  1. Hello, it's been a long time.. Just received NOA2 (Hurray) for I-130 and I-129f. How long do I have to wait until the case gets sent to GUZ? Will I be notified in anyway and can I check on the process? One other thing, has there been any changes or updates to the I-134 form.. I will be using this thread for reference: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=39229&hl= Is there anything else i may have forgotten or need to know that might help my case? I will be leaving for Beijing right before the China New Year.
  2. Great thanks for the quick help Is there a filled out example form online you can point me too...
  3. I don't know if this is the same question when filling out the affidavit of support for CR1 or K1, but how should I answer question 11? it states to give a exact dollar amount and how long you intend to furnish room and board.. Do I write down forever? How do I calculate a exact dollar amount for each month, week, it asks? Yes, i will support my wife, but i really don't know how much every week. If my father will furnish a room for a week (this is the address used on all the forms submitted, until i relocate to Seattle) does he indicate this on the form.
  4. Where does he write down "Father of Petitioner", it might be staring right at me, but i'm not seeing it. If I'm selfemployed, I don't have any copies of pay stubs or a employer letter... I can provide bank information copies of Tax returns last three years. In the interview or when presented to GUZ does my wife put more emphasis on my fathers affidavit.
  5. Does the Co-sponsor (my father) write down my name anywhere on the Form that i'm the husband? When filling out the income part, if there is no stocks or life insurance is it best to put down "0" or None. What supporting documents does my father need to provide me before I leave for china? Instructions only indicate bank and letter from employer. Any documents relating to Real Estate, personal property or life insurance that need to back up the claim? Is there anything else the co-sponsor needs to do or fill out? Should I rely solely on the co-sponsor affidavit or should i fill out one as well if I meet the poverty level by savings only this year? I can provide any pervious tax returns of being self-employed.
  6. I am checking on this with my paypal account rep. But he hasnt got all the answers for me yet. Should be soon. I will post once I hear. hello, did you hear anything back from paypal on a percentage fee when converting US to RMB, if any? It would be interesting to know where they get the daily rate. Thank you for your help.
  7. Is there a conversion fee from US to RMB? I've been using the global Remittance from Wells Fargo to Agricultural Bank of China when sending money. This has been the best and cheapest option, but is only limited to one bank account and one bank.
  8. Great Information.. Thanks you. I registered the two cases are right now they are in the Initial Review status. Can you help me better understand a few other things. Once the I-130 and I-129F NOA2 is received will there be just once case number? When checking your cases status on USCIS at what point do they send out the NOA2. Is the timeframe from beginning to end? From when the first filing is done tell the visa is issued. The current time frame for CSC is listed at 5 months. Is this just for the initial review before the NOA2 is sent or is it from beginning to end for the K3 process? {edit} Fixed broken quote tags
  9. Thanks for the link, very helpful.. I guess i just have to cross my fingers now for a speedy NOA2 delivery.
  10. What's the current time frame for receiving NOA2 for filing a I-129F (No RFE, I hope). This would be for K3 visa. It's been about two weeks since I received the first letter. Is there any way to check the status by calling or online. I did not opt for electronic filing.
  11. hello, i would be interested in knowing the fee for a one bedroom and bathroom, nothing fancy. thank you
  12. On the DS-230 Part I should I put down she speaks English on question 23? Languages spoken or read: Her current english ability is BASIC at best.
  13. Just want to make sure that the DS-230 Part II form is not required in the K3 process. I'm not seeing in either packet.
  14. The forms are from the K3 packet for processing a K3 visa. On the DS-156 form how to answer question 26?How long do you intend to stay in the US? Should the wife write down forever? I know this form was made for people traveling, business or going to school in the US. What is the most common answer in our case. On question 22. When do you intend to arrive in the US? Well, we have no idea since we don't know if the Visa will be approved or not and they strongly advise against buying plane tickets until the visa has been approved. Two more question that is on DS-156 and DS-230. "Do you intend to work in the US? I think we should write down No, since it asks for a employer and address, not sure though. In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States"? Is it best to write down some professional field? I'm not sure how the wife should answer this since it's kind of hard to predict what will happen. We will be filing the AOS when she arrives in the US, so it will be sometime before she even thinks about working if she choses to do so.
  15. you can try babelfish.yahoo.com.. Sometimes it works better than google.com and vise versa.
  16. Congratulations!!! I'm very happy to hear it worked out in the end. I hope no one else has to wait that long and start the process over. I will keep Marc Ellis info saved, may need it in the near future. Thanks for the recommendation.
  17. Thanks, i feel a lot better about this. My wife's hukou book still has the address when she lived with her Ex-husband. She has moved three times since then. I listed all the address on the G325A, I-129F, etc.. forms..
  18. [*] Special Administrative Region passports, i.e. the Hong Kong SAR passport and Macau SAR passport at present. She will have a regular/ordinary passport, this is what is required. Do you know if the Hong Kong SAR passport is in the color blue? I think she might have two. When we got her passport in Tianjin we also applied for a Hong Kong Visa. I can't remember if this was a seperate book are not.
  19. I couldn't remember if it was english. thank you. I know that the passport has to be vaild for travel to the US. Does this mean that there are different types of passports issued by the Chinese government? I remember requesting that her passport be vaild for travel to the US, but not sure how to tell difference.
  20. The problem with my wife's Res book is it hasn't been updated for about three years. So, it does not match what I wrote down on the I-130 or G325A forms when listing all her addresses. Her household book is out of date. I like the idea you are doing on getting a letter from the local residence bureau. I wonder how hard it would be to do in Beijing. My wife is not a Beijing person, so I'm not sure if this is something we could do. Is the white book you have something different you receive from the Wuhan residence bureau or PSB? If anything else is out there that I can obtain, even if not required for the visa process, I would be interesed in getting. I think everything can help and it's always good to be overly prepard.
  21. Did anyone have to show SO's Household Register Book at Guangzhou? I don't see it listed as being one of the requirements. If so, I 'm a little afraid that her book is not update and they may reject the visa.
  22. I hope my wife changes her last name, but I will leave that up to her. I know it's pretty uncommon in china.
  23. When the wife goes for the interview in guangzhou does she need to bring along a english translation of her passport and if so does it need to be notarized? The instructions in the K3 packet only say to bring the passport and nothing to do with having it translated or notarized.
  24. These taxi drivers are all over Beijing. Most taxi drivers in Beijing are dishonest, jut my experiences compared to other cities like Tianjin. Another scam I always come across is the woman and child "who just come to Beijing and need some money". Always hang out near the major hotels or malls. I followed one woman after slipping her a 10 bill and she met up with her husband and took off in a taxi. I have been asked by teenagers with school back packs and most recently a woman drinking a starbucks coffee. Also be careful of the woman who supposedly had her purse snatched and cries her eyes out until she has made a reasonable amount of money from strangers or until the police come. (I see this one in guangzhou) One scam I'm not sure of, is the women who stake out the malls in Beijing. I always see these woman in groups of two looking for western men who are alone. I'm always with the wife, but it's very obvious to see. I'm sure scams are all over china, but in Beijing I see more of them. There are many things that happen in China just like in the states and because of the amount of people, there is more of it. Being married to a chinese woman I get to see, hear and do many things that a normal tourist would never experience in china.
  25. Thank you, this is definitely a better way then I have been using. I don't think calling cards exist in china, it seems that ChinaMobile and China Telecom have a monopoly over it's customers.
