  3. No one should solicite the services of an attorney to file the visa petition. It's a waste of money and delays the process even further. If any USC is aware of CFL and Visa Journey, there is a wealth of resources and good people to get the petitoner through this process without difficulty. My atty was worth the price just to have someone review everything before it was submitted. He did far more than than. He saved me tons of time and stress and, being Chinese, he was able to answer all of Ling's questions without any of us worry about what might have been lost in the translation. It was a tremendous relief for Ling to be able to email him directly and get the info she needed. Check our timeline. It seems to have gone as well as most and better than many. Was he necessary? Of course not but neither are most of the other "necessities" we all spend money on every day.
  4. If you read all of TB's posts, it seems he's gone though A LOT to get this far. If the whole thing was a scam, he's certainly putting in a lot of effort for this scam. How many Americans (outside of CFL and VJ) really understand the intricacy and technicalities of this whole visa process? I'd wager NONE. Yeah, well, the reason I say it is a scam IS because I've read all TB's posts. yup

  7. We bought a 10-cup Chinese model at the local Asian supermarket for $29.95. It works fine, Ling uses it every day.

  12. Our pink came on an odd numbered day.
  13. It's not really a hotel. They rent out housing units owned by Mrs. Yang's aunt as well as additional vacant units that are for sale. It wasn't 5-star but they cleaned every day and were extremely accomodating and helpful. The Yang's were exactly what I needed to get me through the first few days before Ling arrived. They were also very helpful guiding us both to all of the right places at the right times.
  14. I was married to a licensed naturopathic physician....been there, done that.
  15. Ling too, is always impressed by all the old houses in Portland. She also got excited when I pointed out a group of 70-80 year old cars driving by one day.
  16. yes, at some as yet to be disclosed distant future date......
  17. Oh, I didn't mention, we were also asked for W2's. Only one small problem, I've been self-employed for 21+ years. I've not received a W2 since 1986. And this information is easily discerned by looking at my damn tax returns I've just resent. Of course I had to explain all of that to try and reduce the chances of getting RFE'd again for W2's........ Sometimes they just do not even look at the information in front of them ,I am sure they must have a check list to follow which maybe does not contain an allowance for self employed people ( really I do not believe that ) what happened is that your reviewer is either use this as your check list 1. Lazy 2. incompendent 3. over worked 4. a moron 5 All of the above 5
  18. G-28 and I-864. Ling's Biometric's appointment is next Friday morning.

  20. Mine went to Nebraska and now I'm being asked to send this repeat info to Missouri. Guess we've been transferred to the slow track too.
  21. You misread. I said current along WITH 2005, 2004, 2003. They got the most current as well as the three previous. They only asked for 2006. They received 2003, 2004, 2005, AND 2006. 2006 was the actual return. The other three were IRS Transcripts.
  22. So today Ling received a pink letter from the Department of Homeland Security titled: Request for Initial Evidence (I-485) The letter says they cannot process her application until they receive W-2's and my Federal Income Tax Return. I assume they mean the current Federal Income Tax Return--you know the same one I already freakin' sent along with my 2005, 2004 & 2003 returns! I made another set of copies; included a copy of the original cover letter that also listed the same returns; added a copy of the pink letter Ling received today; attached all to a new cover letter explaining everything and listing everything attached. I also pointed out that my income (as documented by the I.R.S.) was many multiples of the minimum requirement to sponsor and immigration and that if they had any other questions to please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx. I'll mail it all first thing in the morning and not hold my breath for a speedy or coherent reply.............
