I gotta believe the gov't will try do something about this at some point. Housing subsidies for newlyweds maybe? Outright payments? Or could they somehow make it more difficult for women to marry "outsiders" like us? Just throwing stuff out there. I doubt they will make it more difficult for guys like us. Only the U.S. Government will do that. We are definitely good for the Chinese economy. But I do think they will take steps to resolve the gender imbalance in other ways. Just wait till I find the love of my life. They will make the changes effective the next day.

Where my father was living, many WWII veterans where moving out of the country. Most were moving to Central America. Most if not all of them were moving for some of the reasons you mentioned. That letter from GUZ and from your congressmans office are both worthless. I'd be interested in know if you contact them and ask them if the answer from GUZ was acceptable to them?

Another factor might be the availability of work. When the Golden Gate Bridge was being built during The Depression, men lined up, just incase they needed people. When ever anyone spoke up about safety or working conditions, they were shown to the other side of the fence. So, the employers may know that they have more workers than jobs, and can act as they desire. Of course, I'm not up on the current economic conditions in China, so this may not apply, but it might be something to consider.

There was a time when my wife told me "You didn't listen to your wife", being the survivalist type I immediately responded that I aways listened to my wife because she is the most important person in my life. She followed it up with "why didn't you do what I said?" To that I thought for a minute and busted out laughing and then told her I aways listen to my wife but didn't do what she told me. She got a good laugh out of that one too. Perhaps "I always listen to my wife, but I'm a rebel!"
