1. Congratulations on ten years!!!! I haven't been on this site for a while. My wife and I will be celebrating our ten year wedding annivesary in 2014 and we have cfl to thank for helping us through the visa process. I spent many lonely hours reading and posting here while waiting for her visa, now its a sentimental journey to look through all those old posts. I hope everyone has a great 2013
2. Mike, thats good advise to rent an automatic, we plan to do that for the driving test. My wife is doing better than she thinks (and of course I have told her so) but its taking a little longer than she expected. I'm sure she will be driving soon enough. T
3. Thanks for your help. I will write the local health dept a letter and see where things go from there.
4. When my wife completed the physical for visa she tested positive for tb, she had the x-ray and is was negative. She was told by several health professionals in China that she did not need any treatment and it was just a false positive (possibly since she was vaccinated as a child), She was instructed to bring the x-ray to the p.o.e. and they would review it. When she arrived they instructed her to go to the county health dept and they preformed another tb test and -x-ray, the results were the same (positive test and neg x-ray). Now the health dept sent a letter recommending treatment or sign a letter of refusal of treatment. Does anyone have any experience w/this and will this have any effect on her visa if she refuses treatment at this time. As always, thanks for any insight.
5. After the name check started, once they hit about 6 months I knew there was a possible delay or at least the potential. I called dos every week for several months and got the same canned response, name check/security clearance still pending. I called and wrote Marty H. office (assistant sec of homeland security) and received a response by letter (about 6 months into the name check and about 1 1/2 yrs into the process) "still pending, security delay". The I contacted my congressman and senators and about a month or so later, she was eligible for an interview. My wife had a cr-1 interview, k-3 fell by the wayside.
6. Did your wife first come here under the K3 and went back for the CR1 interview? We filed both k-3 and cr-1 at the same time, the cr-1 beat the k-3 in completion. My wife waited in China (she did not come here first). Our case was a little unusual as far as the time frame, there was some additional security clearance done. I had to contact my congressman & senater to get/keep the case moving. Hopefully you will not fall into the same black hole, but be advised and prepaired it can happen. T
7. We were cr-1. She has been home for a little over a week, it took 2 years +.
8. T-6 days.......... I going through the same countdown, the wifie comes home in 6 days.
9. Tell me about it, two years plus.......
10. Nathalie, Hang in there, it will get finished. T
11. You should be able to go to your local post office and they will give you a form to fill out and send (w/passport) I think for a fee you can have some form of express expedition.
12. If you guys post this question to me, I'd flash Birth Control Ads "If you do it once day, you have more school fees to pay . If you do it once a year, you have more time to drink beer "!!! 237855 Amen sister!!!!!! Gotta love Chinese philosophy
13. I can relate, I'm just now returning from the brink of the black hole abyss. Hang in there, it will come to an end and it will be well worth it :candle: :candle:
14. Wow! it takes 2 years for a CR1! 236906 I noticed it too, you have been married for over two years.why is it still CR1 instead of IR1? 236945 I think that could be correct. I don't know for sure and really don't care, just as long as she was approved, passed and has it in hand which she does.
15. Wow! it takes 2 years for a CR1! 236906 Ya, two years and 8 trips later she finally gets to come home and what is one of the first things she wants to do.....leave the country!!!!! 236915 That is pretty funny!!! Maybe you should tell her if she leaves, it will take another 2 years to get back in!!! I'm really glad to hear that you are on the last leg of this journey. You guys started 3 months after we did and my sweetie has been here over a year already!! 236927 Two years to get back in, just the thought makes me feel ill.

21. Thanks all, It was a long process for us but we are both glad it is finally over. My wife said the interview went smoothly, she spoke to the vo in English. We are glad we did not get the dreaded blue slip, but wifie said they handed out quite a few. she received the p4 about a month ago and yes it was a little hard not to post but my wife and I decided it was in our best interest not to post here or any ware until after getting the visa, too many toads, trolls and moles prowling around. Good luck to all and hope everyone has a speedy process.
