  1. I don't think it would be a problem, but just want to make sure. Do we need to have the required documents in place before sending the P3 back or can we send it back right away and then get the required documents right after? Thanks.
  2. It's getting close for my fiancee to get the documents such as birth certificate and so forth. I have heard some member said to get 4 copies. Just want to make sure, the extra copies are just for in case the first one is lost, right? How many do we realistically need? Do most people, say, get two original copies in Chinese and two original translations in English? Thanks.
  3. Yes. We would feel more secured getting things done ahead of time. Another thing, about getting the vaccination, is that after getting the vaccination, pregnancy should be avoided, some say 4 weeks, but some say 6 months!? I guess I would have my fiancee ask the doctor about it to make sure.
  4. That's correct. If time allows, we would take the exam in GZ; otherwise, we would have to take the exam in BJ.
  5. Thanks for the detailed and handy information!
  6. I also am interested in knowing. Did you find out more after the post? Also, which of the clinics are close the train station or airport? Thanks.
  7. That makes sense. EMS shouldn't take a whole week
  8. Looking at the recent timelines at VJ, from the time GUZ sends out the P3 to fiancee, it's about a week. EMS is supposed to be express mail right? Why does it take a whole week? Any ideas?
  9. So should I combine the two answers to read: for K visas, the interview date will be set 3 to 6 week prior, and the date will be approximately 2 to 3 months from the date GUZ receives the files from NVC? It seems somehow GUZ knows that the interview date 2 to 3 months ahead of time, but they are not seeting it until it's 3 to 6 weeks from the interview date. Is that correct?
  10. I am seeing conflicting info here? http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/iv_faqs.htm 11. I received a letter from NVC stating that my case has been sent to the Consulate. When will my interview appointment be? NVC sends this letter when the case is transferred electronically to Guangzhou. The interview cannot take place, however, until the physical file arrives at post. Due to unavoidable delays in getting files through Chinese customs, it takes about 3 months for them to arrive at the Consulate after being shipped by NVC. Once the Consulate receives the physical file, it will send a letter to the applicant with information about how to proceed with their application. Once all necessary documents have been submitted; all security checks have been completed; and (for numerically limited visa classes) the visa is available; the Consulate will schedule the interview and notify the applicant. Interviews are typically scheduled 3-6 weeks in advance. 29. I have submitted the information requested in my ¡°Packet 3¡± instruction packet. When will my interview take place? For fianc¨¦/e and immediate relative visa applications (i.e., K and IR visas), interview appointments are generally scheduled for 2-3 months from the time we receive the physical petition from the National Visa Center (NVC) or the relevant USCIS office in China.
  11. surprised some few insights. anyway, asked a friend of mine and she confirmed it was in Chinese characters. Thanks.
  12. Was wrong about Tuesday pick up being the luckiest, in fact, it looks like they are the un-luckiest, Monday pick up is the luckiest. And the weight has to be at 4 lbs or below: more tracking numbers: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256650130 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256650001 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649990 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649986 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649975 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649942 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649931 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649872 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649301 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649290 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649286 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649275 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649264 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649253 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649242 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649231 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649220 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649216 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9256649205
  13. OK. Some have already known, but here is the evidence. For packages at 4 lbs or under, they are being cleared out of customs at Fridays. And it takes 3 days, including the time zone change, to go from US to China. So if your package is picked up on Tuesday, you are the luckiest, if picked up by Wednesday, un-luckiest http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253276141 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277272 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277283 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277294 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277725 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277736 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277740 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277751 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277773 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277784 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277821 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277832 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277843 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277854 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277865 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253277876 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278613 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278624 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278646 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278661 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253278672 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279405 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279416 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279420 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253279556
  14. Dear fellow CFLers, Could those of you who have already received P3's tell me if GUZ will use Chinese characters for Finance(e)'s address? I would think they would since the mailing is within China. Could you please kindly let me know? Thanks!
  15. I have been tracking packages on DHL site. For the packages going to China, they are few and far in between. That might be that most CR visas are being transferred electronically. However, for K-visas, NVC is still sending the physical files via DHL. And according to my finding, they are few and far in between. That might bode well for the recent K-visa applicants becasue that could mean GUZ might be processing fewer apps and thus might go through apps faster.
  16. I like that. I'll type the letter and have it notarized here free in the state. It shouldn't make difference whether you typed or wrote. Typing seems look much cleaner and more formal in front of VO. I just canceled the appointment of notarizing my document in ACS. This thread is one of the most helpful thread, there is just so much important information in it. Thanks. Mei & Steve How can you get notorization for free? And when do you give this Evolution of Relationship letter to the consulate? During the interview?
  17. Here is the information I got. I called again and NVC said they transferred the files electronically, one day after they shipped it out physically. I then called DOS, they said electronically means sending an email. Guangzhou said we had to wait for several weeks, DOS said we had to wait for 2 months at least. Looking at other people's timelines though, their fiance(e)s get the P3 about 7 days from the NVC transfer. I am hoping this would be true for our case. I wish they could be more transparent and more accurate on this. All I can do is wait at this point. One encouraging thing is that this package also got cleared in about 10 days from pick up: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9251600363 Thanks for all for your inputs.
  18. We also paid 1,000 for 3 documents, so that's about right. It is a lot of money.... Make sure you get at least two copies of each. They gave you to copies for each for 1000 RMB? Thanks.
  19. Look at the tracking links I have posted. It clearly says Clearance Delay. Mine is still in Custom since mid June. If you front load your document and it is more then a few pound you will have to wait. Since the pivot program only send file electroniclly is there still a point to front load? Joe Hum... I wonder why? This one was picked up 7/7/2009 and delivered 7/14/2009. http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9350522016 I hope your package will be delivered soon.
  20. Look at the tracking links I have posted. It clearly says Clearance Delay.
  21. Yours was back in 2008. We are talking about now, NVC and GUZ have started a pilot program where cases are sent to the consulate electronically, I believe this is automatic for K-Visas, and needs to be requested for CR/IR visas. The electronic process avoids the customs delay all together. Funny, I was about to start to new thread regarding NVC to GUZ. I don't believe they are doing electronic transfer automatically. In fact, I was told by GUZ consulate that our files are being sent physically. I then became very concerned about this long way. GUZ said the wait could be 3 to 4 months. DOS said it could be up to 6 months. I think those are for the worst scenarios. I then did some alaysis on DHL tracking: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9337393402 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9340027292 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9340028375 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9343817652 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9350522016 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9251600363 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9250708036 http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9253276141 The early ones are out of custom and delived in about a week -- that's very good. However, one of the new ones are in delay and there is no sight of it being cleared out of custom. I am hoping it will be cleared out very soon -- hoping that the average custom delay is about 4 to 6 days? Thanks.
  22. My fiancee just called the notary place asking how much they charge to translate the 3 documents. They said 1000 RMB. That seems to be a lot of money just for translation in China. Is that right? Thanks.
  23. You do have a point there, many over there may be thinking why pack up and move to the USA in this uncertain economy? I was kinda hoping that's true too
