  1. sslotus, along with the other very short times appear to be pregnant. We don't use these time lines for calculations. There have been around 400 new CFL members since January 2005. Maybe a few of them would like to share their timelines, so that all may benefit. goneflying2000, You are on the list under pending CR1's.
  2. darianstarfire, You should have your video stuff put on to VHS format as has been discussed elswhere and in the link and resources of CFL, since the consulate will not accept any other format. It is this fact, that I disgree with, but it being wrong, and us being right won't help. Be ready to jump when they say jump and get it transferred to VHS if you think you should have this on hand. The people who do the video stuff outside the consulate told me they can transfer it it for you. oregonknl, I quite agree with you, which is why I made the effort and was able to go. Certainly there were a number of items I corrected, and talking face to face with my SO with that feedback allowed me to help her trim the the excessive answers. She, and others she talked with felt they should be honest and sincere, but I said this should be tempered with don't give more than necessary. She did not let anyone know what was happening at work, this was a major concern for us if the consulate should call them, and that they might say things to keep their worker, was a concern. Thank you warpbored and sawadee. I only had only used specific blue slip data from the interview tracking data, even though I had more info on my blue slip list of who did have blue slips, but was interested in percentages. MoonCarolCafe was beyond my track list which is why I did not have it, but certainly it should be on the list if the information about it will help in knowing what to avoid. Ahhming and James&Baolin I had on my list but no real tracking info. I have added to the list below. Anyone with further information or changes please let me know and I will add it in for reference. 3. MikeXiao, I would say based on what you are telling us, that this person your SO used for translations services would fall into the catagory of a "third party service" mostly because she did in fact threaten you. If she sent a letter, this could not have been to help you. I have you down as both no apparent reason, further processing I think was your original post, and possible third party. This makes me wonder, if this is how they are going to handle this kind of thing in the future. We will update the list to the 11th and wish you well on this. Bahan, I only have three people down as CR1. Here is the breakdown, but I would not take this data seriously except within the K1 group. Of the three CR1's, all three were there for the interview. Two passed. The third is MikeXiao. Going further, we have 11 K3's, two were blue slipped.(18% blue slipped). 66 K1's, 9 of them blue slipped.(13% blue slipped). While I don't have the interview data specific to CR1 and K3, my own overall impression is they seem to get treated much harsher with the questions. If we look at this from an objective view point, we can assume there really is not much you can ask of a K1, because they are not married, and probably the total time spent together might be an average of a month. The only requirement officially seems to be having met in person. In the CR1/K3 catagory, it sounds like they are rolling in a bit of the AOS process. But because they don't have it down, we see harsher results. Just an opinion. Why do I have this opinion? Because MikeXiao and ChuckandShuping both had very similar experiences. I would go back and read the interview experiences of the following people for a general feel of the interviews: perryf dmaddox74 Lassletter Beijingjenny maxamilagro Martyb Johnxiaoming Mufasa yuan95 Redling ChuckandShuping olemanoman1950 Mike Xiao BobandNicole Since you have children, I guess there is a divorce involved, so I would also be ready with all papers related to this and expect questions on it, probably in regards to the children as well.
  4. Originally decided to keep this information on the list, if the USC was at the Interview, because I took it to mean that it was very likely they would send their passport in with their SO to the interview. As I said in another thread, my SO was primed to get that in front of the VO asap.
  5. I was very concerned about this, because all I had was cheap $5 phone cards from the gas station(No record available). No other phone records because I have years ago cancelled my long distance service. (Who uses this anymore with 2 cents a minute phone cards?),. So I wrote the following letter and signed it and had it in front of all the original phone cards taped six per sheet of paper at the Interview. It was not asked for. I had provide a copy of the phone cards used in my original I-129f submission, with a short note explaining the same thing. MY NAME MYADDRESS DATE US Consulate Guangzhou RE: MY FIANCE, GUZ-2004-XXXXXX Attached: Phone cards Dear Honorable American Consulate of Guangzhou: It is my understanding that phone records are sometimes requested as evidence of a relationship. I have provided the phone cards I have used to call MY FIANCE in China from when we first started talking on line in DATE WE MET ONLINE until INTERVIEW. There is simply no way one could afford to call China without the use of phone cards, which do not provide a printout as the time is prepaid. I regularly call MY FIANCE'S NAME either on her day off from work once a week, or most mornings to wake her up before going to work as that best fits our differences in time zones. These are the original phone card I used to call her only. If you have any questions, I will be waiting outside the consulate during my fiancé's interview on DATE and will be available if needed. Thank you. Sincerely,
  6. I emailed them a total of two times. ( Learned from others, and the consulate, that this was a waste of time to get real info). Did call DOS once a week. Probably a total of 10-12 times. I never registered with GZ. I did enter the consulate the morning of the interview, although I do not know if that counted for anything.
  7. My SO and I both agreed she should answer in English. She felt that she should answer in English, because she had read that some people felt the translator was not doing correct translations (and my SO felt this way herself, that her intent and sincerity would not come across as well as she wanted if she allowed the translator to speak for her). I felt she should so this, no matter what because she can speak English as well as anyone who does not do it every day. It is understanding English speakers she has trouble with. The Interview was conducted in English, but the translator was not dismissed, even though my SO told the VO that she spoke English. I think cosmiclobster brings up a good point/observation.
  8. In answer to the question of "third party" service, I mean specifically the services that you or your SO paid that you met each other through if you used one. Not just a email type service, for example, on match dot com or yahoo meeting. I would not rule out a questionable visa service who is claiming to help you with your visa issues, although I have not noted anyone yet claiming this to have been the cause of their problems. But I will say I don't like the fact of the video making service advertised right outside the consulate, as this tells me there is enough business to make this worthwhile to do. I find this to be borderline criminal, because this can only happen with the participation of the consulate, since you can not provide a cd-rom or 8mm tape, or DVD, or whatever format you use to do video. (Who uses VHS anymore?) This is a situation ripe for corruption. But let me also say, I did not feel these services outside the consulate were like vultures either. Maybe they can just smell desperate people, and ignore those who are not. I agree with warpbored that if you can be there, you can make sure of some things if you think you might fall into the category of possible problems. Problems you prevent before the Interview by being there to check everything. I think my SO was confident before the interview to do it by herself. With me there, I think I really primed her confidence level to the maximum, as I discussed with her all the likely situations, not just questions that could come up. ( Also I carried all that heavy stuff until the last moment, so she could be relaxed, and see my attitude, that this was a done deal, also I practiced with her, where to pull out which papers from the file folder at which time based on the subject matter, always with my letter on top). I also am with the group who think the decision is pretty much made before hand, unless the evidence or questions answered show otherwise. I think they are prepared for both possibilities leaning towards granting it, but denying it if they get their "gut" feeling (Which I disagree with completely, probably the American food). I should add that I too did not want my SO to go to GZ a second time, which is why I had us set aside a full week after the interview for such a problem, or call it an early honeymoon if there was not. We went to Hong Kong and Macau. I assessed our relationship as if I was a VO, and found lots of questions were possible. I figure the time was worth it, which is why I had always been interested in knowing as far ahead as possible the likely interview date, to plan this. It worked out. I also want to bring up one other thing no one mentions, which is that each of us hears what happened at least second to third hand. What really happened at the actual Interview, what is said, what is answered is always in my mind something to wonder about. Also the incomplete stories we get also is something to keep in mind as to why we get incomplete information. Even my own SO is not entirely absolutely certain she related to me all that happened in there, who said what and how it was said. We should keep this in mind as well. Jim-Portland brings up an interesting viewpoint that has merit, so lets take a closer look. Concerning the five who got a blue slip but did not go to the Interview. The first was warpbored, who got blasted out of nowhere with the video request, and he flew there to take care of this. I believe this was one of the first cases of this request. Unavoidable, and only fixable by going there. Next we have rogerluli and leejcandle, both had what I call a minor, probably avoidable paperwork problem. Would being there have changed this? Probably not, because it was just a piece of paper wanted. Next is boba, another video communications request. I do not remember how they resolved this, if he had to go, or if they had one already available to go back with. Last is most recent, jimglot, who is being asked for financials, which is always questionable , but we know they like to pull this request out as a catch all often with other more specific requests, perhaps if there is less evidence than the VO likes. Could this one have been avoided? Don't know, maybe if he was there he could have had the needed things faxed the next day, and be back for an overcome. Maybe if his passport was presented this would have made a difference. Maybe not. One of the three people keeping us updated. I don't have specific data concerning Alex ( but I believe he was not there at the Interview), but he is the other third party problem, along with many other things. He is one of three who we get updates from. Concerning the six who got blue slipped and were there. First lets start with MikeXiao which is the most recent one that is crazy. I put yours into the third party category based on a thread I had read where you talked or asked about this, so I had it down as a question mark if this is the cause. Perhaps you can let us know if you used such a service to either meet or do paperwork? Or the reasons why you thought this might have been it, or why you don't think this now. ( I know they are telling you nothing). If not, I will put it into its own category. Anyway, this one is the tough one I would throw into the 5%, because you were there, and was unable to get an answer from the consulate. You are one of the three listed as keeping us updated. Next is ChuckandShuping third party case, who was also there, and I believe went to great efforts to find the cause of this, and got it resolved. I am saying we now know this kind of thing has a possibility of causing a problem, if you used such a meeting service, or started to use a visa service to help you but stopped on unfriendly terms, make sure you know everything about them, and be ready with a response appropriate to your situation. ( If this were me, today, I would have the appropriate letter already made and my SO primed to know when there seems to be a problem with this, to explain it with the letter when the opportunity presents itself. For example, if you met using such a service, and now there is a problem with them, she could answer when asked how you met with this explanation and the fact that you are now having a problem with them. Will this work? We don't know, but maybe you should consider being ready to try something).( I applied this method to all my potential problem areas). We have njbernie, maxmilagro, Xmarine, and Quoging who had a major paperwork problem and financials, which them being there allowed them to deal with accordingly, however, perhaps they were not quite prepared as they should have been with their evidence and papers, which now you know about, so you too can avoid going down this path. Did they need to be there? A good question. Maybe not. So, taken as a whole, one could say that being there is not really needed, and I would also agree with this assessment, if you have everything covered. I certainly felt I had everything covered, yet two of the few problem areas I anticipated were asked about. Perhaps my being there did not matter. But the first thing my fiancé handed the VO, was her passport, my passport, and my letter saying I was right outside if they had any questions. (Someone else had said they had done this, so I thought it was a good idea.) Again, I was priming my SO's attitude, to be confident and to pinpoint the areas where there could be a problem. That this was just a formality. Two questions occurred, her knowing exactly which documents to pull out, along with my letter for each, because she knew when to do this based on the question asked. Each were glanced at and not touched. Of course the top sheet was my letter, with my signature plain and bold under the final statement saying I am right outside. This is why I am saying, honestly assess your situation, plan accordingly. My estimate is that CFLer's make up less than two percent of those interviewed each month, there is no reason a CFL member should not be nearly 100% pass rate, because you are more informed of the pitfalls to avoid. Not only your general paperwork and relationship evidence, but the areas where previous people have had a problem. Unfortunately, I am sure there can always be a new surprise down the road. A general outline of the letters I wrote, last paragraph was the same for each situation, the first part was changed to the specifics. That way, no matter what came up, they would know I am outside ( I wrote it this way, so that if there was a problem I could storm the consulate to demand to know why my letter was ignored when I had made myself available for any questions. I was also ready with my list of phone numbers to call saying I was in China and unable to get assistance at the consulate, and to strip naked if they did not help me). This is the one that was the first presented with our passports: MY NAME MY ADDRESS MY ADDRESS THE DATE(last possible date before Interview) US Consulate Guangzhou RE: MY FIANCE, GUZ-2004-XXXXXX Attached: Copy of I-797 of petition approval Dear Honorable American Consulate of Guangzhou: It is my understanding that pursuant to 9FAM 41.81 N3.1 (Period of validity), the consulate can extend the approval notice for another 4 months, if my fiancé and I remain legally free to marry and continue to plan to marry after my fiancé enters the United States. Therefore, please be aware: I and my fiancé continue to be legally single and free to marry. I and my fiancé love each other and plan to marry after her arrival in MY HOMETOWN, USA. I sincerely request that you extend the approval notice (copy attached) so that my fiancé, MY FIANCE'S NAME may receive the K-1 visa. If you have any questions, I will be waiting outside the consulate during my fiancé's interview on DATE OF INTERVIEW and will be available if needed. Thank you. Sincerely,
  9. nousername, The USC is the space to put whether you went to the Interview or not with your SO. We probably need to adjust this in the future for display purposes. You got put into this list becaude we did not hear from you within the same week of the interview. It only means that when we posted this list, at that moment in time we had not heard from you, and so you moved up. That way historically, one can go from week to week, and still see if we heard from the person. As you can see, we have quite a few we have not heard from. Maybe they are traveling around and will up date us much later. aquach, It is an optimistic date listed, but it could happen. Current data is running average at 150 days, but previous months says this should go down. Yours is a date that says it goes down further, so probably, 125 days is a more realistic estimate, today. Tomorrow could be different as the data comes in.
  10. Since July of 2004 here on CFL, there have been 99 Interviews with a report of how it went which included some kind of usable data. Of these, 33 US Citizen's did not go to the interview, and five of them got a blue slip. 44 US Citizens went to the Interview, and six of them got a blue slip. The rest 23, the data is not available if they went or not, eight of them got a blue slip. Here is the break down of the blue slips categorized: Paperwork problem (Minor) - 3 Paperwork problem (Major) - 4 Requesting a video - 6 Financial problem - 3 Third party problem - 3 Of these nineteen blue slips, fourteen were resolved, five are not resolved. Three we are getting updates on their status, two we have not heard from. This interview failure rate equates to 19%. Of these, in my opinion, there is enough accumulated data on CFL to show that you should be able to avoid most of these causes of a blue slip. For example, the 3 minor problems were expired or missing papers. Very avoidable. The 4 major paperwork problems, could have possibly have been avoided, because it was a request for papers that were not in hand, although they could be attributed to the VO. This is questionable either way. The 6 requesting a video, although at first for those who got this, it was a new surprise and not avoidable. Now we should hear of this more rarely, because now you know. If you think there might be a communications question, get this made and have on it hand. Maybe even be there as well, and have a written letter explaining it with your evidence. The 3 financial ones, possibly avoidable if all the financial data is there. (Excepting a VO thing). (We can not know what people are providing versus what is being asked for.) With the exception of those who went, were denied, brought absolutely no additional evidence beyond what they had in the first interview, I think we can easily reduce the real failure rate to 5%. In specific relation to the recent "third party" problem, this is new. However, now that we know that this is a potential problem, if you met using such a service, now you know you should take the necessary steps to be prepared for this possibility. Based on the recent polls concerning both handwritten letters and email, clearly hand written letters are rarely requested, and almost no one uses it. Email counts, but clearly it is having some that shows relationship, not the number that counts. (Meaning it is evident in the email that there is a relationship). We can see that there are specific red flags that you can look for in your own situation, and prepare accordingly, now that you are aware of them. For example, it appears that many who have a divorce involved in the past, can count on this being questioned in some way. Prepare your SO to explain this if asked about your divorce. Finally, we can see that on the whole, blue slips are resolvable. Although you may go through hell a second time to get it resolved. Prepare accordingly and gain some benefit from those who have gone before and shared their trials with us.
  11. That is interesting. A change in procedure perhaps? Glad you are done, and thanks for the good information, very important.
  12. The P4 order always starts high for the first of each interview month when the P4s come out. Then it goes down as they back fill. I have includue a chart that shows the order based on the P4 dates from May 1st to May 31st in that order. You can see it is sort of like a weekly or daily thing off each stack of papers, oldest gets assigned first. Maybe this is by last names each day/week. But basically, with the few data points right now my suggestion is to add at least 125 days from your P3 letter date to the date of the interview as an average, based on Junes average. Although the data right now says use 150 days, and maybe one should, but as I say, the first few are always the highest numbers. The good news is they are doing July. So if we assume only a week delay, and based on the huge number for June, perhaps we can expect the wait to at least stay the same as an average. No doubt some people will be much earlier if the trend continues though. But I would stick with 125 days for today. No time to change the list as we are having posting problems, but for wulongtea, based on the latest, I would make it now as a P4 the week of 07/12/05 and an interview around 08/23/05. That would be 125 days from P3 to interview, with 39 days notice. The list is more optimistic accounting for a speed up, but the interview date would not be correct on the list at the top of this thread. For DavidZixuan, the list is based on 114 days based on the June data of assumed two week increase. If we took worst case, and said the latest high of 150 allows for only the same average low of 125, then we would add a week or two more. Still too early to tell what is the pattern going to be. I am hopeful it will be this way still at the worst. Since they are scheduling for July, I will make an assumption that what they might do, is simply tell the person in the morning to come back to the new location in the afternoon? Anything can be done if they want to. So far, I have no one with less than 14 days notice. I dont think there is a leap frog of dates, the last of the month interviews have been assigned this way for months, they come out first, then they bounce to the beginning of the month, back and forth. No different than when there are holidays. Hence the chart. The first chart is the P4 dates as people have reported them with out adjustments, in p4 order from beginning to end of May. The second chart is my shifting each persons P4 date back to the nearest Tuesday to account for the mailing time. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/diogenesfree/Junp4order.gif http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/diogenesfree/ShiftedJunp4order.gif
  13. Looks like it is time for optimism. A new July interview has appeard on 001 forum, and this persons time line follows the normal monthly pattern that I would expect. They are 149 day P3 to Interview, 95 days P3 to P4, and as what usually happens for a new month, plenty of time to prepare with a 54 days from P4 to Interview.
  14. To start, based on months of watching, nothing is certain until Saturday night arrives Yuehan123, thank you for this very important information. Actually, I have always been making the interview prediction on the spread sheet. On occasion I have posted it as well, or if some one asked me in a pm, gave my best guess based on the data of the moment. It is only now with the help of mlspyl are we getting more data into the posting, to include this more regularly. However, this week is going to be a pessimistic / optimistic prediction week. To answer specifically regarding the return of the P3 versus its received date( Letter date is more accurate tracking), just a general impression is that if you don't return it within a week or two from receiving it, you can start adding each day to your wait time that you don't send it back. It is hard to get enough numbers on this, as very few people go beyond two weeks waiting to send this back from receiving it. Those that have, have longer wait times, P3 to Interview in line with the that added time. I say this has to do with the name check counter, meaning that counter can not start until they get the P3. There is an average amount of time for a name check, and they punch this number in for everyone. Because of the latest trends, and the recent rumour mill, I will post some charts so you can make your own guess for what is next. My opinion now, unless we receive new data by Saturday is that everyone is going to be delayed from now on until the move is completed at Guangzhou. This month had twice the number of Interviews on average, and they seem to be trying to speed up. But the pattern of P4's and Interviews have now changed. For example, it was very rare to get an Interview on a Monday. No longer true. It also appears that part of trying to get out as many Interviews as possible, there is a change of the average day they send it out away from Tuesday to a more random pattern. No one has reported receiving a letter telling them to go to the new consulate location (Of course no one except the unverified person on 001 has gotten a July Interview). Based on the previous six months data, we should have people getting July Interviews this week. So there is still time for this, but along with the lunch story from rogerwink, it looks bad today. As I said, today I am just feeling pessimistic and optimistic. The fourth chart shows why. I am actually using an estimated P3 letter date for these charts, as the data seems clear that this is what actually matters for your place in line. If your P3 is entered into the computer within a certain amount of time your Interview still falls in line with your P3 letter date associates. At least with the few letter dates so far accumulated. Then I back check that with the P3 computer entry date, or my estimated one if it is not known, to narrow down the likely P4 date, by comparing the previous months send out pattern. The second reason, is following this theory for the 001 forum allows me to use their data as well, as it seems they averagely are posting this same P3 date, or at least the day they recieved it. Third, while you can't get an Interview or a name check completed until you send your P3 documents back, your total time for waiting starts the date on the P3, as from the Guz point of view, you are holding up the process. When you compare the pattern of the consulates behaviour for April, May and June Interviews, things seem a little wild for June. But the fourth chart shows it could be argued that this is not true from a trend point of view, they are just doing more work. A specific note for CR1's, I have marked the CR1's for the June chart in bright green for 001 CR1's, and the only CFL CR1, Bahan, in bright blue. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/diogenesfree/jun2jun.gif http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/diogenesfree/May2jun.gif http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/diogenesfree/April2jun.gif http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/diogenesfree/3monthoverlay.gif
  15. Here are the number of days from when the petition left NVC to the P3 date/received for the last 13 people we have data on who are waiting for their P4 (K1/K3 list). 47 35 42 34 61 63 31 36 46 28 28 45 71 An average of 44 days. It would be interesting if someone found a pattern of which shipment is the one, and even trying is a good thing. Good work and good try, ed and ying. Since we appear to be at a cusp with the interviews, and I have not looked at everyones date to see who is over two months, but are these packages really piling up? I mean more than normal? It would seem reasonable based on the above numbers that if you are at 60-70 days without a computer entry, it might be time to start getting concerned. But what can you do when they don't do the work they are paid to do. I think it is outrageous that this part of the process should take longer than a week or two at best. There is no one we have on the spread sheet who has reported their petition leaving NVC after 03/30/05 and having it arrive in the Guz system.
  16. I agree one should study the data. Hand written letters are not needed, and this would be a first. This is why I wrote letters for each section of things they might cause us a problem with, explaining it, and welcoming them to call me inside since I was outside waiting. Since two of the pices of evidence requested had these letters, I make some allowance that this may have had some affect. Or none at all. I am firmly with the group that says it is all decided before you show, which is why your intial application is what is critical. Blue slip interview dates most recent first. ---------------------Interview----Reasons K1---njbernie----------04/15/05------See below/resolved 1) Yellow slip: Did not present enough information for a bonified relationship. 2) Green slip: Affidavit of support, 2004 tax returns & proof of self-employment (I am self employed, therefore no W2 or payroll receipts). 3) Pink Slip: Letter from petitioner on when we met and how me established our relationship. 18. I get so angry ever time this comes up. The only thing I see is another pile of BS from a government worker. I dare them to give us any kind of real statistics concerning fraud and K1/K3 visa's. I dare anyone to give me this information. It is a joke to think that all the fraud is committed through less than 10 percent of the total visa's, which is what we are. All those tourist, business and school visa's must have no fraud, which is why they process them in less than thirty days. We put up with a huge amount of BS from bureaucrats, and every time I hear this one it makes my blood boil. They are just making excuses to cover up their incompetance and discrimination, plain and simple. There is absolutely no reason to give a blue slip to our class of visa without looking at the the evidence that is brought to the interview, including the petitioner who is standing outside. In fact, if the petitioner is there, and it is thought of as maybe fraud, then why are they letting all these fraud commiting petitioners get away? Failing to look at that evidence at the time of the interview is a violation of their own rules. Am I too harsh? No, because if they had a real job, they would be fired. We already have anecdotal evidence that our class of visa's are being discriminated against as a matter of consulate policy. Sorry about the vent. The consular officer should provide the visa applicant with adequate opportunity to present evidence establishing the bona-fide nature of his or her application. 9 FAM 41.102 N5 Conduct of Visa Interviews (TL:VISA-556; 07-17-2003)

  20. Oh...tee-hee, you mean that little note obscurly buried within the text of a subject to do with something else entirely. I gave that the proper attention it deserved. I suppose the moving of the consulate really is a small thing of note, and we need not be concerned. While I was tracking waiting for our P4, I kept my SO up to date with the latest trends, cautioning along the way that it could move sooner, or later, and this was part of our phone discussions so we always had something to talk about if we ran out of things that day. Her life, and my life are not that easy to change on a consulate whim, and we needed as much heads up as possible to plan.
  21. I do not recall anyone saying they talked to a VO after a denial, but to the people at American Citzens Services. There is a set time for overcome evidence to be presented on the consulates web page. http://www.usembassy-china.org.cn/guangzho...hou/iv/new.html CFL is running about a 10% denial rate since June 2004. That seems low from one point of view, and high from another. (Most have been overcome.) This concerned me as well, which is why I prepared five different letters for each aspect of my own situation that I thought could cause a problem for my fiance to have on hand to present along with the evidence as it was asked for. Of these, two were presented with the evidence, but none were really looked at, just glanced at with out touching them. However, my letter was the one on top of each stack my fiance had handy to present. In keeping with the other thread concerning the answering of questions. My fiance and I had practiced this, but I made sure she understand to keep the answers simple and to the point. To understand what it is that is being asked, not just rote memory. To answer "I don't know" if she did not know. Talking with another American while there, he was cautioning his fiance the same way, because she wanted to give longer answers, but after talking with us, she seemed to follow her fiance's advice, kept it simple and also was prepared with the answers to their own situation that also had certain items of possible difficulty. Yes, they were asked about them as well. What I mean by prepared with the answers, is not the actual answers, but the idea that each of us had was to make sure our fiance's understood the situations associated with what we thought they might be asked about. For example, the reasons for the petitioners previous marriage and subsequent divorce.
  22. Hmmm, well since the consulate does not have on their web page that they are moving, I suppose we could assume there is no move until otherwise noted. However, when I was at the window, one answer I got to my question was that the consulate will be in a new location on June 22nd. This could have been a blow off answer, as after all, this is usually the kinds of answers than seem to be the norm. But on the other hand, that could have just been the hopeful idea at the time. Things change, things happen. I am thinking that yes, we could see an effect from the move, or we already did last month. Or we will see one in the future. Only the Great and Powerful Guz knows. However, one would expect, that those who have received their interview dates after June 22nd, would have told us that their appointment is somewhere else other than on Shaiman Island. Going further, I will assume no move is made, or being made until someone with an appointment letter tells us they have such a letter. Or their web page tells us. But since their web page tells us that the news of mailing of visas is to start April 27th, but the news of this is not posted until May 5th, perhaps we will know of this move a few weeks after it is completed. (Okay, maybe I am a little critical, since I do know they posted it earlier, just being funny). Yes, a different accounting of dates, but I think after this we will just post based on a consolidated pattern based on the extrapolation of P3 letter dates/P3 computer entry dates for both. Interview/P3 list for 1st week of June 2005. Good luck to everyone for the next week. Need the dates in the upper left hand corner of your P3 and P4 letters please from 2004-2005. 23. The P4 to Interview has always been a constant. This makes sense, because you need to give the beneficiary some time to get a plane ticket and and make job arrangements, as realistically, a person's life is complex and you can not expect them to show up at a moments notice. I don't know how this works for the faster student and tourist visa, but since they appear to get to call for themselves to schedule their interview, this is probably the difference. Perhaps someone else has more information on this process.. The P3 to P4 more realistically tracks, for the people who have given me the actual dates on their P3 and P4 letters. Take that as another plea to all readers to please provide the actual dates on your P3 and P4 letter in the upper right hand corner of these two letters. In my opinion, the speed up is not directly related the increase in windows (no, not Microsoft). We can note that if they are moving the weekend of the 18th, that there is no notable affect on the number of interviews for the month of June after this date. 34 Interviews before June 18th and 33 Interviews after June 20th. (For both CFL and 001). In general, we know the average name check takes 30 to 60 days from the little data reported. Realistically, at any time, they can choose to move this class of visa interviews forward if they wish to, but probably limited by this name check process which is out of Guz's hands. By doing it incrementally, like any organization, they can do so by following some internal plan. We get to see this plan result, based on the data reported. Can they suddenly make it much less time? Why not? How about an interview scheduled the moment the name check is passed? However, my feeling on the numbers is the time is set by the date of the P3 letter, x number of days must pass, then a check to see if name check is cleared. The oldest point on the graph is on the title, 11/01/04 dated P3. I arbitrarily chose this point trying to keep the graph readable. Older posts have similar graphs running back to June 2004, but I am trying for a simpler one to look specifically at the comparsion to show the probable decrease, which appears to be more per month than the usual two weeks. This graph in particular, combines the data from both sites together, with my extrapolation as to the likely dates being used to try and get them both to be line with each other. I believe I have this as close as possible without my SO here to help me extract more specifc answers on the Chinese side to clear up certain questions. I think I noted before CFL got crunched this week, that the rapid decrease in interview time could simply be a stack of papers getting shifted in order, and so lucky for them. However, we do have concrete data showing a general decrease in the wait time, so I prefer to go with that. The general downward trend has been happening since July P3's, up to November. In December, there was a set back, an now we are just now where we were in November, and if what we see at 001 is correct, it should continue. Sunny unless it rains. Here are 14 peoples P3 to P4 letter dates number of days between the two dates. The date listed being their P3. The problem is I still do not have enough, and I have to guess for half of these. The ones that have a question mark means I have only one of the two letter dates, the other date I make an extrapolation based on the data given. 11/08/04 113 12/03/04 137 12/04/04 115 ? 12/06/04 112 ? 12/08/04 140 12/10/04 109 12/13/04 127 12/21/04 143 ? 12/22/04 126 12/23/04 126 12/28/04 122 01/09/05 124 ? 01/11/05 125 ? 01/31/05 108 Overall, I am constantly shaking my head at the thought that the American side of these relationships in general is so socially backward that we can not get the number of reports to at least match the ones on 001. It's kind of embarrassing to explain that America is socially immature to foreigners. (Except to Europeans, they know this already).
  24. Congrats yuehan123 and thanks for the updated time line. We will bring the list back up to date from the recent data loss, hopefully later today. Here is a chart showing the last 73 people who have gotten an Interview from both CFL and 001 in their P3 relational date order. CFL data points are in bright blue. The one bright green data point appears to be a pregnancy on 001. Certainly the trend is downward, but how much more to be expected for the next month? Next week should tell us. My estimation is the continued general trend of two weeks (per month average), but could be three or more weeks based on the last two CFL dates and last ten 001 dates. However, here are the last 14 received P4's from 001 in P3 date order. First number is days from P3 to Interview, the second number are days from P3 to P4. (This matches the chart below of the last 14 data points so that you can see the relationship between the one CFL data point and the lacking CFL data for the rest of the matching time period.) 129 97 124 98 (CFL Member) 131 97 125 86 120 91 125 91 125 91 124 91 112 73 108 77 94 63 122 55 (July Interview Date) 78 49 (Pregnancy?) 69 44 http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/diogenesfree/Last73V2.gif
