Yeah, I have to agree with Jesse. Don't get me wrong, there are definite hot looking Chinese women on those dating sites. However, when I am walking the streets of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou or Shenzen,OMG, multiply the hotties on the dating sites by more than 50% or haigher , you need to grab hold of a lampost before ya go into a cardiac arrest. Dudes, these women are soooooooo much more beautiful than the dating site chicks. As Jesse pointed out, these women DO NOT need to be puttin there fatches on any old dating site....Just don't need too. They have two or three high-end automobiles, big ass houses, important executive jobs, more money in the bank than they even know they have, wardrobes that come from all the big top world designers, (probably they know them on a first name basis), highly educated and the list goes on. The point is, Chinese women, back twenty years ago, did NOT have this freedom to even think about such success. They were raised to become a house wife and have a child, while the husband would go to work and chase other women after work. A Chinese women, even today, who is 40ish and not married, will probably never be married, because CHINESE men don't want a wife that old. And here is the other point to this story...are ya ready?....Chinese CULTURE still believes the man is the bread winner of their famiy. They run away from this class of women. I have asked my uni. female students, who will be about 23 to 24, whenthey graduate, what will they do after their graduation...THEIR ANSWER..find a good husband and raise a family. Hey all, thanks for the welcome backs. Anyway, I enjoy being stared by all the Chinese. Why? Because, when they are staring, I put a huge smile on my face and frantically wave at them. Of course, I have the last laugh as they soon find themselves crashing their bodies into a nearby lamp post or another person. Ah, the failure of the Chinese to let go of long stares at a lil old laowei. But seriously, I always have fun smiling and waving back at them;to see their boyish/girlish laughing, giggling responses are...simply priceless.

Amaro, I would higly recommmend checking out the follwing: http://middlekingdomlife.com/guide/ this will give you a general idea of living and teaching in China. One major advice I can give you, be very careful of some of those job posting sites. Some of them only want a warm,native English speaker, who has a heart beat. In addition, DO NOT come to China to work as a teacher on a tourist visa, with the promise, we will help you get your Z Visa and residence permit. Since living and teaching in China, I personaly know quite of few Americans and Aussies, who got burned under similiar circumstances and needed to return home to get it all worked out. Finally, you should be patient and complete that degree. At best, you need to have a TESOL or TEFL certificate to teach in China. To be told othrwise, your looking at a sweat job, that pays very low, works ya to death and your living quarters would be such, a pig would refuse to live in..lol Anyway, wish you all the best. :-)

does your wife have an ICBC cash card? This card is similiar to a USA bank debit card only;not supported by Visa Visa debit bank card. It would only be a debit card for withdrawl of any monies she may have in a savings or cash account; China does not have or supports checking accounts. I think she just needs to locate an US ATM machine that supports UnionPay, not PLUS, NYCE or INTERLINK. If she still has an ICBC Debit card only, it's worth a shot trying. Good luck! :-)

No worries with Air China...flown them, (when going into Beijing) and China Southern (when flying into Guanzhou). I read somewhere Air China is the safest airline of all China's airlines. Maybe it was Air China's flight magazine...

For my good friend Tony Terrific's request. Tony, have your SO change the cooking method to wok vs grilling. Also, she can use rice vs Orzo and any kind of fresh colorful veggies. Of course, if she has a grill and can get orzo then good to go too.. Buon Appetitio Neapolitan Calamari and Shrimp Salad Prep Time: 30 min Cook Time: 15 min 4 to 6 servings Ingredients 4 cups chicken broth 1/2 pound orzo pasta (about 1 cup) 1/2 pound calamari, whole bodies and tentacles 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined 2 zucchini, sliced lengthwise, about 1-inch wide 1 Japanese eggplant, sliced lengthwise, about 1-inch wide 2 Roma tomatoes, halved lengthwise 1 (15-ounce) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed 3 ounces arugula (about 3 cups) 3/4 cups chopped fresh basil leaves 1/4 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley 2 lemons, juiced 2/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt 1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper Directions In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over high heat. Add the pasta and cook until tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain pasta and place in a large bowl. Meanwhile, place a grill pan over medium-high heat or preheat a gas or charcoal grill. Drizzle the fish, zucchini, eggplant, and tomatoes with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill the calamari and shrimp, just until cooked through, about 1 to 2 minutes a side. Grill the zucchini and eggplant until tender, about 4 minutes a side. Grill the tomatoes just until grill marks appear, about 2 minutes. Add the orzo, cannellini beans, arugula, basil, and parsley to the bowl. Cut the calamari bodies into 1-inch rings. Cut the zucchini, eggplant, and tomatoes into roughly about 1-inch cubes. Add the vegetables and calamari to the bowl with the lemon juice, extra-virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. Toss to combine. Finally, add the shrimp on top of the salad. Gently spoon the salad into a serving bowl and serve.

In addition, check out Happy Valley Seafood Restaurant located on Jimmy Carter Blvd...off I-85 in Norcross, GA., (a suburb of Atlanta). I took about 40 Chinese business people who were in the States for a trade show at the Atlanta Convention Center. We had very good Dim Sum..what a riot... Also, a few stores down is the brand new Hong Kong Super Market. Inside this huge Asian food store is a food court. The food court comprises of a Chinese bakery and BBQ. In addition, it has malaysian, Japanese, filipino and many other ethnic food stalls...very cheap. All I know is, the Chinese business people went crazy inside this market...buying all kinds of fresh fruits and other items. Finally, another Asian area in Atlanta that I explored was all up and down an area called Bufford Highway. Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Thai and even Mexican...go figure. Honestly, I thought I died and went to heaven. In addition, you will see a lot of different Asian businesses supporting their Asian heritage. Worth a visit here too. Good Luck and Buon Appetito!!...

As mentioned..have her fill this form out while on the plane. If and I'm sure she will have some difficulty understanding some questions...Chinese flight attendants are availabe to assist. Now this cracks me up!! There probably are a bunch of Chinese reading an article of 50 food items that we eat here in US that have many harmful chemicals that we consume daily. Please do not ASSUME our famous FDA & USDA departments are on the ball. Do you know exactly what each of those printed chemicals are label on the packages you buy. Probably can't even properly pronounce them let alone know what they are. Referencing the oils that are tainted in China, the next time you eat something fried and the stomach is upset...it's probably not because you ate something fried...it was the oil used to fry your food. It was tainted, old or just not filtered properly. And in referencing our restaurants....well, being a professional chef for so many years ....if I told you half of what I saw done in the back of the kitchen, I'm positive you'll be thinking twice about dinning out. Even in the most upscale restaurants, (where I've have only worked). Anyway, my point is ...shit happens all over the world ..we Americans are not immune....so BON APPETITO!!!

All great suggestions above. Lilyana went to Weibo School, located in the Tai An Da Sha Building. Lilyana said that everybody in Nanning knows this building... Before she started, her English was Mensa Mensa at best. She started at their beginners course and finished after completing the intermediate course. During one of my visits, she gave me an extra copy of her text books. So, we would practice English many of days when we would see each other on our web cams. I was amazed how quickly she picked up both speaking and reading....hope this helps. Please give my best to all....

First, and not to get too far off of topic, my favorite hot dog brand is Vienna Brand, out of Chicago !! They are one of the brands that have the 'snap' of the natural casing, when you bite into them and no fillers like most of the cheaper ones contain. Chinese and Japanese say that anything between two buns is a burger...So yes, a hot dog and sausage are the same..
