  1. Does anyone know how far long the new GUZ consulate is from opening..
  2. Got it.. Sorry, I'm a slow learner.. Should I call the consulate in GUZ to see if they received the case for K3 in about 2 weeks or so? No, call DOS Visa Services in the USA @ 202-663-1225 They will tell you if and when the consulate receives package and when they send out P3. More than likely the package will get caught up in the usual 3 month customs delay and the consulate will indicate not received until the package clears the delay. Thank you.. I'll be on the horn very soon. Is part of the "customs delay" is the consulate entering the info in their computers?
  3. Got it.. Sorry, I'm a slow learner.. Should I call the consulate in GUZ to see if they received the case for K3 in about 2 weeks or so?
  4. The I-129F NVC is being sent out today to GUZ. I think I'm understanding this a little better.. The nonimmigrant visa K3 is under process and the I-130 will in no shape or form hold up this process as it stays at the NVC. The I129F is valid from 1/15/2010 to 05/14/2010 so I imagine we will be getting the interview before the 14th of May. So i would assume the wheels are in motion for the next step P3.
  5. My only problem at the P3 time I will be in china... I will have to have someone send me the information then.
  6. Thank you.. I'm sold!!!! I see no reason not to choose Korean Air and their cheaper too!!! Korea here I come, i mean china here I come..
  7. Is alright i didn't take it that way.. Sometimes there are personal reasons for doing something differently even if there is another way that makes more sense.. I understand why someone would choose the CR-1 route over the K3 and I would recommend to anyone like you have done with me. It may be hard to understand why someone would choose the K3 route with a much easier and faster way to get things done, but it makes sense for us in our situation. If someone understands the old way of doing things (K3) i would be very grateful for any helpful advice to my questions. I am here as well to answer and help anyone along with the processes or anything else. We are here to support and help each other no matter what way we choose.
  8. Not opting in for electronic processing will get the CR-1 case file sent to China by the slow 3 month method after NVC compleates processing of the I-130. I-864 uses same financial evidence as you will use with I-134, simply make copies of this evidence to be included with both forms. I-134 is used at the consulate for K-Visas, I-864 is used for Immigrants, and it sponsors the green-card. I-864 is sent or emailed to NVC for CR-1, and in the case of K-Visa it will later be sent to USCIS when adjusting status from NON-Immigrant to Immigrant. Sorry this may sound redundant, but I will only be going for K3 (no change).. My original understanding was after I received the NOA2 I-130 and I129F is that then the case gets forwarded to GUZ, wife receives P3, sends P3, Receives P4 with interview date set and then interview takes place.. The only other doc I need to provide is the I-134 which will be presented at the interview.. I'm I missing something for the K3 visa. I will worry about AOS later when she arrives in the US
  9. And also when she moves here she cn buy this in the USA no sense in testing the customs officers at the POE. I'll bring them, it's kind of hard to find original foods from Tucson in China. It will make a nice gift and the taste is just not the same in china.
  10. What do i need to do? If I stick with the K3 process, is the case sent through the NVC without me doing anything? Should I call NVC 603-334-0700 to see if they received the approval and when it will be forwarded to GUZ. According to the Flowchart it's about 2 weeks in the NVC. Maybe i'm the "Last of the Mohicans" of the K3. USCIS will send both I-129F and I-130 on to NVC, It takes at least 2 weeks after NOA2 for NVC to receive the petitions, thne it takes them 2-4 weeks to process the I-129F(K-3) and send it on to the consulate, which then takes up to 3 months to be received by the consulate. During this time, you will get a letter from NVC requesting an I-864 and $70 fee for handling this form You can send these things via email if you optin to electronic processing, and pay the fees online to NVC. Your Wife can fill out a DS-3032 (Designating you as Agent) You will then be requested to email documents like DS-230 police report, marriage cert, ETC. Note everything you send them needs to be PDF format, this is not too hard to do you can use a normal scanner to jpg, or bitmap, and then paste these pictures into a word doc, you can download a PDF tool from MS for office 2007, that will save word docs to PDF format. Some scanners will scan directly to PDF format. (This may be done at the local Fed-EX or UPS store) I have a rough outline of whats involved here: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37703 Can I not opt for the E process? When I started this i don't remember the I-864 form.. I no longer need to fill out the I-134..
  11. you need a license to ship alcohol beverages through USPS, Fedex, UPS, etc... At least this was the rule of thumb when I was in the shipping business
  12. has anyone had any Korean Air experiences.. good or bad? Looks like this is the cheapest flight right now and I don't mind the extra 2 hours flight time and lay over.. I'm always concerned about the baggage allowance but it looks like all airlines are the same, 50 lbs each for two check bags.
  13. I know flowers, fresh fruit and etc... are outlawed when it comes to bringing them into china.. But I would love to bring some good old fashion dried cranberries and apples with me.. You think this might be a problem? I've brought beef jerky before which so many people love to try and i'm thinking about bringing american ginseng from wisconsin.
  14. I've used Elong in the past.. I think they partner with expedia.com when it comes to traveling from China to US. It's very easy and customer friendly.. another website wanted a copy of my credit card before i could book any flights with them.. Not sure of the name but they were out of Shanghai
  15. do you use them to and from china? any suggestions on what site to use when traveling within china and throughout asia from china.. Thanks for the Link, i'm checking the prices now..
  16. Thank you for the Link.. You think any US consulate can do in china...
  17. What are some good websites or travel agencies to use when traveling from china to another asian country like Thailand or vietnam. I've used Elong before but would like to price match flights, hotels and check what travel agencies have to offer for a vacation deals.
  18. Be carefull with them. I told them my dates and they sent me information with different dates becoz that was cheaper then the dates I wanted. I have used flychina.com and really like them. they did the same for me... I'm pretty much open when I travel, but just want to make sure I'm not taken
  19. How easy is it to renew your passport while traveling or living in China? I might not run into this problem, but I want to make sure I cover everything just in case.. Should I carry a original birth cert?
  20. Has anyone had any recent dealings with uschinatrip.com.. They seem to be the cheapest and I just want a little assurance before I pay them. I think they are out of San Fran and everything seems to be legit
  21. I need a little advice on how to mentally prepare for living in china. The first time I went to china it was a very enjoyable experience, I learned so much and just took everything in. When I returned it took a couple weeks to get back in the routine of things after living in china for six months. When I go back to China I would like to be a little more independent and not have to rely so much on my wife to do everything. This drives me nuts, sometimes I kind of feel helpless... Other than learning the language is there anything I can do or any suggestions that might help me feel more comfortable about living in China.
  22. Is it too soon to get the I-134 docs ready? I know the interview won't happen for another 3-4 months (K3). I'll be leaving for china very soon and would like to prepare everything before I leave next month. I will have tax transcripts, bank verification letters, letter from job, paystubs and co-sponsor info. I'm just a little worried when the interview happens, they will deny the application due 3 month old support info (bank verification letter, paystub, etc...)
  24. Good Luck Robert!! I'm hoping everything goes well and you will be back soon with your soul mate.
