  1. Not too late, Calvin, thanks. We will line up Monday since they are closed tomorrow. They open at 7:30 AM here and issue a limited number of "tickets" to see an immigrations officer. I just did not want to waste a whole day waiting in the wrong place, since I will have to do without any sleep that day. I will report on the experience afterward - for the benefit of future couples.
  2. Tim, I don't make a practice of plugging my sponsors, but since you asked. . . I have most of my 48 web domains hosted by ASSORTED INTERNET. I am quite satisfied with them. They offer various pricing packages, from $4.99/month and up.
  3. I don't know the answer to the first question, but the I-134 affidavit of support is used to show support for your fiancee to get the visa to come to this country. After she arrives and you are married, you send the I-864 affidavit with the (I-485) AOS papers. So yes, you do file 2 different support affidavits; one before her arrival, and one after marriage here with the AOS.
  4. Have fun, guys and gals, but I have to miss this one.... Connecticut is way too far.
  5. Keep after them! Keep writing, calling, faxing, and always looking for new officials to contact. I still believe that the biggest problem is the lack of knowledge by the general public. The average person on the street either is unaware of the K-visa delay problem, or he accepts the gov't's standard "911" excuse.
  6. No, they will welcome you. The K-1( or K-3) visa holder should plan to live in the US and no question should be asked about one way ticket. No question "should" be asked. Doesn't mean they won't. Again, I'm just speculating. one-way ticket is no problem. Stop worrying
  7. We will have our AOS (I-485, 765, 693 supplement, 864) ready to file tomorrow, but are confused as to where to file. Do we file at the local BCIS office (here in Las Vegas)as the BCIS website seems to vaguely imply? Or do we file at the regional service center (Laguna Niguel,CA)? Anyone know for sure where to file these forms?
  8. ??HOW?? Social Security office told us we have to have EAD first before SSN can be issued.
  9. On the I-765 e-file page, under "who is not eligible to e-file this form" is......(9) K-3 Nonimmigrant Spouse of U.S. Citizen I therefore assume that since we are now married, that we are ineligible to e-file.
  10. received reply from the White House. See PREVIOUS POST TOPIC HERE.
  11. Hang in there, SBS. Finally, an "on hold" case gets cleared. This good news is evidence that things are still moving (although slowly).
  12. Yeap! For $1200 I could see my sweetie twice! Just don't be shy and ask the not-for-profit-not-for-money "lawyers" from CFL (such as those modulators ). Yep, is it too late for you to get a refund?
  13. Maybe a good plan, but will the government provide sufficient staff to prevent further visa delays?
  14. As CFL evolves, its primary goals should consider this point and strive for public awareness of the truth. Whenever the truth is finally public knowledge, the government will be inclined to reform.
  15. Yes, HERE IS THE LINK where this topic is discussed. There is also a link in the topic to a page on name changes. My wife and I are awaiting our certified copy marriage certificate. When we receive this, we will take it to the different agencies (Social Security, driver license, etc.) to show that she is one and the same person as her new married name.
  16. Although they take forever to load, due to the very high resolution pictures and some html errors on some of the pages (possibly crashing some browsers), these are excellent pics of very good quality. Those of us with a fast cable or DSL connection should be able to see them in a few seconds.
  17. WOW!! Just think how much better the entire world would have been if everyone had waited until they were (grown up) 26.2 years old to have a child!
  18. check the "links and resources" and "contact list" pages in the pull down menu at bottom right of this page.
  19. Of the 9 faxes I sent on 3/13 to officials of our gov't, including members of the Judiciary Committes on Immigration, K. Cabral, state reps, and President Bush, I have received written replies by mail from two of them. Ms. Cabral did send a reply after about a month. Today, I received a reply from the Special Assistant to the President. By now of course my sweetie is already here, and we were married last night at a local chapel in Las Vegas. But at least this shows that our gov't does move occaisionally to our requests, although very slowly at times. Perhaps if I had sent these faxes several months ago, I would been more elated with the responses. But the point I'm trying to make here, is that those of you still waiting and especially the "on hold" group, should continue to fax, mail, phone, etc. Your strength is in the voices of your numbers. Please don't stop building on the groundwork that has been laid by the "old timers." If you feel that you have been waiting longer than normal or you feel there is some other problem with your case, contact your officials. If you are curious, here is the reply from the White House Dear xxxxxx, Thank you for contacting President George W. Bush . . . The White House is sending your inquiry to the Dept. of Homeland Security. . . they will respond directly to you.... Sincerely, D. T. Special Assistant to the President
  20. Good to see that things are still moving at BCIS. It will be interesting to see how smoothly things proceed after the interview. Hopefully things will be back to normal and visa will be issued next day.
