  1. Reading the faq: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/iv_faqs.htm For K-1, they said they had to receive the physical files before scheduling the interview. I checked some recent timelines, it seemed that it's very quick, around 10 days, for GUZ to receive the files, but I am not sure if that's physical files or not. I know there are people with August interview dates here right? Could you please tell me if the Custom Hold Up still exists today? Can I expect my files to reach GUZ from NVC in couple weeks? Thanks!
  2. That my original thought. The GUZ consulate should be OK with Chinese character EMS right?
  3. For the EMS label, should we use Chinese, since the mailing will be to a China address, or should we use English? Thanks.
  4. Funny I just asked about when to pay this fee on my other thread. So this fee can be paid after sending back the P3, right? We will need to receipt for the medical and interview, right? Thanks!
  5. 1. DS-230 part 2 is not used for K-Visas, it is used for Immigrant visas like CR-1 and IR-1. K-1 use DS-156K instead. 2. Just the English version, the Chinese version is provided as refrence for filling out the English version. Have one more question For the "K Nonimmigrant Visa Application Fee", do we need to pay the fee before sending out P3? Thanks!
  6. Oh, by 'state', do you mean status? I got my NOA2 and am waiting for NVC to forward my case to GUZ. I am hoping they process my case as fast as the others, which is about 8 days.
  7. I think so too. From the timelines I have been seeing, from sending back of the P3 to the interview is like 2 months. I am in California.
  8. This is how it is done, US Citizen petitioner calls DOS Visa services a couple of times a week, and as soon as DOS indicates that Guangzhou has sent out packet 3, the beneficiary in China mails the documents to Guangzhou. DOS Visa services is: 202-663-1225 The GUZ or GZO case number is noted on the forms (OF-169) so the consulate can and will match this up with the file. You can download and fill out DS-230 Part 1, and OF-169 from DOS and Guangzhou. OF-169 DS-230 And mail them to: United States Consulate Guangzhou IV Unit 1 Shamian South Street Guangzhou, 510133 PRC Thanks for being some helpful! Couple more questions: 1. What happens to DS-230 Part II. Do we get it in the mail? 2. When sending the packet, do we send both the English version and the Chinese version? Thanks!

OF-169 DS-230 And mail them to: United States Consulate Guangzhou IV Unit 1 Shamian South Street Guangzhou, 510133 PRC That's right. I forgot about the OF-169. Is DOS same as NVC? the number for NVC is 603-334-0700 though. I am still waiting for my NVC case number... Thanks for answering my questions!
  10. When filling out Chinese names on forms, where it doesn't specify Last Name or First Name, but rather just Full Name, should we put Last Name first (I am thinking adding a comma after it) or First Name first and Last Name last (That might be confusing). For example, Li is the Surname, XiaoShuang is the given name. On the form, should it be: 1. Li, XiaoShuang 2. Li XiaoShuang 3. XiaoShuang Li ? I think #1 is the least confusing, isn't it?
  11. I see some people send the P3 packet out before even receiving it. I am curious to know how the GUZ consulate can link the packet with the petitioner? In DS-230 Part I, it doesn't really have the petitioner info except maybe the US Address in field 10.
  12. She is just a small time ball bearing designer. She doesn't even have a college degree as of now. She is night schooling to get her college degree. Is that still a problem? Thanks!
  13. Not Clear? "Do NOT send the actual documents to the Consular office, as we will have to destroy them." is pretty clear to me. It says DO NOT SEND THEM ANY OF THE GATHERED DOCUMENTS. All you retur to the consulate is the OF-169 form and DS-230 part 1. 1) Correct, however you send OF-169 AND DS-230 Part 1. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/up...m169-May_09.pdf 2) You can, however get the I-134 from US Citizen Petitioner closer to interview time, get it after you get P3, Police certs, and Marital status cert (Un Married) doc is considered to be valid for 1 year. 3) The Notary office where these documents can provide translations. 4) YES, that is what I Did, I brought the I-134 and supporting documents with me when I traveled to China to be with my Wife for her interview. 5) You don't need to check anything that do not exist and do not need to put N/A either. 6) Correct, they are satisfied with work data entered into the forms. Hi, for "The Notary office where these documents can provide translations." You mean in China right? Hopefully my fiancee doesn't have to travel too far for this. He is not living in cities like GuangZhou where translation services are amply available. Thanks for answering my questions!
  14. For item 4, I think I am covered. I have good W2 and 1099 Income for the past three years. For item 6, she is a ball bearing designer. Since this is a K-1 fiancee visa, I wonder why a resume is ever required. Thanks for your answers!
  15. Hi, My fiancee and I are trying to understand as much as possible to get thing as quickly as possible. We are still waiting for the P3. On GUZ site http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/fo...and_packets.htm, there is the "Instructions for immigrant visa applicants (OF-169)" form. Reading it, there are many check boxes for various documents. It's not clear if they want these documents to be sent to them via mail or not. At the top, is says "Do NOT send the actual documents to the Consular office, as we will have to destroy them." The at the bottom is says "Only submit one copy of each document when you are interviewed (However, multiple photographs are usually expected and welcome)." 1. So I guess the various documents are needed only during the interview right? All we need to sent is the Instructions for immigrant visa applicants (OF-169) right? 2. If that's the case, should we be obtaining the required documents now? 3. About "TRANSLATIONS", how is this relevant? My fiancee is in a city where there are few translation services, if any at all. Will this be a problem? I guess I can't act as her translator right? 4. For "EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT", should I do that right away and have it sent to her ASAP? I am planning to go to the interview with her. Can we check the box first and then have I carry the EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT document personally to her? 5. There are some documents that are not application, such as "COURT AND PRISON RECORDS". Do we need to put N/A next to them? 6. I think "RESUMES" is not application for K-1 visa right? Thanks for your time and help!
  16. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/iv_k1/k2.htm You do not need to opt in on this one, it will be automatically done. Sit back and relax, and wait for P3. Note: even-though the case will be sent to them electronically, you still may end up waiting a couple of months waiting for P3, the consulate tends to be back-logged and simply put cases on hold and services them first come first served. Oh, here is what is confusing, in the site, it says: "If you are a K visa applicant and you have opted in for electronic processing" It sounds like you have to opt in...

Thanks for the encouragement and info. I am so eager to find out. I have checked a lot of timelines after May NOA2. It seems it's fairly quick to get P3 -- less than one month after NOA2. I hope that's true from now on for all cases! I am anxious to find out my time time. Thanks again for answering my questions.
  18. Hi, I heard about the new electronic processing option in NVC. I am a K-1 petitioner. First I read that the new pilot program is available for the other visas, then on this forum it says the K-Visas are automatcially enrolled, then I read someone here called NVC about it two weeks ago and were told that they are sending the case electronically to GuangZhou automatically. I called NVC last night to find out more. They told me the case will be sent via DHL, the old way. I am confused and hope that they would send files to GuangZhou via electronic means. Does anyone have any experience for K-1 visas regarding the new NVC pilot program? Thanks!
