  1. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index....f93bb859737068a Feul for the fire. Maybe someone should tell us the truth. I would surely like to hear it. On the other hand, actions speak louder than words. I know the truth already.
  2. I know this is old news but, why does my chest burn when I read this? Will this help my wife and I be together...really??? An overall increase of $79 million to help people like me??? The backlog reduction helped get my I-130 approved superfast. I was so happy to get the approval. Then watch it get stuck in NVC, now stuck in GZ (if they can find it???). Pay 79mil to shift the problem. Hardly grounds for a congratulations ...and pay extra fees on top of it. The goverment must obide by some standard or laws to keep them in check. This is out of control. So where does the $$$ come from? The FY 2006 budget requests $80 million in discretionary funding and $1.774 billon in mandatory funding generated from fee revenues paid by persons seeking immigration benefits, including a total of $100 million specifically for backlog elimination efforts. http://uscis.gov/graphics/publicaffairs/ne...7_budget_nr.pdf http://uscis.gov/graphics/publicaffairs/Bk...pdate032205.pdf http://uscis.gov/graphics/aboutus/repsstud...ies/BEPQ4v7.pdf See page 5 of the last .pdf (Cycle Time Goals by Form Type) Press Office U.S. Department of Homeland Security February 7, 2005 News Release USCIS PRIORITIZES BACKLOG ELIMINATION IN FY 2006 BUDGET Washington, D.C.– U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today requested $1.854 billion in the FY 2006 budget, an overall increase of $79 million, or 4 percent over the FY 2005 budget. The FY 2006 budget requests $80 million in discretionary funding and $1.774 billon in mandatory funding generated from fee revenues paid by persons seeking immigration benefits, including a total of $100 million specifically for backlog elimination efforts. “The President’s FY 2006 budget will allow us to build upon the progress we have made in the past year to restore integrity and public confidence in America’s legal immigration system. We have successfully reduced the backlog to 1.5 million cases, down from a high of 3.8 million cases in January 2004. USCIS is on track to realize the President’s goal of six-month processing times for all immigration benefit applications by the end of FY 2006,” said USCIS Director Eduardo Aguirre. USCIS has set the agency’s priorities as (1) ensuring national security, (2) reducing the backlog, and (3) improving customer service. In the agency’s first two years, USCIS expanded electronic filing of applications and benefits to support 50 percent of the total volume; expanded the ability for customers to access case status information via the USCIS website; expanded InfoPass, the USCIS web-based system that enables the public to go online to schedule appointments; published for the first time a comprehensive handbook for new arrivals, “A Guide to New Immigrants;” issued more than 16,500 Certificates of Citizenship to internationally adopted children through streamlined processing; and created the Fraud Detection and National Security Unit to work closely with the appropriate law enforcement entities in responding to hits on aliens who pose a threat to national security or public safety. Every business day, USCIS will: process 140,000 national security background checks; receive 100,000 web hits; take 80,000 calls at four National Customer Service Centers; process 30,000 applications for an immigration benefit; see 25,000 visitors at 92 offices; issue 20,000 green cards; capture 8,000 sets of fingerprints at 130 Application Support Centers; welcome 3,000 newly naturalized citizens; greet almost 200 refugees; and help American parents adopt 100 foreign orphans. -USCIS- On March 1, 2003, U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services became one of three legacy INS components to join the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. USCIS is charged with fundamentally transforming and improving the delivery of immigration and citizenship services, while enhancing our nation's security. www.uscis.gov
  3. Yur gonna get yur self in trouble Dan. Brace yourself.
  4. I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and say that San Fransisco has a large Chinese community.
  5. How did we get to "in demand hot water heaters" from "the difference between chinese and us girls?" Only on Candle... hehe
  6. The #'s don't lie. Thanks. As for the DCF, I think you need to live there for about 6 months to a year before you can file that way.
  7. You guys making fun of CA will be the last ones laughing. When the "big one" hits the rest of the country is sliding into the ocean. Wouldn't want to be ya. ps. j, sum ting wong wit yo avitar. CA jive or pin yin...??? hehe
  8. Maybe my jinx read my message wrong. I said Lao Po was moving, NOT my paperwork... B) I can't get out of my own way. Maybe xulie601 would be interested in trade. I have some incence and a set of those ban waa balls with the ying yang symbols on them for an extra one of those interview dates. PS. No kidding... yesterday, I'm in line at the grocery store in Shanghai, I walk up to the register and the stupid machine breaks down. I was forced to switch lines. It wasn't my choice this time. AAAAUUUGGHHH!!!! B)
  9. WE have not received your wife's case from the NVC. If your wife's contact address has been changed, please ask her to fax us her current mailing address written in Chinese, zip code and contact phoen number are also required. We will update the add after we receive her file. Sincerely, Immigrant Visa Unit U.S. Consulate General, Guangzhou The response I got after my e-mail about the address change. I even got a letter via snail mail from NH saying they sent it to GZ weeks ago. next question is ... How long does it take the letter to make it in the door from the dumpster outside ??? How many weeks will I get punished for being part of the MH letter or asking GZ to hurry up?
  10. That makes for a nice Birthday present doesn't it? Happy B-day Ling... Go Ling! Go Ling! Go Ling! sorry I couldn't get back to you. Don't buy LG! those phoze are garbage.
  11. Thanks everybody. I'm catching the plane right now. Come on Jim (feathers), plane's waiting for you.
  12. There was a thread on here (not too long ago) that some had asked one of the GZ reps the same question over the phone. the reply was "CR1 is longer than K1." From what I see, CR1 beats K3 by a few weeks. I don't get it though. I thought that if you are married in China, the I-130(K3) to CSC is manditory and the 129F(K1) was optional. I saw an article on uscis.gov this week that said the the 129F(K1) to Chi town is not optional for "K3" apps. The K3, becomes CR1 after CSC's approval (it happens quickly now.) So the K3 and K1 are running parrallel to each other. Why do people refer to the living 129F app as K3??? It's really a K1. the term "K3" is essencially garbage after you start using the term "CR1". In my last letter from NVC, the one telling me the app is on it's way to GZ, refered to CR1 is a "conditional spouse". Geez guys... you can't take my wife away too can you??? Am I the only one that got that letter or are they doing that to everyone??? They meant to say "conditional resident".... I hope.
  13. I know candle saved me months worth the waiting also. I would not have known about the timelines, the process or the little things. Most important of all I wouldn't have caught my lawyers mistakes. It could have exetended our visa out considerably longer. It will be a shame to hear these nightmare stories happening more frequently just because one persons feelings got hurt in a thread or two. Looking at the big picture, I might be just filing my DS230 or I-864 right now. How much $$$ is 6 months of my life away from my wife worth??? I'll help to support candle anytime.
  14. OK Great, Now that our paperwork is in GZ, Lao Po is moving. (Not much choice really.) I was just looking nat the GZ website, NVC and USCIS websites. I could find instructions for if she were already here, but not if she is still there. Don't want to screw this one up because the P4 is coming. (sometime this year hopefully.) I would like to take care of this asap. e-mails , letters, ar-11??? http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/ar-11.htm
  15. What was the reason for your delay? I have a Aug 1st priority date, but I know it doesn't mean anything. There was a thread a while back confirming that CR1 was given less priority than K1. Nothing we can do except to prepare for a long summer.
  16. not too be too negative, but it sounds too good to be true.

  19. http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/t...%2fjzhouzhu.htm http://www.jsdj.com/luyou/lyzy/jzhouzhu.htm Lao Po says she wants to take me here, but after looking at the website, it doesn't look like much to marvel at. She says it's historical and the landscape is nice. The webmaster should try to incorperate that a little more into the site. I'm not sold on Zhouzhu, but still happy to be with my wife anytime. Just wondering if anyone had input or had been there before. Wan an,

  21. http://www.canada.com/ottawa/ottawacitizen...15-a5cbb1842292 I was just surfing around and saw this article. I can't count how many times times I was chatting with my wife and sent her a link from a site I wanted her to check out and her reply was, "it won't open." I figured it was her browser settings or something. I guess the "Great Wall" has gone digital now. That sucks.
