This day is coming soon, I leave for China this friday. I am excited and very nervous. I will be in China for 22 days and we have plans to go meet her parents and family. Its going to be so akward to see her right in front of me. Words like "I love you" will mean a lot more when said in person then over the phone. I wonder what type of adventure I am going to get from all of this. I will be flying from Okinawa, Japan. So I got lucky on this part of the trip, only 5 hours total flying time. I am taking RMB 1800 that I exchanged for while I was here in Japan. That should be enough to last me a couple days? How much do you guys think I will need for 22 days? I was going to pull out $1000 and exchange it there on a "as need" basis. Lets see, 2 boxes of pepto bismol - checkvisa - checkflight itinerary - checkRMB - checkPassport - checkBox of condoms - double check Looking to share my experiences with you all when I get back!! You shouldn't need a lot of money for hotels, even if you're staying in some (she should be able to get you into local Chinese hotels for $30 or so a night); food is cheap. Your biggest expense might be gifts for the family (consult with her on that). You haven't said how old you are or how long you've known this lady. I just want to advise against jumping into bed too early with a Chinese woman if in your mind you're still "trying the relationship out." This is my opinion (and experience), but sex with a woman from China is a serious step that should lead to a committed relationship. This might be different with the younger generation (folks, jump in and correct me if I'm wrong on this). I think westerners are used to going much further in intimacy before deciding to commit as compared to Chinese (women at least). On the other hand, I read about Chinese twenty-somethings living with boyfriends on university campuses nowadays (Mommy doesn't know), so maybe I'm out of date on this.
