If I was a terrorist why would I go to China, become engaged, go back to china to get married, file a cr-1 and k-3 petition to wait for over a year to get past the security clearance and continue to travel back and forth to China on a regular basis? If I were a terrorist I would just blow things up usually myself with it. Getting married to a Chinese national and being a terrorist is an oxymoron. Like looking for auto parts in the deli section of the local supermarket. It is a little scary to think that the legals are going through such difficulty while the illegals are the ones that usually pose more of a threat. Do I need to remind anyone and every one where and how the 9/11 attackers obtained there travel papers?...........................um illegally of course.

What does "ELIGIBLE FOR INTERVIEW" mean?
eeyore replied to Homeprincess's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Most cases, not mine -
I spoke to someone at NVC today and they tried to transfer my to a supervisor, no one was available but the rep did say she would escalate the case and notify a supervisor, she agreed that the security clearance is taking a long time. I did not get to speak to a supervisor to request an inquiry so hopefully the rep will do what they said and ask a sup to make the necessary follow up. its not great results but at least its a start. Too bad it took 10 months of security delay to even get a little help.

Ya, looks like I got a royal screwing. I really don’t think at this point my wife will get pass the clearance. There is no reason that I can see for such a lengthy delay except for total inept and incompetence. I can’t believe how NVC is treating me, after talking to them today they refused to let me speak to a supervisor or offer any assistance to complete an inquiry, they gave me the same run-a-around that they have been giving me for almost a year now. I was told again that it’s due to 9/11 but if that was the case how is it that others have gotten through much sooner? What makes them think I or my wife could be terrorist or pose a terrorist threat as opposed to others? I know a person that married a girl from Nicaragua about 6 months ago and she is already living here. She comes from a hostile country, very poor and if I remember correctly they have a habit of burning our flag in the streets, so sure, give her the green light. I can’t believe I’ve paid for, and pay taxes for this. This has left a real bitter taste in my mouth for sure. If it was based upon equal treatment I would not be so upset but it is clearly not. I have done nothing wrong to get such poor treatment yet I feel like I’m being accused, tried and convicted without being able to face the accusers and when no crime has even been committed. Terrorism is not as bad of the threat to the Amrican way of life as is paranoia………………………………good night and good luck.

This really s@#k big time. I am planning to go to Shanghai/Lijiang/Xishuangbanna next week. Does this mean I have to put up with those lousy 3 star hotel? It just means that your government will have an excuse prolong your visa journey.

My wife and I are waiting for the dreaded security clearance for both our k-3 and cr1 (k-3 clearance stated 2/5 and cr-1 started 7/5). I've been calling dos and nvc weekly and faxed guz (cr-1 transferred to guz). I've also contacted congress and the F.B.I. to no avail. So if anyone has any ideals as to how to get the name check to move forward please give me some much needed advice.

K-3: Evidence of relationship with I-129F
eeyore replied to xtal's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
In some cases (like mine) a request for further info was requested. I just sent some photos, copies of airline tickets, and copies of my visa to China. The request was made before the case was transferred to GZ, see my timeline. I believe that if you do not recieve a request for further info, then you should just plan to have it for the interview. -
Post P4 or Pre-Interview Syndrome (PPS or PIS)
eeyore replied to wulongtea's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Ya, I'm suffering the same only I'm neglecting just about everything. The house is a mess, the yard is a wreck, haven't washed the truck (inside or out) in at least 6 months. Don't call my family or friends, stopped posting on cfl. Thankfully I will be going back to China soon but will be coming home alone again. We are still waiting for the namecheck to be completed for both k3 and cr1. -
Anyone get their P4 lately?
eeyore replied to chinashawn's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Still waiting on p4, still no word on name check. -

Name check frustrations continue
eeyore replied to eeyore's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Called dos and fbi, got the total run-around. called nvc and was told name-check not complete. So after a week of inquiring, I know the same thing that I new before inquiring dos stated fbi does not allow name check inquires. Looks like it might be time to consider moving to China. -
Name check frustrations continue

David, Thanks for the links, I will check them out when I have time. Thomas. -
I called dos and was told no activity on the file, not sure what that means since they are supposed to be doing the security screening. Does anyone have contact info for fbi? The info I have is out of date. Thanks

It has been 4 months now and the name check is still not done. How long should it take? Has anyone contacted the F.B.I. and received a responce or results? I don't think our case has fallen into a black hole but I think I can see the event horizon. I'm getting a little concerned, seems to me that the name check should be done by now. Any insight into the name check would be welcomed. Thanks.

Not sure if I should even respond since my wife is still in China but I'm really hoping her transition to life in the states will be smooth. I live in a small mid-west town and she lives in Shanghai so just that alone will take some getting used to, hopefully a quiet life will be a nice change for her. It takes a lot of courage to marry a foreigner then move to their country, there are so many unknowns and no guarantees (remember jany's story). I think that most people can adjust as long as they get the support they need from their so. Personally, I plan to travel around the u.s. with my wife when she finally gets here. I think that seeing the country will be something she will enjoy and help her find something to like about living in the states. I know that traveling around in China makes me want to go back which is also something I plan to do. If my wife gets too homesick we will go to Shanghai for a vacation.
