ameriken
My SO and I were talking tonight about some of the information posted in the USCONGUZ section, and she suggest we say something. When she realized how busy the Consulate is…….over 30,000 visa’s per year, she felt a little bit more relaxed about why the process takes so long. She had the idea, that perhaps we should even say “Thank you” to GUZ. There has been an apparent speed up of P-3 to Interview, and I am sure that is something we all want. While Jie and me, like everyone else here, are feeling the frustration of waiting, only seeing each other at rare times, spending countless hours online, on the phone…..together yet apart, we also realize that we are not the only two people with a file in that office. We have spent almost the last two months calling the Visa Call Center, DOS, DHL, etc and everyday we have the same question……..”Where’s our P3? When will we be together?” I know many people have spent many countless more months waiting. I know I have had my share of negative feelings, yet, I have to check myself on this. No matter what we think about the process, or what we think about GUZ, it is really outstanding that someone from the busiest Consulate in the world is taking the time to read through our posts, respond, as well as post other information. For Jie, she would like to say “Thanks GUZ……..and keep speeding up !”. She also added, “I hope when people read this post, that they really can understand our writing, and maybe will feel better in the diffcult wait time!” For myself, I also would like to thank whoever it is at USCONGUZ that is reading, writing, and responding, and I would also like to thank CFL for bridging this together, as well as all the members here for their time and support through this journey. I just wanted to say that you have a very smart woman who also has a very generous heart like most of the other Chinese women regarding to spending their every single day in this utterly overwhelming period! We all suffer more or less in many ways, and we all know what it takes to bring our beloved ones back in the future. While not like others,we have unfairly had numerous days not being able to be with our loved ones. That's not fair..however..nothing is fairable in this world.. Good luck to all of the Chinese-US lovers!!!!! Thanks to those two countires' natural and policies stuff, it has made us awesome couples!!!!!! notrevorich
Yes we should thank some one in the GUZ management for addressing this long standing and well known problem, that being that the Chinese K-1 and K-3 processing times were the Slowest of any country . Getting that changed or even trying to get that problem solved is impressive to me . But I give the CFL IT'S DUE CREDIT Link to comment

Guest ShaQuaNew
I think living life in a way that has us treating others as we'd like to be treated is just a good thing. The United States Immigration has a daunting task of dealing with the good and bad people of the world. I am patient when I see the machine working like it's supposed to, but I find it inexcusable that while some move through the system quickly and efficiently, others become the victim of senseless delays often caused by incompetency. Sometimes these delays amount to only a few hours or days, and while a real bummer most of us can see our way through it. But, far too often, these delays take on the face of a nasty monster, with days mounting to weeks, which then turn to months, and in extreme cases years. Part of being an American citizen is to use your right to vote. Also, when you see injustice and inefficiency in the way your tax dollars are spent to speak up about it. GUZ does indeed have tough task, and I am grateful for their work in bringing happiness to countless families. While there may be many that are good apples, don't forget that there are bad ones out there too.... Edited November 15, 2005 by ShaQuaNew (see edit history) Link to comment

Sure, maybe it is not necessary - but it certainly can't hurt!!!If they feel their work is noticed and appreciated - perhaps they will try even harder? But this still does not make matters any better for the many who get caught in the denial stages!!! shyaushu
The recognition that GUZ is doing a better job is well meant, and, in some ways, well-deserved. They do have their work cut out for them. But let's face it, they are NOT an altruistic charity organization; they are a government agency that is funded to do their job with our tax money. We all pay thousands every year in taxes (federal income taxes, federal highway taxes, other hidden taxes) and I for one expect something for my money. Not a miraculous, perfect bureauocracy, but at least an efficient, well-run ship doing the people's work. All this talk of "terrorism" and "theats" notwithstanding, what we have here is a huge number of harmless, well-meaning people who only desire "permission" to be with their spouses or finacees, and a miniscule number of black sheep hidden among them. In my humble opinion, some serious examination and review of those trying to gain entry to our country is absolutely necessary. But the system is still completely backward. It is skewed toward finding the needle in the haystack, instead of simply separating the hay and finding the needle that is left. So the cows starve while we look for the needle that might choke one of them! In other words, the great number of obviously sincere, innocuous applicants should be identified on a priority basis, granted their visas, and the remainder sifted through to find the tiny few who have ill intentions. In this way the obviously worthy applicants could be identified in a matter of 2 or 3 months and the rest of us would be spared the agony and humiliation we are all so familiar with. So, I will offer my kudos when GUZ follows this strategy and I really feel I am getting my money's worth. For the moment, paying them thousands of my hard-earned dollars to keep my wife and I in such agony while they search for the one person from some "suspect" county with a match in his shoe is a ridiculous way to conduct business. I should be charitable at this point, since my wife has just been granted an interview appointment, but the agony of this last year is still too fresh in my mind and my mouth. Link to comment

kaigaorui
Before reading this post, i just called the visa center, and told the specialist my number, and how i just wanted them to know that we just passed and thanks for their assistance in the matter. My guy is no longer there, but I still asked her to send a little thank you note to all the specialists for us. I know that sounds kind of corny, but i really dont think I would want that job, since most calling are not going to be very happy. So I thought Zi would send a little balance their way. Call me corny, but thought I would share. Link to comment
chef4u
......the wheels keep on turning and cheetos stocks keep on rising. But, I commited myself to do what ever it takes to be with my love one. I will give kudos when needed and certainly give unbelivable criticism if injustices has occured to my SO, myself or any of my new friends from Candle. I have yet to be entered into the process, (hope to have initial k-1 application sent to Houston by weeks end). Therefore, the only judgements that I can say about GUZ is from posts that I have read on this site. Obviously in some cases they have made people dreams come true and in others they have destroyed those dreams. My only wish is that those of us who are sincere in our efforts to be with our love ones can one day be together. The good news now for I and my SO is that GUZ can never take away our hearts, our minds, and our souls. Thus, it is these things that will make us patient while we go through this task. Our hearts and our spirits are much stronger than GUZ. Link to comment
