  1. Aren't the 'evidentiary guidelines' the same for K-1 as K-3 ? I remember for K-1, one had to submit official copies of divorce decrees at GUZ interview day. IMO, with 4 prior marriages, I think the VO is gonna look hard at trip count and durations, income level and I-134 'stuff, and the duration betwen the last 'divorce granted date' and the I-130 first filing date. She'll need to be fully prepped, imo, with these divorce decrees in hand, and maybe also have a one page sheet that has the names, dates and durations (and study this prior to interview day). Now, ya didn't tell us HIS age, so maybe it might appear as 'normal' - ya know - 8 year durations on each, with a 2 year break in between (ya, I hear ya, what is 'normal' anyway?) . My brain is fuzzy, I hope someone else will chime in ?
  2. hey mei/steve/ - ya - the gathering of documents is normal for the i-130 at nvc. if you'd like to speed things through nvc - have a look ? http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut and http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form Uhm - don't be surprised - this is normal process. wei - is this you ? http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showuser=50891
  3. Woo Hoo !! Finally !! Come to the Dark Side, O Cerberus - Volvos Rock ! Except for the 2001 V70 wagon series - stay away from that one - it was designed without Volvo's normal '500,000 miles if you do the maintenance' engineering team.
  4. benc - ya - but this is a different scenario. HaoRan's wife has to pay a fee for the creation of a police record report in South Africa (SA), and the fee was to be paid via wire transfer or TT. Apparently there was no other accepted method o payment - so she started investigating 'how to pay the SA fee' in china, at her bank. The fee to pay was only 10 USD - but with BoC Wire Transfer fees , to handle the TT from China TO South Africa - BOOM - it became 75 usd. HaoRan's Bank charges a fee as well. Xoom won't work for him because of the small amount. Finally, he created a WAMU personal checking account, which has free wire transfers for personal checking account holders - and was able to get this Ten Dollars into South Africa, and get the police report generation paid for. Slan !
  5. Hey - Come On - I'm just happy they've lopped off a month from their GOALS. It won't 'normalize' on actual for some time - due to the Fee Increase (but y'all knew that already). GoGoGadget ConfidenceIntervals !
  6. Mike - that's absolutely RICH !!! I'd be worried about some NVC gearhead reading the IP addresses though, on the email, and doing a reverse lookup.
  7. Sometimes I feel like whipping out a ruler, and aiming for someone's knuckles. This is one of those times. I supplied 2 links earlier, that'll whip you through NVC. Ya - thet DS-3032 can be emailed. Look at my 2nd link, click it, read it. and NO - it must be done by the beneficiary. As to 'nearby' - wei - are you sure? Internet Cafes are everywhere in Wuhan, in both parts of the city. Usually they are open till 10 PM, minimum. Most are open on Sundays, as well (she has off on Sundays?) If you can't find my post in yer thread - please - click - here http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=484604 I'm sorry Rick, I know I should be nicer - we've both married Wuhan Women - I should be more receptive to what you need - I thought I was being proactive with the initial links, though - I know I can't FORCE you to read them. I'm mondo excited about yer fast approval - with luck, I'll have the same. Warmest Regards...
  8. That's actually covered in the link - I Swear ! look at section 3.4.4
  9. No. there are many ways to 'know' yer NVC case number (in this case it's the GUZ case number). Click one of my prior links in this here thread - read a shortcut or two - it's ALL IN THERE.
  10. I had the same issue of 'cache clearing' recently at the CZ web site when trying to get that special 199 junket from lax to guz. clear the cache, it was visible.
  11. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD This seems promising - USCIS is reporting, through their 'grid' thingie, they that've lopped off a month, from 6 months, down to 5 months, for approvals on I-129s and I-130s. Publication Date - 3/23/09 . [Note to Mods, please move as needed]
  12. OK - here's the post about the 'non-interview' - http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26875 Have a read?
  13. Hei - how's it going on the NVC paperwork ? I note you were mailing out stuff - any review of James' Shortcuts ??
  14. If you married in Thailand instead of Vietnam, and filed both the I-130 and the K-3, then you could have the K-3 adjudicated in Thailand. Since you are married in her country, filing BOTH would give you a double shot at approval in Vietnam, if you had the K-3 moving faster than the I-130. K-3 off to Vietnam first, then have an interview. If you get another white slip, then there is possibility of kicking the I-130 into play at NVC. But - it's Vietnam - I know NOTHING about how it works - my knowledge comes mostly from reading here on CFL about what happens at GUZ, and some personal, prior life experiences.
  15. Tsap- you raise a good point. The two cases that I remember from were at CFL here blue slipped on income, but I gotta think this was because of improper or incomplete paperwork prep on the I-864 at NVC time. I was reading the I-864 faqs moments ago, up at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html and it wasn't clear about your two types o benefits. I had recommended in the past for someone to have an 'audited income and asset statement ' prepared, and certified, by a CPA, and include that in the I-864 submission. But I sense my free advice is falling on deaf ears. Keep at it, hopefully you'll find 'the right answer' this year. Maybe ask the question at ACH in Guangzhou when yer down there this year.
  16. Sorry, I really meant 'become buddies with yer postal carrier' - and the obvious - 'have a face to face talk at the mailbox 'room' at the apartment complex'. IMO, calling in via telephone will be totally useless. If you haven't done the 'change of address' yet - I strongly suggest instead, that you go INTO the post office, put in a 'hold order' for your mail - and then come back in about 10 days for pick up. A Hold Order keeps the mail at the post office, until YOU come by to pick it up. No Address Forwarding 'stuff' involved. I use this 'feature' at the post office when I travel.
  17. Hey Rick - good news !!! Any idea of which *SC it went to ? VSC ? CSC ? Have a read, when you get time in the next two days: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut and http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form GoGoGadget NVC !
  18. IMO, it's one of those 'things' where it's nice to have it if some emergency pops up, like Mom is sick or dying... Since it doesn't change the price of the AOS check, I just say, 'why not' ?
  19. i can't answr this directly with a yes or no - but it raises some issues and questions. There have been blue slips on income the last 6 months, some of the cases were about TAXABLE income - where the petitioner's TAXABLE income was below the poverty levels, though the TOTAL COMBINED INCOME was WAY above the poverty levels. I would __think__ that IF the unemployment compensation is non-taxable, then it might pose a problem, with the converse - if it's taxable income - then there should not be any problem. Then there's an issue of 'when' tax is declared/deducted. IIRC, when paid out to the recipient, there is no tax collected /withdrawn by the state. But isn't it included on the 1040 somewhere ? Sorry, it's all a muddle... You might want to ask your HR rep if Unemployment Compensation is viewed as taxable income or no...
  20. George - thanks for the write-up ! It Really, REALLY helps !!!
  21. I just saw this - but I"m missing one thing - WHEN was this put on the website ? I'm wondering if it's some type of 'spin control' or if it's solely coming in as a series of videos for the 'Know Yer Consular Official' Series.
  22. Here's a California Member with some recent activity about 'which one to send' http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=36129&hl=
