  1. Our I-129F package mailed from NVC on May 9 , overcame clearance delay in GUZ on June 9. It was delivered to GUZ on June 10. The P3 package was sent to Ying on June 15. Ying recievced on June 17 am and sent back to GUZ on June 17 pm. From checking EMS, looks like it was delivered on 6/19 ( sunday) morning to the White Swan hotel.
  2. Agree. Well said. Don't confuse them with the facts, meet the minimums and move on. I would also agree with prevous posts, unless you have very expensive RV, boat etc that would effect the a yes /no decison - forget about it
  3. Sending money to a wife is fine. Sending money to a fianee is not a good idea. What is the difference ? a. There is a relationship with a wife and not a fiancee ? b. A wife is to be trusted, a fiance is not to be trusted ? c. Somehow a wife is better than a fiancee ? I do not understand - what I do understand is generalizations are dangerous. Here is a generalizition to consider: "Anyone who did not first meet their SO in person ( first contact not on internet) and have a long term relationship, either living with or multiple visits, before making the decison to marry or pursue a K type visa is crazy" How many of you can meet the above criteria ??? Of course some can. I have never tried to judge anyone involved in the visa process based on: how they meet, type of relationship, length of relationship, etc. If you find this post offense, I am sorry, but the general tone of previous posts just irked me. ( Like I am idiot to trust fiancee SO) There should be nothing wrong with being truthful with the relationship and interaction with you SO. As far as I am concerned, it is all upfront and on the table. Nothing will be hidden or ignored. I would much rather be upfront than asked about why did you tell about something. Too each their own - I am done venting - back to counting blue thingies and time to visa.
  4. Or don't notice or know the form is expired. But really it is good if they use the old if there is no reason to discard. The website has the detail on which expired forms are acceptable, I am sure everyone checks that
  5. Thanks king, I am sure the "on-deck" folks will be itching for information. This will be a big change, a disconnect from the past. Reminds me of my past. I graduated from high school on the last year of a single high school for the city, the slight difference is the old high school continued operation, so there was some continuation. Some part of me feels cheated - unless I make a special effort, will not see and experience all the Shamian stuff, things I have so long read about and dreamed for. Maybe it is just me
  6. Yes, it does sound like P3, If you are K-1 it should have gone to her. Ying got the P3 package on morning of 6/17 in Beijing, the letter was dated 6/15. If your SO does not get package in next day or so, I would just help fill the forms and then send to her so she can sign and forward to GUZ. Maybe fasetr than getting Guz to send to her ?? Ying thought it was very funny that Guz send her expired form ( I think it is the DS-230) and we sent GUZ the new form. When you are caught in this process, you have to find humor where you can
  7. Don't get me wrong. I am not surprised that our servants are not serving us. These namecheck delays are tragic and seem to be out of the mainstream. Everyone guards their privacy. I hate to ask , but are all the cards on the table ? Nothing is held back - there are no situations with family members, relatives that might be a factor ? I bring this up becuase I have seen some examples on another forum where someone has a problem, then later comes forward with a key detail that has not been shared.
  8. I would be almost 99% sure that what you have found are prices, not available seats. If you try to book them you will probably find that they are not available. One thing good about Orbitz! You can select the flight and then pick your seats. If there is a caption that says contact the airline to purchase they are the flights that probaly doesnt have any seats. But if it says Select in the top left corner then there are seats. Yes you are right. I did some homework, before posting, a few of the referenced airlines had no seats available at the low prices
  9. Good for you as you are lucky. One thing to add; when I travel I always carry enough cash to pay our expenses and to buy a ticket home. Also I carry a fake wallet, about $200 and old credit cards if someone is bent on robbing me. Eagle creek has a great money belt (web style); just get rid of the plastic buckle and replace it with a "GI" one. Shoes are good too for stashing things. A $100 bill in China goes a long way. Happy globe trotting. Well not so lucky, despite planning and preparation, I have had some problems. That reinforces my conviction to be prepared for problems. The "bad" people are just more relentless than us. Let your guard down for a moment and you may be the next victim. Don't be scared, just be perpared Your advice about having some reserve cash, money belt, keeping money divided and having a mugger wallet is also good advice, that I practice. I was focused on the passport, as that can be a major pain.
  10. I have hosted many Chinese groups here in the US, and some pronunications sound almost exactly like the "n-word" It has never been a problem, most folks are savvy enough to realize the Chinese people are speaking their native language, not picking up a American slang word to include in the conversation.
  11. Just a wild guess. Maybe the CA reps are overloaded with immigration related requests. Maybe more immigrants wnat to go to CA than say IL. Maybe your case needs to cut from the herd, make them aware it is different - a problem that needs attention ? If I knew how to do that, I would probably be wealthy. Just my ideas, wish you good luck
  12. To echo Bob's advice, when traveling overseas, you should: 1. Have 2 passport photos with you. 2. Have several photocopies of passport front pages and visa page with you and located in different places ( wallet, luggage, etc.). 3. Leave a copy of #2 with someone back in the states. 4. Guard your passport, leave it in hotel lockbox/safe if at all possible, in most cases if you need to show some ID, the photocopies will be fine. Is this planning for a problem, yes. But, If your passport goes missing, you will be glad you followed the above advice.
  13. I would be almost 99% sure that what you have found are prices, not available seats. If you try to book them you will probably find that they are not available.
  14. It was a few months ago that June 22 was held up a date for the location annoucement. Yikes they are actually one day early. Interesting that the mailing address did not change. It will also be interesting to watch the 001 interview dates, they are already well into July, 28th is latest I saw
  15. Not sure what you think is relatively inexpensive ? One way ? Part of the issue is you want to fly in 5 days. Another issue is you want to fly on a given day. Unfortunately the airlines see $ $ stamped all over you. It looks like United can get you there for about $1900 departing Saturday, about $1600 departing Sunday.
  16. I had time to research before I could apply. Decided that K-1 would be best for us and learned that I would be cursed with Nebraska. As it turned out, I slipped thru NSC in slightly less than 90 days. It seems that since then NSC has slowed again. Every step of the way and your indiviudual result at that step seems to be a total crapshoot. Maybe you are lucky, maybe you are not. I am keeping all body parts crossed. Wishing good luck and progress to those how have met some delays
  17. My timing sucks !!! Maybe someday one of these events will occur when I am in the USA. I will catch you' all next time
  18. This issue is what I consider one of my weakness in my application... by the time of the interview, I will of known Zixuan about 13 months... I have wondered for some time if a VO would make this an issue... I think the key is 'confidence' in the answer... and we got a great example posted here by John90 !! Don't get me wrong, I think 18, 12, 6 months is plenty. I just do not undersatand the line of questioning, seems like a direct attempt to rattle the interviewee. Just more psycho-babble techniques. Basically worthless but gives the impression you are doing something
  19. Congratulations, Great News !!! The line of questioning about 18 months being young relationship is a new twist ? ( I hope 30+ months is okay) I also get drawings on the handwritten letters - love them Anyway - Congrats and Best Wishes
