  1. GIV-24 is the "Family Composition Sheet" Question 6 and 7 asks about you and SO's immediate relatives. For all the relatives , How did you answer "present address" 1. City, province/state, Country 2. Full mailing address 3 Or ? Thanks for your input
  2. Yak tastes like very spicy beef jerky. The only way I could find it on my short visit was in the jerky type form. There were choices to be found - wet, wet, dry, spicy, more spicy, etc. It did NOT taste like chicken.
  3. Mark , I agree we just have to see what happens with GUZ/DOS. It is been a very long tiime since I was in Canal Fulton. Please tell me you had some yellow paint under the hood ???
  4. Agree with Tony, it would be very easy to bring her a laptop system, that does not leave with you
  5. I cannot make it. I have to go see Laopo. Barbecue the goat, hopefully black. He think Loapo visit is not good excuse. I am still investgating how we can get our real macot, the yak, to attend some functions.
  6. Yea Mark I think I will just start periodic inquires to GUZ and DOS see what develops. This DHL stufff may be waste and the amusment factor is fading You know where Canal Fulton OH is ? I spent a few years there.
  7. Vegas is fine !! I am usually there in late July for work, we can't start until it is over 100F - about 10-11 am. It is dry heat , just drink lots of fluids. Vegas is the front runner for our wedding, I hope by Nov/Dec
  8. Doug, Mark Everything I have found agrees that it may be 4-6 weeks before GUZ gets the shipment from NVC. How long it take the to enter into into computer - I do not know. The 4/12 shipment was delivered on 5/17. Hopefully you will hear something soon. I hope I get to the embassy soon !
  9. We would like to get the medical done in Beijing, then pay the interview fee in Guangzhou. I have looked at this carefully, there seems to be some cross communication between the K and CR Visa variants. Ihave found no requirement that the fee receipt needs to be in the medical package. Maybve this is just some hel;p to make sure it is not lost ??? I think we had a few K-1 folks that were planning to have medical in Beijing, but have not seen any report from them. This fee is required, is there some difference between stuffing it in the medical package and presenting it with the medical package ? When is the medical package opened ? Why would anyone trust that the fee receipt was in the package ? I am going to check this out in a few weeks when I am in Beijing. Our plan for now is to that the medical exam in Beijing before we go to GUZ, pay the fee in GIZ and go to interview.
  10. Ken Great news and thnaks for the interview update
  11. Mark My interest in DHL is to get some idea of when to bug DOS and GUZ. If the package is at DHL, taling to Dos/GUZ is pointless. I guesait does not hurt to check with DOS, because the ship date NVC gives us maynot be accurate. We could be looking at "misleading" info from DHL, because the NVC date is not correct. Looking back at my old stuff, a I-730 shipment on 4/1, was delivered to GUZ on 5/13
  12. May packages with I-730 reference not delivered to embassy, "On hand or Arrived at facility appears to be same as clearance delay" They are all heavy packages, some are two boxes. And to think I thought Nebraska was bad. I think we need a 6 Sigma project to investigate why we ship a package over in 3 days to sit for 3 weeks or more. The Format of report _________________________ Tracking number,Status, Status date, Ship Date, Origin, Destination ______________________________________________ 7866151930 Clearance Delay. 4/29/2005 5:16 pm 4/26/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7866492152 On Hand at Destination Station. 4/30/2005 5:09 pm 4/27/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7867200040 Arrived at DHL facility. 5/7/2005 10:57 pm 5/2/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7867440151 Arrived at DHL facility. 5/7/2005 10:58 pm 5/3/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7531655235 Arrived at DHL facility. 5/12/2005 10:59 am 5/9/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7532437183 Clearance Delay. 5/16/2005 9:45 pm 5/12/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7533351265 Arrived at DHL facility. 5/20/2005 10:58 am 5/17/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7533614093 Clearance Delay. 5/23/2005 5:32 pm 5/18/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7534518412 Clearance Delay. 5/27/2005 2:28 pm 5/23/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7535034533 Clearance Delay. 5/27/2005 2:28 pm 5/24/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7535363894 Clearance Delay. 5/30/2005 2:07 pm 5/25/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7535879960 Clearance Delay. 5/30/2005 2:07 pm 5/26/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA 7536205784 Clearance Delay. 5/31/2005 9:40 am 5/27/2005 PORTSMOUTH, NH GUANGZHOU, CHINA
  13. Are you sure all the packages that DHL told you about were from NVC to AMCON ? If you go just by zipcode, you can catch more than wah is sent from NVC. It looks like they have to query each shipment to find the to/from. If all the packages you reference were really from NVC to GUZ my I-730 theory is shot to heck. Before I thought I had a theory, I treid looking for packages by other references " K-1, K1, K3, K-3, I-129, I-12pf:, etc. No hits except with I-730, which is a general family based visa reference.
  14. In your discussion with DHL, were all of the packages sent from NVC, or were some sent from other locations ? The DHL folks have several ways to look at packages sent/recieved. NVC told me that my file was sent on May 9. At first DHL told that many packages went to GUZ that day, aftersome discussion, it was determinbed that only one of those packages was from NVC. Ths is where I got the theory that the K files were sent with the I-730 reference. It is only theory, but everyday NVC makes a shipment to GUZ with I-730 reference. Some are less than 4 lbs miss clearance delay others are about 6 lbs or 2 boxes at about 12 lbs total. All the heavy stuff is delayed. It seems to take 3 to 6 weeks to clear. There are 8 or so shipments with I-730 reference waiting to clear from May I will get a update and post it
  15. If you don't have to have it there in like 3-4 days, check out the Post Office. Several of the air mail /priority options will get it quickly and save you some money. Anyjing opther than paper has to be identfied, soem something like "Gift, CDROM, and a nominal value should do the trick
  16. $1240 is a good price. I use a visa service all the time. There should be no problem with using Flychina's service. Send you passports with a express mail ( for tracking purposes)
  17. From what have read and numerous trips thru passport control - Stay together, no one will separate you. Go to the non-US lines. Your actual experience may depend on how busy the POE is when you arrrive. If you see/find immigration officer before you get in line, you may get some special treatment Best Wishes
  18. I agree confidence is good. Attire is another very subjective matter. Ying's from the countryside, she dresses smartly and economically. I just think we and our SO's should be true to our stituation. However well intentioned, I think the suggestion to send some $$ for a outfit is not approriate or well considered. (Your suggestiion has several very negative connotations - think about it)
  19. Nooneufo, thanks for your good work !!! It would be great if things were getting significantly faster !!! For now, I will say nothing to Ying about a speed-up - learned my lesson when a bunch of folks at Nebraska sprinted ahead, but I was left behind. And likewise waiting at DHL in GZ
  20. Let's evaulate USC hour at 3 pm on Friday - embassy is not open/no interviews on Sat and Sun. Me thinks they would rather not have any USC at USC hour.
  21. Congatrulations !!! The interview is a good thing to add to your plate !!
  22. I have had similar concern. Our package from NVC has been sitting at DHL in GZ since May 12. I hope it will be at the embassy soon, but have this vision/nightmare of Ying's P3 process occuring in the middle of the move
