  1. You had a very long journey. But now the good times begin!!
  2. We got the green card in the mail while we were in China! It will be nice to go through immigration line without waiting in that little office.
  3. Congrats Jason!! We're right behind you!
  4. My wife and I had the interview yesterday, Nov 8th and we passed with flying colors. Althought I think the ultrasound pictures of our baby girl definitely helped. So we will go back to China this Friday to take care of some financial things and be back on the 19th.
  5. Could someone please help me with this?
  6. My wife came to the US on a k-1 visa. It may be a year or more before she gets her green card but she needs to go back to China to take care of some unfinished business. I got the I-131 but I can't make heads or tales of it. It seems that it is only for permanent residents. And the advance paraole section it really confusing. I can't even tell if she even qualifies. We currently have our I-485 pending, but it seems advance parole is only for extreme circumstances.
  7. They gotta give it to ya this time. Still prayin' for ya dude!
  8. We had to get the another medical exam because we live in VA. USCIS requested it. You need to call USCIS and tell them what your postal code is or check with your local immigration office to be safe. If it is required and you do not send it in you will get the friendly little yellow slip that will tell you that you have 87 days to get the exam by a civil surgeon and send it back in with the yellow slip. Sometimes appointments are 2 months in advance if they are really backed up.
  9. Well, we had the required medical exam for all AOS applicants who came over on a k-1 It took around 15 min. They basically asked her "Have you ever been terminally ill?" "Has anyone else in your family have a history of any terminal illness.?" She didn't need any vaccinations because we got them in April or any additional blood tests because we already had them at the OBGYN. Oh..... I forgot to mention....... WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!
  10. I've kind of drifted away also. I only check back about once a week. We've been very busy also. The AOS turned out to be a big fiasco but I think that is behind us now. I haven't had much to report lately but everything is going smoothely now.
  11. Trigg found out that they can request it any time. My particular area I guess requires the additional check up.
  12. Mark: Call a number of civil surgeons until you find one that knows the rules a little better! It seems that some of these "civil" surgeons are so accustomed to taking advantage of unknowing immigrants that they are starting to make their own rules! Just my 2 yuan, of course! Unfortunately, this was requested by the USCIS. I got the yellow slip asking for additional evidence.
  13. We are still waiting for July 8th to get her medical check up. She came over with a K-1 visa, with the medical exam to get over here in the first place, yet still they requested an additional one.
