  1. Extra copies of the white book or extra copies of the birth cert from the policy department? She went to the policy department and got the original, in her words, it's a form where she fill in the blanks, then turned in the original to the notary, they write it in Chinese, they then put a SEAL and a stamped signature there, then translated it, then put the Chinese and English into a white book. They didn't put the original form from the policy department. Also, member "YiandE" said his wife/fiancee had to sign the white book. But there is no place for my fiancee to sign. It looks like it's nicely done, but no signature required from my fiancee. I just hope things are ok. The notary should know what they are doing, I hope. (We paid over 1100 for the 3 docs: 3 birth white books, 2 unmarried white books, and 1 policy white books)
  2. Hum... does this differ from place to place. They just made the white books for her. Each white book has Chinese and English together. The white book doesn't have pages for her to sign. There was a stamp and stamp signature on the Chinese version. The english was just translation, without stamps. Are we getting the correct white books?
  3. Only the unmarried cert has a copy in the white book. For the policy records and birth cert, they were just stated as facts in the white book, notarized, then the translations were there in the same book. Both my fiancee and I thought that the notary would know what they were doing. And thought what we got from them would have enough authority for future needs. I'll have my fiancee ask them to see if they would give the originals back to her. Otherwise, would copies of the originals plus the white books be enough?
  4. For the P3 certs, my fiancee got the white books. It has Chinese and English, notarized. However, the notary didn't give back the first originals to my fiancee. Are they needed in the Consulate? Thanks!
  5. My fiancee just got the various certs, original and notarized. She said she didn't have to sign any one of them. How come your fiancee/wife needed to sign them? Could you please give me some ideas? Thanks!
  6. For the P4 medical forms, do we need to fill out my fiancee's name and case number and so forth, or will the hospital take care of the whole thing? Thanks!
  7. dnoblett, thank you very much for the help! you always come back with excellent helpful answers! I went ahead and found the link the all the example forms. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples they will be very helpful, i am sure
  8. The DS-156 form is a little funny for K-1. First, question 25 says "Name and telephone numbers of person in U.S. who you will be staying with or visiting for tourism or business". Is it staying for good like marriage or staying for tourism or business only? Maybe it's a gramma issue. Anyway, I think my fiancee should put my info there. What is really confusing is question 36. I am the only one who has ever petitioned for my fiancee. Should we say yes to this question and put my name there? Would this confusing the consulate? Or should we put no? Any advice? Thanks!
  9. Congratulations!!!! That was really smooth! Is there any photo printing service at Yangs or close by? If we arrive late at 10PM or so, could we still have our photos printed? Thanks!
  10. I know. I was thinking to myself and got a little upset. They helped me to gather everything up for the i-129f, for a fee. I thought the i-134 service was included. Went there, they said 40 bucks... the rest is history
  11. A fill in everything firm. They fill out the i-134 for me.
  12. Haven't got it back yet. But they said they would notarize and so forth. Could I have done it myself? Anyone done it themselves?
  13. I was checking on the Packet 4 docs, for the Nonimmigrant_Fiance_Visa_Application_DS-156K.pdf, it asks for "Evidence of Engagement to Your Fiance(e)", what is needed?
  14. Do you have their phone number? Is there another post just yang's? Thanks!
  15. What is the price for Yang's and would you recommend it? Is it within a short walking distance from the consulate? Thanks!
  16. Your attorney must know some secret to "opt in" for electronic processing for K-1. Publicly, K-1 is not eligible for pure electronic process. Even though NVC may transfer the files electronically, GUZ will still need to wait for the physical files for the next step. Many people are envious of you I am sure
  17. Birth cert you NEED two copies and two translations. Birth cert may be needed in the USA when you apply for marriage license, SSN, DL, adjustment of status, bank account, etc... VJ AOS Guide: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos Just a quickie. for the I-485 - submit a COPY (not the original white book) of the birth certificate. They can ask to see the original white book at the interview (so be prepared to bring it) When you need to SHOW the birth certificate (for other stuff ) then you show the WHITE BOOK. The White Book is the Notarial Translation 'thingie'. FWIW, she'll have 3 different ones made? Police Certificate, Birth Certificate, Affadavit of 'Single Status'. Some of us, myself included, have had had extra 'originals' made at the notarial office - 3 of each type (sure, some it was overkill ).. We are going to get 2 sets (chinese + english) of birth certs, 1 set of 'single status' cert, and 1 set of police cert. After that, can we make copies and submit one copy for the I-485? Not sure what that is yet.
  18. Just read about this http://candleforlove.com/FAQ/CFL_FAQ_P3_Final1.htm#Q1_15 The FAQ says the date should be August 3rd, 2005, but on the forms, it specify the formats to be like mm-dd-yyyy or just mm-yyyy, so I would think to write 08-03-2005 Is the FAQ just out of date? Or it doesn't matter?
  19. How about the MARITAL STATUS CERTIFICATE? Will they ask for it when we get married in US?
  20. Just curious, what service do people use to send I-134 to their fiance(e)s? I am bringing it with me, but I am thinking of sending it using just UPSP with certified mail just to be safe.
  21. Hum... my fiancee said some document(s) was only valid for 3 months. But we can get all documents within couple weeks I think. And thanks for the reminder on that support affidavit document -- not going to forget that
  22. Here you can estimate how long it takes for EMS to deliver: http://www.ems.com.cn/altlOutAction.do?reqCode=begin For the anxious minds, it might be useful; otherwise, it's really just good for a few days at most, hopefully
  23. It's very likely that your P3 was sent out already. You should call to make sure.
  24. Right, that makes sense. In fact, if you do it too soon, they expire. Right?
  25. So for the minimum: for BIRTH CERTIFICATE, she should get 1 original in Chinese, and 2 originals in English translation for POLICE CERTIFICATE and MARITAL STATUS CERTIFICATE, she needs to get just 1 original in Chinese, and 1 original in English translation Right? Do people get extra originals in translations or Chinese version just in case they lose the document -- I have a hard time imagining why would they be lost since they won't be mailed out. Thanks.
