  1. Same here. I got tired of the whole nickname/alter-ego thing that seems so common on the net. I use my real name here, Yahoo/email, website, and just about everywhere else. I was lucky that my wife was much more discreet.
  2. Based on the information in your post, it sounds like this woman has already gone through AOS and has a two year conditional green card. If her divorce is finalized and the abuse was a factor, then that should serve as evidence of her good faith when her residency come up for renewal. As others have said, your friend should consult with a good immigration attorney. Here is one that I would highly recommend; http://candleforlove.com/list/index.php?act=details&id=85
  3. I added my wife to my medical insurance effective on our wedding day with no SSN. It should not be a problem.
  4. Congrats! Hopefully you've passed the halfway point in the process!
  5. I was poking around some other sites today looking for some more info about these I-485 transferrs to CSC. I came across this; ...and this was posted on visajourney... If this turns out to be true it is very good news. Not holding my breath yet, but it's the most optimistic news I've seen on the wave of transfers.
  6. Congrats on the visa! Our wishes for Amy to get healthy and you both to have a long wonderful life together.
  7. Congrats!!! Really glad to see you made it through. Now you can put that behind you and look forward to your new life together!
  8. Our case should eventually land us at the Boston office. Not sure that the case was ever there. Applied to the lockbox in Chicago, did biometrics in Boston in June, and now this. I'm hoping it means we are close to having an interview scheduled. Other recent Boston timelines I've seen have been running 11-13 months.
  9. Just got the same email also. Seems like a strange route, but hopefully it is a good thing....
  10. Interesting! First one I picked was PRC and was also denied because of not having met the person in the past two years. This one claimed that travel was not possible for the petitioner because of the use of supplemental oxygen. http://uscis.gov/graphics/lawsregs/adminde...604_02d6101.pdf
  11. I tend to agree with this thinking. Look at the other timelines. As long as your case is staying close to the averages, that is the best you can reasonably hope for. One's elected representatives are great potential resources if something has gone wrong in your case, or it has been held up for something like the namecheck. I totally understand your frustation with the process, but this is 'how it is' and with the current climate in the world, it is not likely to change soon. The best thing to do is to look around at other recent cases/timelines like yours and make a realistic estimate of when your wife will get an interview, and prepare both you and her for that wait.
  12. Jason, At what airport did this happen? Was it the same one she used for her initial POE?
  13. Congrats!!! Wishing you both a very happy future together!!! Have a safe trip back!!!
