  1. If it wasn't sent off in the original I-130 submission, IMO - you should cancel it. folder with my employer note, tax transcripts, paycheck stubs, etc a lot of that goes into the I-864, gathered up at NVC 'processing time'. This 'folder' isn't asked for during the interview. Some ppl will prepare a fresh version a few weeks prior to interview day, if there was a rollover in the tax year from filing the I-864 to NVC to interview day.
  2. That was a good read - thanks fotr the link. I wonder what his sidekick, Sammo Hung, is up to these days?
  3. Ya, I guess it makes me think, then - what's the most important bit for him ? If it's fodder for 'proof of bonafide relationship' - then it won't matter. If it's 'actual coverage past the 6 month time tick' - then I have to suggest that one examine her location after that 6 month time tick. also, Would the medical insurance coverage be any issue whatsover since she's in China? If I was doing this - I'd get the policy, use it as fodder, cancel the policy (hard in some places), then redo a new policy once she's stateside, not worrying about the current SSN requirement. I guess I don't understand what his main concern was - either 'relationship fodder' or 'insurance coverage' . IMO, the coverage is meaningless whilst she's in China, but initial proof of coverage is useful for 'relationship fodder' that's submitted with the I-130. Sure, there are current snafus in his medical insurance plan, but I can't understand the balance or result. Maybe I'm just stupid today from the buckets o rain hitting the farm.
  4. that reminds me.... along with other stuff - i'm betting the insurance company will want to 'run her credit' based on her non-existent ssn, in an attempt to 'change your rates'. yuk ! IIRC, requiring a SSN for medical insurance coverage is actually not lawful. (but i could be wrong).
  5. Hope this isn't too late - 1. show a rental agreement at your mom's address, with both of your names on it as rentors, and your mother listed as the landlord, with a date from two months ago. Private rental agreements are easy to make. Have your Mom sign it and then either fax it to you, or have her get into Kinko's , scan the whole thing, and email the pages to you. 2. Show a private lease agreement on the car, in both of your names, same setup as #1. Just cause all of this is at mom's address is NO REASON to invalidate domicile, lease agreement, or lease of car. Good Luck !
  6. ya - it's owned by the same fella that owns this domain and site, too. The EZ FAQ is a great compendium put together by DavidZixuan (one of the mods here). Wei - Welcome Aboard...
  7. Hey - Welcome Aboard - have a read (if you haven't filed the I-130 yet) - http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35091
  8. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry233487 and http://candleforlove.com/FAQ/CFL_FAQ_List_Final1.htm IIRC, The difference between The Us Embassy in Russia and the US Consulate in Guangzhou - is that the beneficiary has to have an appointment letter to get into the building in Guangzhou - and it's included in the P4 mailing. For Russia (I could be wrong) - she would arrange appointment time herself with the Embassy - no 'letter' needed to get into the building.
  9. I only see it only mattering as proof of a bonafide relationship, a copy of the insurance paperwork filed alonng with the Initial I-130 submission, sometime around (3-16-2009 Mailed in I-130 ). If you did get it in for the first submittal, then I suggest you don't sweat the 6 month window at all, don't worry about it - let it expire. If you didn't include a copy of the insurance paperwork with your original submission, I wouldn't even sweat the insurance until she lands in country.
  10. i always thought 'N/A' was bad - instead - write out 'None' or 'Not Applicable'. Since you haven't filed yet - take a long hard look at the 'bonafide relationship' papertrail requirements - submit as much evidence as you can in the FIRST submission. Also - there's other versions of this I-130 fillable pdf file that DO allow for 'lots o space' - I'll find the links soon and post em here...
  11. OK - i hadn't really commented on this - so I'll take a stab at it. GUZ has boxes n boxes of EMS envelopes and tracking labels - the tracking number is preprinted on the label. So, if they already know the tracking number for the call-in letter, then a clerk somewhere has been putting all the pieces together and making updates in the local computer system (The clerk that answered yer email got the tracking number from the same interntal GUZ IV case tracking system that all of 'them' use.) Sometime soon, it'll get all assembled (if not already) and put into the GUZ mailroom. Things aren't so fast in the mailroom - once it gets there, it could still be 1 to 4 days before it leaves the mailroom, depending on the 'bundling' of stuff for the packet. When it's 'ready ready' - EMS will pick it up same day or next day, and then it'll leave the GUZ mailroom. EMS doesn't update as fast as UPS or Fedex in their online tracking system - but if there was any status 'today' (pickup, in transit, scanned at location, blah blah) then it'll get into the EMS tracking computer overnight (and viewable once it's updated). So - at best guess - when it finally shows as 'delivered' in the EMS online tracking system - hei - it was physically delivered yesterday. Aren't computers 'fun' ? all of the above is my best guestimization - I've really no blueprint of 'how it really works' ..
  12. Update: I called DOS again today, the lady said "the last update in GUZ was on April 14th (the day after I found out my case was "approved"), your fiancee's case is still processing" April 14th at 12:00pm (Pacific time) GUZ replied to my email saying my case "has been reviewed and will be approved" and that "the letter will be sent out this week". Is DOS just out of the loop or something? ya, sorry, that 'shared computer system' will 'seem' a bit wacky. First, there's the time zone difference. Then there's the 'update process' - sometimes it seems 'real time', other times it seems to be 'batch', with a few days backlog. I guess I wasn't so clear - i was suggesting you ask for the last three status changes, what the status was, and the date of each status item. At this point, alas, it seems there's a data disparity between GUZ and the home office . Not to worry, all will get 'caught up' eventully.. but.. really - ask the sweet staff worker at the DOS hotline about the last 3 status items, with each date/time stamp. Yer Getting Close - hang in there !! Warmest Regards...
  13. I think if you sent off copies of the visa stamps and copies of the airline stubs on initial submittal, you'll be ok. But - start preparing that 'kitchen sink' of evidence - she'll bring it to the interview. She may be asked something that's covered in the 'kitchen sink', or not - it's really hard to forecast. But if she's asked, and can pull it out of her hand-carry file - makes it dead easy.
  14. It shouldn't matter on the 'other women', unless you've filed a I-129F petition for them. IMO, it's too late to get something added into your K-1 petition (with the caveat that you SHOULD have put in as much as possible for the initial submission) - but... she can certainly bring it with her during the day of the interview. If I understand what you've written about the theft .. Now you don't have CHINA VISA stamps in your passport (cause it's gone), and maybe you don't have any receipts from the hotel stays (where they stolen too?) ... Find your airticket receipts /invoices from when you purchased the tickets, and also show any credit card statements that have the air ticket purchases listed. Good Luck, and Welcome Aboard !!! You'll find the head 2 decks down and starboard, ships mess abaft of the CIWS, and yer own yer own re: laundry...
  15. Congratulations !!! Go Pink ! http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/4839/v268505lf8.jpg
  16. His blog is here - http://www.arctec.com/blog/ You'll have to select a 'comment area' on the blog entry that'd you'd like to make the comment on. Look for a comment(s) tag in each blog entry, usually at the end of each blog entry.. For Example - If I went here - http://www.arctec.com/blog/2009/03/john-ro...e.html#comments after clicking on a comment tag, then I could make another comment at the bottom. Then, when you are finished typing or pasting in your comment, ya gotta choose what type of identity you'd like to use, in making your comment. many have chosen 'anonymous' . I guess it mostly is gonna depend on WHICH comment tag you want to click on (each one corresponds to one of his blog entries). HTH !
  17. Very Cool ! keep the original 'appointment letter', print out the email, bring both to GUZ on interview day. But - you may get a new appointment letter too, keep yer eyes on the postal mail. And.... this gives you plenty of time now, to post the party pics in the gallery here.. WHOOP! Good Luck !
  18. that's a lot o travel plans. seems like 'the last trek' would be -- you would be flying late out of 'wherever' into CAN (via plane) at the end of the wedding banquet day - so before you get too serious about it all - see if there's even a scheduled flight? http://english.ctrip.com (and good luck ! )
  19. 'technically' - the biometrics can be done in china wherever there is a DHS office inside a consulate/embassy - so lets see - where is that? Beijing and Guangzhou, for certain... but imagine the logistics? re-entry permit applied for in the USA, boimetrics appointment 'transferred' to DHS(somewhere in China) and the permit granted in China. I think it's do-able, but hei - huh ? what? who's done it before? FWIW, it does sound like the 'whole thing' can be handled in China. (File in China, all done in China)... but... Go back to the states - view it as a 'small vacation' - and a way to 'maintain domicile' every few months.. (that's really my only advice, don't pursue the re-entry permit).
  20. I would list calendar dates instead of 'still practicing'. But seriously. never put 'n/a' - put either 1. not applicable 2. none Good Luck !
  21. bokiwen - ya - i have something similar - broadvox - but - i've had this account for 6 years now - somehow i got 'grandfathered' 4 plans ago, and for my 19.95 / month - i've got unlimited everywhere. (at least the last 2 years, and I call all over da world, except Cuba). I'm sure it's a data error as 'plans' were consolidated. I wouldn't recommend anyone to try to get a new account - it seems impossible from all the merging and buyouts... but - my ata device not burn up, ever - and i've used it in singapore, china, and rome. it's a brick - no longer made this 'new stuff' is smaller, gets hotter and from what i've tested, burns out in about 9 months. The 'listed rate' is 2.1 cents/minute to China - it shows up like that on my statement, but I the invoice has always said '19.95' ... I wish I could recommend it to others, but I can't
  22. re: DOS status - ya - sorry - 'pending' was the last 'status' - call em back, ask for the last 3 ticks o status, with the dates .
