Two questions DVD's and Which region?
Kyle replied to danb's topic in Communications, Planes, Shipping & Money
I agree w/ Tsap. (obvious/possibly not too helpful answer follows) I found them in China. If that's not possible, I would check out pp Live first. -
Black outs are common, but I haven't heard of this one before.

I watched 60 minutes last night. It was a very fitting accolade. I have always enjoyed his candor and his ability to off-balance his interviewees. Thanks for the memories.

Google translate is pretty decent and it's free

I use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's fairly light on resources, effective and free. I also use Malwarebyes anti malware. Using a free site advisor whether it be McAfee or something else kills many problems before they become your problem

Get Green Card Through Assets, Not Income
Kyle replied to KAM313's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Bingo. Also you might consider at least putting a resume on Monster.com and getting a few job leads. That will help show intent to reestablish domicile, and who knows if you land a sweet job, then the finance issue will likely work itself out- 4 replies

B2 Visa for my Chinese wife
Kyle replied to TexasBuzzy's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Jingjing received two B2 visas after we were married. Jingjing did freeze her accounts in China (through Citic). Everything that Dan mentioned is good. Some other things you might consider are: A written itinerary outlining your visit to the States. Letters from family members inviting her to visit. If you have a job lined up in Shanghai, a letter from your employer/contract for you would be helpful in showing that the both of are planning to return after your visit. Since she owns property and has a nice nest egg saved up, I think you guys have a good shot, especially if you prove that you're coming back as well. To me, it seems like an easy call. If they say no, then they say no, but I think you have a good shot -
Almost late for church this morning. I second the whole hate the bump forward thing. Let's all move to AZ

yangs are good people. they also proved helpful for us while in GUZ

So far, I haven't received any of the above critiques. I'll have to think of some of the ones Jingjing says and get back to you all. . .

P4 will be snail mailed to her. That being said she can always download a digital copy of everything off of the consulate website: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

Completely agree

I've been following the NYTimes China section for years. Good stuff

Sent mine to the Yangs - It cost 300.00 RMB, if I remember correctly for them to process it and ship it to Wuhan (at the time the consulate didn't mail to Wuhan directly) using the same EMS delivery method

From what I read, both are the same, however you need to file at the location having jurisdiction over where you reside in China, ultimatly the visa interview will happen in Guangzhou. Yup, File whichever consulate has jurisdiction of your area. You I-130 will ultimately be forwarded to Guangzhou, which is where the interview will take place

To add to Beachey, I believe the Biometrics fee is waived, if I remember correctly.

I thought about a secured credit card, but I didn't have the 500.00 at the time needed to load on it. I can't remember which one we looked at Another option for those enrolled in school is to take advantage of the credit card offer booths which are often set up for new students at the beginning of a school term. That's when I got my first card. It's also when I discovered ebay and the dangers of impulse purchases but that's another saga altogether. . .
