  1. A lot of interesting and true observations. To the post title question, of where is the outrage for those who are visa diggers.....I have no outrage. I always like to refer to the numbers in things (as some of you know), and the numbers regarding this subject are not that clear, but I think are very low. For the few times that result in a visa digger after our government has gone through the screening process to eliminate those visa diggers because us poor Americans can not figure it out for ourselves.....( I could not help a little dig at this ridiculous visa process). Anyway, for the few who might fool somebody well enough to have only been going through a relationship charade, I say good for them if they manage to pull it off, *if that was all it was*. I can always admire a well done scam, and taking a year or more to do what could be done in a hundred easier ways in less time is one of them. You are responsible for yourself, each person is trying to get a better life, no matter where they are. Some do it badly, most do it honestly. In any life situation, it is up to you to do your homework, every day. Only you can be held responsible for the failure to do so, not the instructor.
  2. Thank you for the info. Took care of the SS card within the K1 time. No problem getting that, and the SS office knew exactly what to do.(I don't know how other people make it without CFL, maybe it just takes them more time or hassles). Wondering about anyone who has changed the card later, like this scenario: Come to US. Get SS card. Get married. Don't change last name. At what point do you ask for a new SS card without the "No work" stamp? I cannot recall anyone *ever* asking to see my SS card, so perhaps this is moot, but since we don't know what we might do in the future, I am thinking we might want a card at some point with this removed.
  3. Still filling all these forms out and getting the documents together. I want to be sure I understand this correctly as I am unable to find this spelled out as well as I like. (If you have a link to a gov site, please post). If we do not file the I-765 with the I-465, after we have an AOS interview for the I-465, she can then go to work without this form? Or do you need to file it no matter what if you want to work? For example, if she is not going to go to work for a year, and we might get an interview before that, is this just a waste of money? At what point can you get the "not authorized to work" stamp removed from the social security card? Thanks.

    she sounds SCARY

We had her, or someone who my SO thought was her. We had discussed the likelihood of getting her before the interview, and I bolstered my SO's confidence saying that it does not matter who she gets, because we are prepared for all possibilities. (My SO did say afterwards, that the prior discussions we had about this possibility helped her confidence, especially the moment she saw who she was going to interview her). I felt, and my SO agreed based on her reading of past interviews on 001, that people who get her seem to have a higher probability of being the ones who have more questionable or unusual situations. We think she gets assigned the perceived, trickier cases. We prepared accordingly , thinking that we fell into this catagory. Based on my reading from other CFL interviews, it appears that being prepared, based on your own circumstances is what matters. CFL members should certainly be better prepared than the average person considering the wealth of resources here. You should read the post in the faqs concerning the blue slip list, and using that go back and read about these problems and prepare to avoid them, and any others specific to your own situation
  5. While some of the data below is suspect, based on it for the past year and the sequencing of P4 data, it appears that the average wait time on the name check is around 60 days. Meaning within any P3 to P4 letter date group, the average appears to be 60 days because one could not get a P4 quicker than 80 days from a P3.....so far. (add in the the notice time of 60 and 30 days to a name check time, and we see the low is 90 days and high is 120 days on average). This is why I think unless we see a reduction in name check times, we won't see much less time for the P4s......unless there is a procedure change that allows for an instant interview assignment the moment the name check clears. But that would require a different way of doing the paperwork at Guangzhou. Right now assignments are in 60 day and 30 days groups. Is this a prelude for faster interviews? Check behind the curtain. Basically I would not worry until your P3 letter date group is very close to its P4 time, and you still have not gotten a name check cleared. I also would call DOS once a week to ask for the status. Number of days from P3 computer entry to Name check cleared. 103 59 43 26 63 37 49 11 88 43 47 34 24 49 40 45 4 26 28 30 10 26 32 26 283 53 48 124 54 99 68 85 109 48 66 46 108
  6. Actually I have given this info before, don't remember which post. Anyway, as usual the data comes from the past year (June 2004) of CFL members who had a timeline with the data, which is about 45% of the timelines posted. There are hundreds of people who do not provide any information at all. In my opinion, the time it takes for the service center to go from NOA1 to NOA2 is by luck of the draw. Someone has a good sigline about what a service center may give, Guz (or NVC) will take away. However, there does appear to be a general trend downward in wait times..... Number of days from NOA1 to NOA2, the order is by their NOA1 dates for each center. CSC 199 307 147 162 145 154 136 140 147 54 92 105 40 74 100 211 224 68 78 25 46 MSC 210 NSC 167 124 96 102 99 91 82 86 89 98 TSC 86 62 34 VSC 398 113 46 24 12 13 8 9 28 14 31 22 DCF 20 56 NSC transferred to MSC 201 TSC transferred to CSC 105 Service center unknown 186 157 296 86 122 25 91 32 3 168 231 220 132 196 122 64 204 5 10 90 64 97 97 98 11 94 8 16 69 42 20 41 13
  7. The last interview group was over a two week period while they got their P4's for September Interviews. Based on that data, in which their P3's were mostly from March 12 to April 27 with one last one with a date of May 16. It is assumed that the next group could possibly be starting next week for the rest of April through May P3 dates. The spread usually averages 30-50 days of each P3 group. What this boils down to is expect at least a 150 day wait from your P3 letter date to your Interview date on average based on the latest trend. Or you could get lucky and see less, but I wouldn't count on it just yet while we wait for evidence of a true decrease in wait times.. To guestimate if you might be in the October Interview list, you can subtract 60 days from the last working date of October, which is next week, and then see if that date is within 100 to 120 days from your P3 letter date. We have seen as little as 80 days from the P3 to P4 letter dates ( that was for the May P3), but it is still up in the air if this will continue downwards. Since you have 5/17/05 down for P3 date, and if you have passed the name check, one would think it likely you could get a P4 soon and Interview date within the mid-October interview assignments.
  8. Ahh, I see now. Apologies. You had me confused about the idea of exoticism for a group of white males with Chinese females (since CFL is about Americans and Chinese) intermixed with the information about Asian American females with white males. Two completely different subjects. In which case, I will keep the first part of my post, and say the second part can be ignored. Since Asian American females make up 2.5% of the population in America, where their large pool of choices are in the white male catagory because choosing from only 2.5% of Asian American males is a small group in comparison. Fortunately, this is America, you are free to choose who you want to be with (at least lip service is given to the ideal anyway). Sheer numbers will naturally make you tend towards the larger group. But clearly some kind of bias is there to make you choose within your own perceived group ( I disagree with racial characterizations, so I assume this is cultural or parental pressure) or we would see this number to be much higher. ( I assume also that this type of pressure within groups, for example my SO does not like being confused as Japanese, so I would assume this is also going on within the available pool of eligible males to choose from). Some interesting statistics here (and other information): http://www.asian-nation.org/interracial2.shtml
  9. For China alone, if we are to take the statistics assuming all the K1's were white males, this is around 16,000 a year. This is .0016 percent of the population of China. Did anyone even notice? Where do they come up with these numbers anyway? I can see it now, sort of like a film noir, a bunch of guys sitting around the newsroom with the editor..... Say boss, gotta good one for ya! Sell it to me Joe. Tick-tick-tick, newsflash! "Dames like men in other countries". Too boring Joe, spice it up. I got it boss! How about, "Lookers Looking for Love From Foreign Lands"!? I like it, print it. How many dames like this? I dunno boss. Fine, make it 20% of the women. I want it on the front page tomorrow. You got it boss!
  10. I am not one for lawyers, but I would follow this advice. The past evidence shows that when they want to reject your application, or interview, they use whatever is handy, and this sounds like one they could use. I don't know how hard it would be to fix, but it is better to minimize any possible problems in this long process. Also past interviews show that they can get very inquisitive about previous marriages, and yours sounds like they could do this because of the timing. On the other hand, many people who think they should have a problem, have none. Do everything you can to make it go smoothly, and don't forget to have a copy of all documents you file, particularly your initial I-129f. It makes filling out things later much easier.
  11. They do not need your I-134 because you can submit it privately to the consulate with out having your SO bring it. This has happened in the past where someone said the hospital said they needed it, but I should think it is the consulate that decides this, and it says you do not, need it at the medical exam. The P4 should have contained a list of what to bring to the exam.
  12. Congratulations again!!! Thank you again for the good P3 /P4 letter dates. I take what you are saying to mean that your I-129f was clear? Something new at last. With this posting, we have the first breakthrough this year of 80 days from P3 to P4 since July 2004 P3's. Perhaps we may see some real decrease in the wait times. Perhaps we shall see more reduced numbers, how about 70 days? How about 60 days? Why not?
  13. I see no difference in any pattern, as this still follows what they have been doing for the past year. So far. I would say you are just seeing the week by week pattern of the "take is off the top of the stack to to give the interview" , "put it back on to a new stack", "take it off that stack and tell about the Interview stack". That is my reasoning for the reversing pattern. If you take the data for each week of each P3 letter date and chart it, this pattern becomes clearer. Here are the September Interviews in Interview date order. The first numbered column is P3 computer entry to P4 number of days. The second numbered column is P3 received (or P3 letter date) to P4 number of days The third column is P3 to Interview number of days. The fourth column is the number of days notice, or P4 to Interview. P3 Rcvd---P3 comp---P4 Rcvd---Interview---Days between each 04/07/05 04/19/05 08/02/05 09/06/05 140 117 152 35 04/20/05 05/13/05 08/03/05 09/06/05 116 105 139 34 03/28/05 04/04/05 07/28/05 09/07/05 156 122 163 41 03/28/05 04/08/05 07/28/05 09/07/05 152 122 163 41 03/21/05 03/26/05 07/28/05 09/08/05 166 129 171 42 03/26/05 04/15/05 08/02/05 09/08/05 146 129 166 37 03/27/05 04/06/05 07/28/05 09/09/05 156 123 166 43 04/22/05 04/29/05 08/04/05 09/09/05 133 104 140 36 04/17/05 05/12/05 08/03/05 09/12/05 123 108 148 40 03/07/05 05/10/05 08/03/05 09/13/05 126 149 190 41 04/05/05 04/08/05 08/01/05 09/13/05 158 118 161 43 03/28/05 03/28/05 07/28/05 09/14/05 170 122 170 48 04/15/05 03/30/05 07/26/05 09/14/05 168 102 152 50 03/03/05 04/26/05 07/31/05 09/15/05 142 150 196 46 03/29/05 04/01/05 07/28/05 09/15/05 167 121 170 49 04/07/05 04/15/05 08/01/05 09/19/05 157 116 165 49 04/12/05 05/05/05 08/01/05 09/19/05 137 111 160 49 04/15/05 04/15/05 08/01/05 09/19/05 157 108 157 49 04/11/05 04/14/05 08/01/05 09/20/05 159 112 162 50 04/08/05 04/08/05 07/28/05 09/21/05 166 111 166 55 04/27/05 05/10/05 08/02/05 09/21/05 134 97 147 50 04/16/05 04/28/05 08/03/05 09/24/05 149 109 161 52 02/26/05 04/08/05 07/28/05 09/29/05 174 152 174 63 03/12/05 03/28/05 08/02/05 09/29/05 185 143 201 58 04/12/05 04/29/05 08/01/05 09/29/05 153 111 170 59 See how the pattern above is much more random than the pattern below, which is P3 letter date order. 02/26/05 04/08/05 07/28/05 09/29/05 174 152 174 63 03/03/05 04/26/05 07/31/05 09/15/05 142 150 196 46 03/07/05 05/10/05 08/03/05 09/13/05 126 149 190 41 03/12/05 03/28/05 08/02/05 09/29/05 185 143 201 58 03/21/05 03/26/05 07/28/05 09/08/05 166 129 171 42 03/26/05 04/15/05 08/02/05 09/08/05 146 129 166 37 03/27/05 04/06/05 07/28/05 09/09/05 156 123 166 43 03/28/05 04/04/05 07/28/05 09/07/05 156 122 163 41 03/28/05 04/08/05 07/28/05 09/07/05 152 122 163 41 03/28/05 03/28/05 07/28/05 09/14/05 170 122 170 48 03/29/05 04/01/05 07/28/05 09/15/05 167 121 170 49 04/05/05 04/08/05 08/01/05 09/13/05 158 118 161 43 04/07/05 04/19/05 08/02/05 09/06/05 140 117 152 35 04/07/05 04/15/05 08/01/05 09/19/05 157 116 165 49 04/08/05 04/08/05 07/28/05 09/21/05 166 111 166 55 04/11/05 04/14/05 08/01/05 09/20/05 159 112 162 50 04/12/05 05/05/05 08/01/05 09/19/05 137 111 160 49 04/12/05 04/29/05 08/01/05 09/29/05 153 111 170 59 04/15/05 03/30/05 07/26/05 09/14/05 168 102 152 50 04/15/05 04/15/05 08/01/05 09/19/05 157 108 157 49 04/16/05 04/28/05 08/03/05 09/24/05 149 109 161 52 04/17/05 05/12/05 08/03/05 09/12/05 123 108 148 40 04/20/05 05/13/05 08/03/05 09/06/05 116 105 139 34 04/22/05 04/29/05 08/04/05 09/09/05 133 104 140 36 04/27/05 05/10/05 08/02/05 09/21/05 134 97 147 50 Here is a graphical view of the P4's given out in P4 date order, Note how in each group, the P4 wait time starts high then goes down, then the next group starts high then goes down. I think we see this because when they work with each case, at each stage they are manually handling the application. Which then goes into a new stack for the next stage of processing. ( I posted this chart a while ago for the same purpose with the data available then, with the same pattern). Reposted below first chart. 14. Actually you are at the top of the list as I used your P3 date of when you received it back on March 7th. Note the P3 to P4 column will put you within the pattern of days wait, assuming everyone gets assigned in the way back when, if everything else is okay.
  15. Horsefeathers! P3 3-18 in guangzhou 3-28 interview 9-29 143679[/snapback] Sorry about that, I revised the list and added the two other people that got cut off the top of the list. I have you down as a P3 letter date because you said in another thread you got the P3 around March 12th. This still fits the total profile. 16. Sorry, I can't remember the thread. I think he was there for the interview and had to go to the consulate himself to get another letter or something. Perhaps someone else remembers this better.
  17. That was this thread. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11854 I thought this was a good sign, but if everyone else is getting 8am, that has me wondering. If they were to start setting times, then things should speed up.
  18. Yes, someone had this trouble before and you do need this letter. You should be able to email Guangzhou and tell them you have not received it and they will send another.
  19. Congratulations. Guangzhou is doing it the way they have been doing it. The question is, are they going to do more as we see the numbers coming down to their range we had for April interviews. Note how they are getting into the 30 day notice group. Note also the gap is still within the 30 day range of notification from the longest to shortest P3-P4 of 129 to 98 days waits. If we see a drop to 80 days, this will be new. Here are all the September interviews so far. (Sorted in P3 date or P3 received order). The first numbered column is P3 computer entry to P4 number of days. 20. Really things are kind of the same, and nothing is different. One can be thankful that there is no significant increase in wait times. We are still waiting for the evidence of decreasing wait times further than what it has been for the past year. I hope we see this for October interviews. Total number of CFL Interviews for January 2005 was 32. Total number of CFL Interviews for February 2005 was 9. Total number of CFL Interviews for March 2005 was 24. Total number of CFL Interviews for April 2005 was 12. Total number of CFL Interviews for May 2005 was 14. Total number of CFL Interviews for June 2005 was 21. Total number of CFL Interviews for July 2005 was 1. Total number of CFL Interviews for August 2005 was 7. Total number of CFL Interviews for September so far is 21. Based on the current data, up to 12 people more could get a P4 this week as their P3 dates fall within the range of those who have received one so far.
  21. Congratulations. They often assign backwards. I sound like a broken record, but we need all data, not just parts. The consulate makes changes. For example what if they start holding the P3 returns for a month everytime before entering them into the computer?. We may not know for quite some time if people don't report all dates they possibly can, of every event, so that others may know when their own events are having a problem. I agree that other factors play into exactly where your being put for a P4/Interview, but that the order seems to be in P3 letter date order. (Need more data) There are no time related events specific to the past years data concerning the name check except if you don't have a name check completed. Meaning, if your name check is complete, you will fall into line with your P3 group. Your interview time and P4 time may vary, but still consistantly with the P3 group. For example, here are the last 13 people in P3 received order of their times from P3 to P4. 129 123 122 122 122 121 118 116 117 111 112 111 102 This gives the appearance that the P3 date on the letter determines who is being assigned an interview first. But because at time it seems backwards (some people hearing about it before others), that it appears that the papers are taken off the pile in reverse order. Here are the same 13 people in the following sorted orders. P3 to P4 times sorted by P3 entered in computer at Guz 129 122 102 121 122 123 122 118 111 112 116 117 111 P3 to P4 times sorted by P4 received date 102 129 122 121 122 123 122 111 118 112 116 111 117 P3 to P4 times sorted by Interview date 117 122 122 129 123 118 102 122 121 116 112 111 111 P3 to P4 times sorted by name check dates. 122 116 111 122 129 122 117 111 123 121 118 Unknown name check date 112 Unknown name check date 102 Unknown name check date
  22. You must not have dealt with enough government workers/agencies. I have asked the monk with the scabby head who conferred with the monk who has lame feet who then sent an email asking about this and he says that they received back an email (in less than a day, but after two previous emails went unanswered for a week) that said something like the following: We have made up our minds and made a decision before hand. However, after suffering long enough and hard enough, depending on how often you bother us, or have other people bother us, and how long it takes for the name check to be processed (which really, is a dart throwing contest at the local watering hole in DC, which is why that takes so long), we will in fact change our mind after you have arrived at the interview after jumping through a bunch of otherwise questionable procedural hoops. If in fact you have done this, we will again change our minds, having previously already decided your fate, which is pretty much 99% pass anyway unless there is something glaringly obviously wrong with your papers, which to be truthful, if we looked hard enough we could find ( or make up if someone who nobody knows sends us an email about you, which we will take to be fact even though we know it isn't, and we certainly wouldn't allow you to respond to), but generally we won't unless someone put the orange juice carton back in the fridge empty the morning of your interview. In which case, we will change our minds from what we had previously decided. If it is your turn that is. There is a long list of students who have been waiting at least two weeks, so be patient. Your in the soon to be waiting schedule, for the waiting to be scheduled, of those who have been waiting to be scheduled of a scheduled interview. Your guess is as good as ours, because we just work here. Don't respond to this email because we won't answer your question anyway. Have a pleasant day.
  23. It seems clear that you can not get an Interview unless you have passed the name check. The data suggests that your Interview date is set within your P3 peer group, unless you don't get the name check passed, then you go into the waiting group. It is not clear how long you wait if this happens, although based on a couple of other previous delayed people and the data below suggests it can be another couple months. I still show 8 people (including you) with April P3's without an Interview. It is not over yet. In this thread I gave the data of the number of days from the P3 to the name check being complete. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11838 The data below is the number of days of those who reported their name check completed date to the date of the P4. 40 86 106 63 91 63 101 23 70 61 83 57 84 83 89 118 101 62 73
  24. Your senator must be happy to take credit for doing nothing since you waited the same amount of time as everyone else in your P3 group. Here are the days of all the interviews I have who got a blue slip in the past year. The data suggests there is no significance to the day of your interview. Congratulations and good luck on your interview. Interview day blue slips list Monday 4 Interviews Tuesday 5 Interviews Wednesday 5 Interviews Thursday 5 Interviews Friday 4 Interviews
