1. I believe that you have probably summed it up nicely for me David. Thanks
2. yes, Randy, I have to turn my head, everytime I pass those San Marino gardens. Especially, those Huntingtons! LOL
3. Chinatown is in downtown Los Angeles. It is an area that was established many years ago. It has become a tourist attraction, much the same as Chinatown in San Francisco, etc. However, in the last 20 years there has been a huge influx of Asian immigrants who have set up residency in the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County. This area of Chinese, and different Asian, immigrants are in communities adjacent to South Pasadena. These are newly arrived Chinese immigrants and I sence that Jie's feelings are much deeper than just poor Chinese who grow their own gardens (there is no space to grow a garden in LA Chinatown). Most newly arrivals are upper class Chinese or families who pool their money to live in a home in this area. To afford a home in LA, you have to have money. The average home in the San Gabriel Valley can fetch close to $600,000 now (ugh!). Sorry, but your theories don't mesh....
4. instead of Isaac Hayes, how about some Barry White for her some night?
5. I had to laugh, as my SO's mother would go down to the street every morning and bring back a plastic baggie filled with this delicious beef/noodles soup and give to me for breakfast and I often wondered what kind of meat was it really. As, it had the texture of hamburger. Hey, it tasted great, I ate it and I thanked her for it!!!!
6. The LA drivers are all foreigners from back east. Practice driving in Tijuana frist and you will be just fine.
7. Thanks David! I've read your comments on many postings, during my brief time here. Do you live in China? You seem very knowledgable on Chinese culture. I enjoyed your comments on truth and lies, was really food for thought for me. It really enlightened me on my SO's way of thinking.
8. Can someone more astute than I educate me on the meaning of all these TLA (Three Letter Acronyms) mean? CSC DCF NVC AOS EAD DOS CR1 and P1, P2 and P3? Thanks
9. Trigg I gotta laugh with you on that concept. I'd hate to see the remains of someone that tries that. 147569 Come on, most of us have had previous marriages with typical American women who have beat us down into submission. Controlling? What the hell is that? I know what being controlled is though! Fortunately, for us and Asian women, the rumor mill in China is that we are very giving and loving men. We know the real reason, but we can keep that our secret. As the saying goes, it's hard to teach us old dogs new tricks.
10. I thought of asking you if you were changing sides again... what will she say now to you? 140822
11. Dan, where abouts in the LA area are you? I am in South Pasadena and I will be bringing my Nanning wife and daughter home with me in a few months. Sure would be nice if my Jie had a friend (your wife) who she could call when she is experiencing those days of homesickness and the transisition of adjusting to life in America. Thanks, Dennis
