After Ella obtained her citizenship all that was required to be sent in with the rest of the paper work was a copy of the divorce paper stating that she had sole custody of my step daughter. Now adopted.Had to send passport back for name change. No problems except they sent back 10 yr GC. Had to call USCIS and they told me to keep in a safe place. Tine

Carl, When Ella got Chinese visa for US passport. They gave her chinese passport back with a hole punched in it so it was void. That was in Chicago. Tine

Congratulations Lee on wifes 10 year GC !!!! Did you adopt your step-son ? I think that is the only way a step-child would fall under the Child Citizenship ACT. Because one parent must be USC or be Naturalized Citizen. I don't think step-parent counts. Tine

Tom, Here in Indianapolis they required tax transcripts. And they asked for the 2 letters of reference of bonified relationship. I had one from my father and his wife and one from a co-worker that knows us well. That was last May. Tine
