  1. 68 Born in Dec 1949 makes it easy to remember my age... 50 at year 2000. Thanks again, all you old codgers. hmmm.... mebbe I am a geezer... well, except for that Barry White part... Urban dictionary claims that "Codger" is drevitave of coffin dodger. "Coot" they claim is a foolish old man. geezer is a descriptive word in the UK which is used to define a mans characteristics. A geezer will be found usually out side a pub with a pint in his hand on match day. They commonly like football, scrapping, beer, tea, tits, and Barry white. Celebrated by getting my Ratrod back from the mechanic who had it the last 4 months. Runs like a well-oiled sewing maching now... http://i68.tinypic.com/4hbc5t.jpg woohoo!
  2. That was great. Very funny, Randy. Everyone got a hoot outta that. Thanks for the B'day wish Tom and Larry. Ya know, for some reason every year I grow older so does everyone else. I think I'm still just a coot, but maybe closing in on codger, but certainly still not reached geezer status yet.
  3. I started watching, but quickly decided there wasn't anything new... rehashing a story that's been told and retold often and most often to the ears of those who seem to be deaf to this part of our history. It's just a painful part of our history whose lesson is lost on those in power and that's the most painful part.
  4. If I were facing death, I might see many things as insignificant... knowing that CFL will live on, regardless, might be one of those. Proof is what Randy and the team has undertaken to allow the site to carry on.
  5. I am truly, deeply saddened to hear this news. Words cannot express my sorrow. Does anyone know what Bing's plans are?
  6. Your survey is in English. So, I suppose you're targeting only Chinese residing in the US who are fluent in both speaking and reading English; otherwise, the survey should be in Chinese.
  7. There's truth to that. Red flags to IO: Quick divorce and a rush to marry a younger woman. Give yourself a year, visit often maybe stay for an extended time... all will add weight to your relationship.
  8. Hi Catie, First of all "Stewardess" is an outdated title. Today they're called Flight Attendant. In fact, most gender defining terms ending with ess are now considered passe. Here's a link from Delta Airlines regarding Flight Attendant. http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/about-delta/business-programs/training-and-consulting-services/flight-attendant-training.html Best wishes.
  9. Here is my take on it. FWIW. 1. A lot of us are 2 to 3 time losers (my last wife died of cancer) and have been told in various places that Chinese women will stick tighter. that depends on the individual woman. I wouldn't call you a loser if you were a widower. 2. Beautiful women, no matter the country are HIGH maintenance and usually hard to keep out of someone's else s poot sack. As many hansom smooth talking men are always going to be hitting on them ALL the time. I was on a millionaires web sight once that catered to millionaire men looking for a wife. Not the kind that you see on the TV. One of the most beautiful girls with MANY demands was talking with one that she though she had hooked. She was all about how beautiful she was and how that would help him in his private and public affairs. He simply ask her " My money will increase several times over in my lifetime. How many years will your beauty last. Many start to diminish after the age of 25." I am looking for someone that will compliment me throughout my life. Not another post from her. but i saw plenty of normal-looking Americans/westerners married to really homely chinese women (WTF?) not even considered average looking in western societies (no Wendy Deng) 3. Women that are not as fortunate as others have to try harder and do better rather than to just depend on their beauty to get them what they want. 4. For me it is what is in their heart and how kind and compassionate etc than what they look like. You are a true gentleman Now don't get me wrong I do think that I have a nice looking wife even at her age (hell of a lot better looking than I am) but I have to face the fact that she never was a car model. Don't like stick figure freaking model. We all grow old and ugly... trying to hang on to youthful good looks is a losing effort. True beauty is knowing that the one you are with will be there with you to the end.
  10. Here in the local Chinese markets you find tables after tables of beautifully wrapped boxes of moon cakes. Priced from ~$25 on up to over $100. Leiqin's been bringing home a different box each week and I've sampled each even though I've never really been a fan of moon cakes. The first box was really dry. blah! The second one wasn't bad, I kinda started liking it's sweet peanut flavor. The box she brought home last night was really quite good. It reminded me a bit of our Christmas fruit cakes, as it was filled with nuts and bits of fruit. I didn't ask, but I think each box she brought home was a bit more expensive than the previous one.
  11. My wife and I went to separate Immigration stations at LAX when we last returned from China. The officer asked if I was traveling alone. I had to retrieve Leiqin from the other station. I was firmly told to next time always stay together with who we are traveling with.
  12. I installed W10. Could not get internet. Went in Safe Mode, started back from an earlier time. Everything working fine again. MS continue alerts me to upgrade to W10. No thank you.
  13. The title is one of the reasons I won't return again to China with my wife. I am powerless without the ability to speak their language.
  14. Wonder why the sign English translation. Is there a problem with westerners spitting too?
  15. A ticket buys you the chance to dream... that's all.
  16. I enjoy natural beauty, still with a little eye makeup she'd be a real stunner. What intrigues me the most is her/their flawless skin.
  17. A recent article in the LA Times about LA's Koreatown nightlife... How LAPD vice is cleaning up K-town's less savory side http://i63.tinypic.com/9a4r6d.png Here's a couple," the sergeant says, motioning toward two young women shuffling past with doll-like makeup, perfectly coiffed hair and dresses clinging tightly to their petite frames. There's another scurrying into the club in a black corset dress with a lace-up front, then another, in a dusty-rose number. They're "doumi" girls, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Julia Vincent tells me... http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-ktown-nightlife-20151130-story.html
  18. Not with real Americans. What and who are "real" Americans?
  19. Makes one wonder if the 74th anniversary of 9/11 on 9/11/2075 will pass as unnoticed as this date in infamy has.
  20. a friend sent me this... http://i65.tinypic.com/316kxdz.jpg
  21. Well, I suppose if she wanted to gain a lot of publicity for herself and add international focus on the CCP, she did her job well. Her legs are too chunky to ever win though... http://i65.tinypic.com/2qtz49t.jpg
  22. 96 today, Tombo. Thanks I actually tried to delete my BD in my settings... but for some reason it wouldn't take.
  23. Chen Chen is Jim and Yuqin Julian's daughter.
  24. Interesting stats. I served aboard the 80,000 tonne aircraft carrier the USS Ranger CVA61 1967-69. The Ranger had a crew of 5000 the Gerald Ford has 4500 which is what the modern, all-volunteer Navy strives for; a smaller crew to maintain operational and combat readiness. Gerald Ford has a speed of "over 30 knots" which is laughable, as over 30 knots was easily achievable by the steam driven Ranger. Speeds are classified, so they're not gonna tell us anyway; however, the Ranger's top speed was ~35 knots and I would venture to guess the Ford is over 40. Some say these are giant targets. It certainly would seem that way, yet no ones even tried to sink one (as far as we know) since WWII. The Ranger was a Forestal class carrier that was replaced by the Nimitz class that is now being replaced by the Ford class carrier. Don't know what escort compliments Ford class carriers. We had a normal escort of 3 distroyers, a cruiser and probably one or two subs. Those ships were the protectors of the carrier. When a US carrier "steams" into any port anywhere in the world it's an awesome display of power. I remember standing on the flight deck looking out over the ocean at Task Force 71: Now we were used to seeing our escorts, but this was different... much different. Here were 4 aircraft carriers steaming in a line with close to 40 other ships scattered for far as the eye could see. I noticed that the normally empty cruiser's missile pads were now armed with missiles ready to lauch... and then there was the battleship New Jersey... OMG there wasn't a country on this planet that could match this show of strength. The sight made the hair on the back of this 18 year old kid's neck stand up.
