  1. Congrats Ed and Ying! We're still waiting for ours.
  2. Congratulations! It's nice to hear someone is moving along on this process. No interview saves a day off and travel expenses as well (usually there aren't any for I-751s). I hope to hear more I-751 approvals soon especially for my SO. Congrats to you once again. Citizenship next?
  3. I've read here that some Texan's I-751 were sent to VSC to be process because TSC were behind VSCs processing speed. Now TSC's date is 2/15/07 which means VSC (2/2/07) is now behind TSC. CSC is ahead of all the service centers processing applications 9/17/07. I think they'll send all the I-751 to CSC to lighten the load then we'll all be at the same pace with Nebraska handling applications 7/5/06. Imagine waiting almost two years before they even look at your application for the 10 year GC? It's just your typical government work with increased application fees or someone screwed up updating the website. It also could be a combo of other things. I guess we just have to have some patience to wait and see.
  4. I hate to see processing dates go backwards at VSC. With the increase in application fees, wouldn't you think logically to help speed up the locations that need help, so that they wouldn't need to send applications to other service stations. If you have speedier sites then replicate what they're doing to the sites that are slow. Yes, I realize that the government doesn't think logically sometimes so we all suffer at the mercy of their thinking or lack of. At times it seems there's no accountability in their actions. Just change their process and or increase man power. I guess at this rate the NOA1 one year will expire before my wife will get her 10 year GC. Then we'll have to get a infopass appointment to extend that notice. Another day off and more money down the tubes.
  5. We have enough anxiety going through USCIS's process and approvals. It gets so much worst when you become a victim from someone who decides your fate in this country. These people need to be caught, convicted, castrated, and hopefully be put in the same cell who will use them as a love puppet. Turn this around so that they become the victim and see if they liked it! Whatever goes around should come around for them.
  6. You can also look at our timeline for reference.
  7. I hope more people on this site will post their time lines for the I-751. I don't think I would trust the USCIS site on keeping their website up to date. As of now their sites list the following dates for finished processing applications: California - 8/19/07 Nebraska - 7/5/06 Texas - 4/26/07 Vermont - 3/1/07 As posted above Vermont's date is still on 3/1. Texas is almost a month ahead on the schedule. Some people have been transfered to Vermont from Texas. If Vermont is slower then why transfer to that site? It's probably because no one is updating the list at Vermont (I hope) and the date is much faster than Texas. I don't know if anyone has been looking at the 3/1 date for Vermont longer than I have, but I've seen it stuck there for at least 2 months!
  8. Congrats on getting your GC without an interview!
  9. I also couldn't read the number on my check. When I received the NOA and entered the EAC# it came up as an error and still does. When I received the notice for the biometrics the EAC# was different than from the NOA. Entering the biometric EAC# told me to follow the instructions on the letter I received and they will contact me if they needed anything else from us. In other words don't call us , we'll call you! The processing times on the USCIS website still hasn't be updated and is still listing March 2007 as the processing date for the I-751. I have commented on how long it's still listing March 2007. When I first looked at the date it was 9 months estimate before getting to 10 year GC. In two weeks it'll be one year if the processing date on still stuck on March 2007. Hopefully it's stuck on that date because they didn't assign a person to update it, if not then did they receive a zillion applications for I-751 on March 2007. I don't think so!!! But I've been wrong before. If you follow my timeline it will give you an idea when to expect the NOA & Biometric letters.
  10. You have to check with your company's health insurance policies on when you can enroll her. Not every company's policy is the same! I had to wait until we were married to add her but I couldn't wait pass three months after we were married to add her on. If I waited pass the three months then I would have to do it at the next open enrollment time. I also had to give them a copy of my marriage license. I hope this gives you a partial idea to your question. Your company should be able to answer your question in full.
  11. Congratulations! If you're married for 2 years or more you'll get the 10 year GC. If you're married less than 2 year's you'll get the 2 year GC and will have to file for the I-751, 90 days before the expiration of her GC and not before. If you file before the 90 days the application might be sent back to you. Some member's spouses remained with their given names and other's preferred to change their last names when they married. This should be the choice of their spouse. In our case to avoid any confusion with our paperwork my wife chose to keep her name filing the I-485, since accounts were still listed under her family name. This time she wanted to change her family name to mine for the I-751. All the accounts are change to her married name during this waiting period to file the I-751. Needless to say that this can be done if the marriage certificate said that she's taking your surname. You're correct about the one charge for the filing fee and $80 for each person for biometrics. My wife went today for her biometrics for the I-751. The last time she went there, there was a line on the street stretching almost around the corner. The waiting room inside was packed with people. Even though everyone had an appointment didn't mean you were going in at that time. They would let the same amount of people who came out to go in. Today's appointment was totally different. We went straight inside and filled out the short form. They checked her ID, short form, and appointment letter. She didn't have any line what so ever and was sent to the back to be processed. This took 15 minutes or less from walking in the door and leaving. You can't compare it to the few hours waiting time we had back then. Once again, Congrats!
  12. I think the best thing to do is to make an info pass appointment. I know that either VSC is slow in updating their website info or no one is updating it. It has been stuck at March 15 for a few months. If you look at my timeline, ours was filed at about the same time as yours. I also wrote on their address section a big I-751. I thought this would help them separate their applications faster rather than it winding up in a big pile to be separated later. Did you have a return receipt as proof that they signed for the package containing your application? Do you have proof from the bank that they actually cashed your money order? If both answers are yes then I would schedule an infopass appointment to find out why you didn't receive the NOA1. Once your package is opened and your check is cashed there shouldn't be any delay in sending out the NOA1. But if they didn't get to opening your package yet, then I can see why you didn't receive the NOA1.
  13. Congrats on getting the GC! I guess it's a pre-Chinese New Year present.
  14. Texas is processing April 19 applications while Vermont is still stuck on March 1st! I don't get why your notice said Texas is transfering anything to Vermont since Vermont is still handling March's apps! Why would a faster center send it's work to a slower center??? Doh! I just hope that nobody actually updated the Vermont processing date and that they're further along than they posted.
  15. We received our I-751 biometrics appointment today for February 13, 2008. I had tried to enter our application number on our NOA at their website since we received the NOA and USCIS website kept on replying there's an error. This time I inputed the application number on the Biometrics notice and it said to follow the directions given on the notice. So much for finding out the status of our case but at least we have an appointment. Our application was process through Vermont and the website updated for January is still stuck on processing March 1, 2007 applications for at least 2 months or more! I'm happy for the biometrics but it seems to be a slow as molasses movement in the future waiting time for the 10 year GC.
  16. Congratulations! Time to celebrate the New Year again. Of course the Chinese New Year is also in one month so keep celebrating.
  17. I think the bottom line is the expiration date on both GCs which have to fall within the 90 days filing period. If the son is following 9 months later I can't see both GC's dates expiring in the same period.
  18. It's possible that your petition will be accepted without having to have an interview. Good luck! We're still waiting for them to cash our check for the I-751! Since we have more than one checking account We'll, just use that one to monitor if they have cashed it or not.
  19. Congrats! Another step out of the way and one more to go for the ten year GC.
  20. Congrats to you! We're waiting for to 10 yr GC as well but have a long wait for Vermont. Vermont have gone from a 8 to 9 months wait.
