We are leaving in a week (dec 5th) to GUZ, and i sure would enjoy meeting anyone from CFL while we are there (hopefully thru dec 15th!!) Also any recommendations for a good western style restraunt? hey scott i am going thru the same process. NWA recently changed the rules for luggage if you bought your ticket before 9/1/05 then you can have 70 pounds after that 50! Not sure how they inforce it but i would check the website for the airline you are flying her out on to see what the charges are for over weight/size and extra baggage. It still might be cheaper than shipping things via china post......I spent 200$ to send 5 boxes. Hope this helps. mark

just got our p4 today and our interview is the 12th of dec, dos told me dec 27th in broken english!!!! anyway we will be home for christmas, we are so happy. going to stay at the apartments at the annex (as posted here by romantic) my wife is so very happy and i have her packing now. told her we have to watch the weight of suitcases...so she borrowed one of those chinese measuring sticks, i sure hope i don't go over weight!!-anyone going to be there around the same time pm me we will arrive there around the 5th of dec. mark

according to dos the p4 was sent out nov 2, as of now still haven't received it. How long should i wait to contact guz and what is the best way? i can't get a pin number for the visa info line? mark

we are cr1 and our interview is dec 27, almost 14 months from filing the 130. I couldn't be apart from my wife so long so i have been here in china waiting since august. at least we are together so the wait wasn't so hard. mark

just called DOS, like Carl i called yesterday and nothing new.....we are scheduled for dec 27th, so christmas here and new years in the us. hard to believe the end of this wait is in sight. mark

i have a suggestion for the consulate: most of us are just interested in the status and when the interview is scheduled, why can't the guz consulate just make a pdf file of case numbers by interview dates etc and post it on their website similar to what is done at the india embassy. the lack of a way to contact the consulate except by a pay method is unacceptable and almost impossible for most chinese except those that live in beijing or shanghai. thanks mark

i have had the same problem tried to sign up for the last two days....this really sucks.

i just spent the last few days trying to get a pin number to call this info service. i am in china with my wife and at an internet cafe (this keyboaard is not very good) well my wife does not have a atm or credit card since we live in a small town and after asking at the main branch of the bank of china find out we can get one in beijing, 20 hours away!!! any suggestions on how to get it would be appreciated. i guess the visa fees that we pay are not enough to cover the visa units expenses. our hard earned money at work.

Hey timeline, called dos and found out we were entered into the computer on July 16th and now waiting for second name check to be returned. Mark

make sure you enter a password correctly, ie one cap one number at least. the on line status is only good for the service center and you cannot get info for your nvc case number. mark

i just bought an old victorian home (100yrs old) that is a duplex with my wifes approval. I will wait for her to get here before we make any changes. Yes i think it is very important that she feels it is "our" home. I told her it is her duty to decorate our new home. I am sure that it will need new toilets, hardwood floors and many other changes, God I love this woman and i am sure she will make it our so sweet and happy home! mark

the terra cota soldiers in Xian are very cool. The forbidden city and summer palace in Beijing are very nice to visit. I also enjoyed Wes Lake and Sanqin mountain. Also the raft trip to see the cliff graves and the maiden rock were very cool to see. mark
