expired student visa *Voter registration card *Valid Drivers license *Mail sent to me from my American addresses form the last few years. *Also, the address that I will live is also the address of my co-sponsor I also have my financial information and my co-sponsor's information (my parents are my co-sponsors: *My I-864 and tax returns from last three years (unfortunately I don't make enough to qualify so I have to use a co-sponsor) *My Dads I-864, tax returns, W2 and copies of paycheck from the last six months. *My Mom's I-864A with her tax returns and W2. Keep feeling like I'm not doing something right. I guess I'm just nervous, but feel like i don't have everything I need even though I can't think of anything else that I already have. I guess I'm just venting.
  7. Yes, your correct. I asked the VO what address they use, and he told me that they use that address for mailing the EMS package since it is in Chinese characters. The EMS guys have a really hard time figuring out Pinyin addresses. If you put your parent's address then they will be the ones to receive it.
  8. Any luck with the interview? Hope everything went well.

  9. No, the Beijing embassy will not notify you even though you submitted a form for electronic notification. They just ignore those. You have to email the Beijing embassy yourself, and give your passport number. They will confirm if your I-130 was approved or not. The P3 will be sent to the address you wrote in Chinese on the second page of the I-130. Generally takes about three weeks to get approval and another couple of weeks to get the P3.
  10. I'm surprised how fast the whole thing took. I'm not finished yet, but it seems it was a short wait to get to the actual interview. All that I can think is that I front loaded the I-130, and we didn't have any red flags to slow things down. Also, I sent my I-864 and my co-sponsor's I-864 along with supporting documents with packet 3. I know the instructions say not to, but I heard from Beachey that its a good idea to send copies. The worst that can happen is they throw the documents away. Someone who helped me to get my wife's travel visa told us that getting the travel visa first before filling the I-130 makes the process go by relatively faster. Said it establishes a clean recorded with the embassy, and gives the embassy worker an idea of my wife's true intentions regarding her desire to immigrate. Don't know if its true, but I've had a few people I've met that worked at different embassies in Beijing say the same thing.
  11. Got the interview date today by EMS. May 19th is the day.
  12. I just got my letter from Guangzhou embassy telling me my wife's interview date. It will be May 19th on a Thursday. It only took 16 days from the day I sent the P3 to the embassy to get the letter. Guangzhou is going really fast this year.
  13. No, not yet. Its been about 14 days since the embassy received it. I think its been enough time so I'm going to email the embassy and ask, but I expect the letter to come around May 10th.

  14. Hey, did you get notice of the interview yet?
