  13. The consulate issued the 1-year visa. But when she arrived customs allowed her to stay 6 months. She could have gone back to China and returned for another 6 months or we could have requested an extension. Tine
  14. Ken, It is not required, I sent one for my mother-in-law before her interview. Tine
  15. Hank, I think your stepson will do well here in US schools. This will be Kelly's 4th year here and will start Jr.Hi in a few weeks. See was a little shy at first but now you can't her to shut up. She hardley has any accent now. See is A-B student and excels in math and english. First year here they worked with english 30 min. each day and after that she was tested and was up to speed or above average in reading and comp. Tine

  17. My wife and daughter will apply for USC this Sept. At that time they both want to change their names, my wife is changing her first name from Yi to Ella and my stepdaughter is changing her first name keeping her last name as middle name and wants to take my last name. And can be done for free when they become USC. Tine
  18. Back on Aug.28 2005 I posted letters and items needed for the B-2 visa for my mother-in-law to visit us. Maybe since so many here are trying to get the B-2 visa it might help. If someone in Admin. could pin this for awhile it may help. Tine

  20. I will be traveling to Toronto 6 June for a meeting and taking the family. I will let everyone know how it goes when I return. Tine
  21. Pusbrk, I don't think he has ever looked at any stats. How can you speak for him.Can you show me any stats that there is any more visa fraud from K-1 applicant than K-3. I will quote him "I THINK the K-1 is used more by people commiting visa fraud-therefore looked a bit more closely." Tine
  22. 1. I am offended my mcoon's comment about K1 being used for commiting visa fraud. Just because you get married first does not mean it not fraud. 2. I you think about it blue slips K-1 vs K-3. I think I have seen more K-3s get blue slipped than K-1. Dave, do what is right for you and your SO. You can get your loved one here in about the same time. Get married here or there, whatever you want, you don't need an atty.
  23. Darrell. Great news you in-laws getting their visitors visa, I hope our info helped. Tine & Ella
