We had one other member some time ago say that when his wife became a USC, she was able to collect her benefits in one lump sum. Not sure but perhaps it was Tine&Ella? she don't have to wait to retire, she can draw it all out anytime she want, my wife drew all her's out after she gite her visa , one lump sum, it would be nice if we could do that in America That's good. I hope we can do. Where do you think we start. She has only paid for 12 years and were hoping there isn't a penatly like getting money from our 401K in America. She seems to think she can't touch the money until she has worked for 15 years China.

I was hoping it didn't matter if she became a US citizen or not. My mother is British, immigrated and was still able to collect all her social security in a lump sum when she turned 65. I wonder if that would be a option for my wife with China.

Not sure where to put this one or if anyone else has had this come up. If my wife lives out her life in America as a permanent residence or becomes a citizen can she still get China Social Security for the years she worked in China. She is a little worried now that she can't collect the money when she reaches the retired age. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

So she should be good to go and come back to China for two years, muliple times. K3 visa is good for 6 months until validated by coming to America and then it is extended for another 2 years I-94. If I understand it correctly. I think we will wait till December and then file, hoping to get the 10 year green card.

Jonathan is making this OVERLY expensive, must like paying the government and or US Civil surgeon excessive FEES! If you file an I-765 for EAD BEFORE filing I-485 the fee is $340 If you wish to travel and the K-3 is going to expire you file an I-539 to extend the K-3 and pay a $300 fee. If you delay in filing AOS more than a year after getting medical for the visa, you will be paying a US Civil surgeon several hundred for a FULL medical (FULL I-693) The best scenario for a K-3 is to hold on filing the I-485 and I-765 until very close to 2 years of marriage but not more than 1 year after visa medical, and hope the adjudication and/or AOS interview happens after 2 years of marriage. I would sit tight in the USA and forget about travel until having green-card, filing I-539 to extend validity of a K-3 also costs $$$, I-131 AP is for K-1 visas. If adjudicated before 2 years of marriage, you will be filing an I-751 within 90 days before a 2 year conditional green-card expires to remove conditions, FEE $545. Got to love AOS from a K-Visa, complicated and EXPENSIVE, I would have pushed the I-130 through NVC on to a CR-1 visa interview, less cost and complexities, and CR-1 gets work auth the moment they set foot on US soil, so could do things like apply for a DL, get a job, apply for SSN etc.. What is done is done, I had my reasons and will continue to push forward. Since the K3 won't be expiring for about 1 1/2 years, SO won't have to worry about extending her visa... right? Does traveling affect in anyway before or during the AOS process? Assuming the K3 Visa won't expire during that time? Just need to make sure, even though my question may have already been answered. SO wants to go back before our 2-year anniversary. If our wedding aniversary is Apirl 8th, what day would you suggest I file I-485, I-765? If I file before the date the medical exam was done in Guangzhou Apr 26th, do I have to worry about a full I-693 even if the AOS process will be done beyond that date. It will be cutting it a little close.. Is the vaccine records from Guangzhou and xray the only things my SO needs to provide the US Civil surgeon?

What is the process after our two year anniversary if my wife gets a two-year green card before? Is there any fees on getting the 10 year card after the wedding anniversary or before the two year will expire? What are the other advantages for waiting till the two year anniversary other than getting a 10 year or 2 year green? Saving money? If a I-765 is filed to allow the SO to work until the two year anniversary will I have to pay the fee for the I-765 in additon to the full fee of the I-485 when I decide to file? Do I send everything together (G-1145, I-131, etc... to the Chicago Lockbox) Can I just include two photos, one passport copy, one birth certificate copy, one marriage certificate and one I-130 NOA if filing everything together (I-485, I-765)? Do I need to include the original I-693 form or a copy from Guangzhou or what other medical info needs to be submitted? Can the SO work while the AOS is being approved if filing I-765 with the I-485? How long after USCIS receives the G-1145 can the SO travel. Is this good for multiple times and to other countries (Egypt, Japan and South Korea? How can I find out more about the Employment Authorization? Will this give her rights like to get a driver's license, go to school and SS#? Our second anniversary is April 8th 2011. When the 2 year green card is up does she have to apply for another 2 year card or can she do the 10? I did find her I-94 and it is good for two years from the date of entry. The K3 visa is valid for entry into the United States until the expiration date of the visa (usually six months after the vise was awarded). It is good for a TWO YEAR STAY after processing at the POE. You have until the date written on the I-94 to file for Adjustment of Status. Some people WAIT until AFTER their second wedding anniversary so that they will get a 10 year green card, instead of a two year green card, thereby saving the expense of applying for the two year card. She may apply for Employment Authorization (albeit for a fee) while waiting for the second anniversary. Advanced Parole is not necessary, since the K-3 is a multiple-entry visa, which may be used at any time during the two year stay.

Is a social security number needed for health insurance. In order to list my wife under my plan, the insurance company is asking for her SS#.

Thank you!!! It was really nice to meet you and your wife. As far as I know everyone got pink who stayed at the house, including the woman from Sichuan. We met her at the hospital on that Monday and recommended the home stay. The wife and I wish you a happy life ahead in America or in China, when you decide to come back. My wife wants to keep a couple of her bank cards. Has anyone had any experience using China Bank cards in the US at the atm? Does many ATMs have the China Bank card logo like JCB (Japan) and UnionPay in the US? Not sure if she will be charged a transaction fee for using at any ATM. Does the reverse work when using a China Construction Bank Card at Bank of America. No Fees. Thank you

Do I need to provide or show CITIC Bank any info when paying the application fee? Can it be done online? Does it matter who the receipt is made out to?

Are the vaccinations done at the clinic when the medical exam is done? Is there any added cost for the vaccinations or is it something that only can be done at certain clinics? Not all designated Clinics and Hospitals are listed for receiving vaccinations. A example is the SOS Clinic in Beijing. My wife doesn't have any records, so I'm assuming she will be getting the full dose of all listed vaccinations. Is there any paperwork that my SO needs to provide when she goes for her appointment? P4 did not contain any Medical Examination documents.
