  1. I can not say anything about them, I used VisaRite. They did good for me and got me a multiple entry 120 day visa with them. My reply is a duplicate to Corbin's. I have used VisaRite a number of times in the past and will again in the future. Most services that cater to Chinese visa's are pretty much price comparative, although the coupon being offered by Master Visa Service does make it somewhat cheaper. If you choose them, I would pay the extra amount for the overnight return vs. the included self addressed envelope option. I have had no issues with VisaRite. Clayton
  2. Obie, This is your choice. Although, I would use her married name on all applications. If you wish to travel, purchase the tickets in her Chinese passport name and carry all other ID's with you. Clayton
  3. Corbin, I would certainly feel more comfortable presenting a printout from the phone company of your calls. I knew this early on in the process and although other companies were a bit cheaper than the one I chose, at least it provided me with a printed log of my calls. We used OneSuite.com as many here do. Charges to China are 2.2 cents per minute. Viewing your timeline, it would seem that you have time to amass many a phone call with a company that can provide you with an official printout. If using a company that does offer a great price at a much cheaper rate, take your hand written log and don't let it worry you too much. Our VO didn't look at a single page other than my financials and our photos in the entire "kitchen sink". Best of luck to you! Clayton
  4. USPS Express International. Cheaper than others and I feel it would be the most secure. I have sent many packages, letters and documents via USPS with never an issue and always on time if not a day or two prior to estimated delivery date. As many, I hand carried ours to GUZ. Never out of our sight. We put too much into it to trust it with anyone else. Use Chinese characters for the address and of course, include her phone number that she can be reached at. Darnell offered good suggestions also. Clayton
  5. Kris, Much, much... CONGRATS!!! So glad to know all has gone so well for you both. We can only wish such a swifty timeline also. It was a pleasure to meet you in GUZ. Hope your happiness abounds for you and Jing as ours does. Clayton & Wen Li
  6. I think I am the "another CFL'er" Gino...Lol. Welcome to the thread.
  7. scooby...Hoping as I have read, that being transferred to CSC is a good thing, but time will tell. Luckily you have had your biometrics, as most have in a timely manner and this is a good thing! Wishing you a speedy and successful outcome. I'll be watching your posts and timeline. ILS...Thanks for your update. Glad to know also that your biometrics date is scheduled. I am on your side with the thought of having a biometrics appointment is a requirement, but stay tuned. Lol. You just never know. What is odd is that I and another CFL'er filed the same day and USCIS received the same day, yet we both have passed the 30 day mark for a scheduled appointment. Perhaps someone was asleep that day. Thanks for the tip on the info pass at our local office. I will study up on this and follow through. Wishing you all the luck also. Clayton
  8. jhammer, Try this link: http://www.usa-federal-forms.com/immigration.html Then scroll down and click on this link: G-325A, Fillable, Savable, Ver. ITAOP On this form and all other forms on this site you can use any size font and many different sized fonts on the same form, arrange/center text anywhere in the form blanks, use any color font and so on and so on. Numerous options. Same as you, I had difficulty fitting in addresses until I found this site. It works GREAT!!! Read the instructions on the first page and it takes some practice, but I completed 95% of all forms for the immigration process using the forms on this site. It also offers many fillable forms in other languages including Chinese. If you like it, here is the link to the entire website that offers over 16,000 government forms: http://www.usa-federal-forms.com/about-forms.html Hope this helps. Clayton
  9. I, along with another member here, have yet to receive our biometric appointment dates for AOS. Contacted USCIS last week and was informed that a biometrics appointment date is normally received by the petitioner within 30 days of USCIS's receipt of an I-485 application. Since I was several days short of this 30 day requirement, I was told to call back this Monday, in which I did. When I called, they took our information and filled out a "service request" that will be sent to our local biometrics office here in Nashville and provided us with a request confirmation number. I was then told that if we do not receive an appointment within 45 days to call USCIS once again. This brings me to my questions... Has anyone else had difficulty receiving their biometrics appointment date and had to seek a service request to get one scheduled as we have? Has anyone received their AOS appointment or green card without a biometrics appointment? On our I-797C it reads that, "if required" a biometrics appointment will be scheduled. I would assume that this would be a requirement...correct? Thanks, Clayton
  10. My wife paid 240 RMB total in Oct. '06. The passport cost was 200 RMB and passport photo was 40 RMB. Approx. $35 US Dollars. She is also from Nanning where she obtained her passport. Surely as time passes, prices change. Hope this helps. Clayton
  11. Michael, This does seem odd. I have difficulty understanding why they wouldn't give you a copy if they allow you to receive one at a later date if needed. We were given a copy stamped "copy" without asking. Glad to read you are wrapping it all up for delivery soon. Take care. Clayton
  12. scooby, Lol...I wish I could help with this one, but I got lost in the prompts myself and actually wound up with the wrong department, yet she was very friendly and assisted me with the questions I had once she pulled up our receipt number, regardless of the department she worked in. I kept track of the prompts up to a point...1, 2, 2, 6 then 1 and after that I got lost. Hoping I don't have to call them back, but I was told to call them again next Monday the 3rd if I don't receive our biometrics appointment in the mail by then. Arggh! If you figure out the prompts, let us know. Clayton
  13. scobby, Here's the number: 1.800.375.5383 Have her Alien number and Receipt number from the I-797 ready when you call. Hope this helps. Clayton
  14. Dave, Fantastic news for you and Christine!!! Very happy to read also that you didn't have to attend an interview for her green card. Many of us here can only hope to be as lucky as you two! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Clayton & Wen Li
  15. Zachary, I have yet to call to them, but intended to call this week just to make sure I have not missed or not received our notice for our biometrics appointment, but was busy during calling hours. Will call this coming Monday to verify if or when. How is this notice for appointment received and what office does it come from? Are there others here that have received their card without a biometrics appointment? I would assume it would be required for all. Clayton Ed, We hope for the same, no interview. Clayton
  16. Thanks Dan. Although I had read and re-read each I-797C numerous times, after reading your post I had to question myself and look again. I did not miss anything. I'd had been disappointed if I did overlook this scheduled appointment. It does read this: BIOMETRICS- The next step is to have your biometrics taken, if required, at a US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Application Support Center (ASC). PLEASE NOTE- USCIS WILL SCHEDULE YOUR BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT. You will be receiving an appointment notice with a specific time, date and place where you will have your fingerprints and/or photos taken. WHAT TO BRING TO Your appointment- Please bring this letter and your photo identification to your appointment. Acceptable kinds of photo identification are: - a passport or national photo identification issued by your country. - a driver's license, - a military photo identification, or - a state-issued photo identification card. If you do not bring this letter and photo identification, we cannot process you. Please bring a copy of all receipt notices received from USCIS in relation to your current application for benefits. ----------- No appointment time, date or address of office to bring the above to. Our NOA notice date is January 31, 2008. I am hoping with this new change that I read from your link, that we have not fallen through the crack. Clayton
  17. Gino, Hoping, as you, that we both find our biometric appointments soon. Our receipt number for the I-485 has been logged in since the 15th of February. As you know our case has been sent to CSC. Yesterday we received another I-797C stating just that. I have not had to call their number, but I would think by now there should be something on their computer system since they do have a case number assigned. I would call again soon and hopefully speak to another other than Lulu. Keep us updated. I will PM you with our biometrics appointment when it is assigned. Likewise. Clayton
  18. Thanks Dan for confirming what I had already assumed, but as most here I get nervous when I read others timelines. Must remember, patience, patience, patience. You'd think I'd have learned that during the last process. Clayton
  19. Thanks Dave, Mike and Dan. After reading your replies and following the link from Dan I am feeling hopeful, but not counting on anything too much. Reading others timelines, it seems most have had their biometrics appointments scheduled within several weeks after NOA1 is received. Should I worry of this yet? At some point they will require fingerprints and photos...correct? Clayton
  20. I learned today when I logged into USCIS's website and entered our I-485 case number that it has been transferred to California Service Center. It also states that a notice was sent to us explaining this. The notice has yet to arrive. This transfer of our case means what? Good or bad? We have yet to receive our biometrics appointment, should we have had one scheduled by now? Thanks, Clayton
  21. Michael & Fang, Much CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are happy to hear that the ceremony went well and was more than expected. Glad to know that your timeline is on schedule and hope that the next group of paperwork is nearing completion. We will be speaking with you soon and as always. we wish you both the very best. Clayton & Wen Li P.S. Welcome back to the Candle! We've missed you.
  22. I have been returning to USCIS's website to seek our "Case Status" of our I-485 and others online in order to view progression, no progression or what have you. I am using the same user name and password I did while tracking our I-129F application. I am trying to add our three new case numbers (Application Receipt Numbers), beginning with MSC and the site tells me: Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the app receipt number. I've tried all three numbers, yet same response. How long after receiving NOA1 can I expect to find these numbers entered into their computer so I can check via the internet? Or, am I going about this wrong? Thanks, Clayton
  23. ILS...As Dave states, marriage certificate and maiden name SS card was all that was needed for us. Simple and swift as the initial SS card was to obtain. Hope you have better luck next time around. Clayton
  24. So, her name on all of these don't match to her chinese passport... if she got the AP and tried to use it, it doesn't match any US based ID yet (because GC is still pending)... maybe it doesn't matter as you just need to have the plane ticket done the same as passport and use that as ID(?). David...Thanks for your input. I have never really given what you have now pointed out that much thought, but we only applied for AP since we could file all at the same time as the I-485. At this point, her state ID and SS card do not match her Chinese passport since we are now married and the passport is in her maiden name. As we only have travels within the U.S. scheduled this year and a planned return to China in Sept. '09 we will be hoping all goes well with our application and will have the green card in hand prior to this trip outside the U.S. If all else fails, (stuck in name check hell or other issues), prior to China departure, I will study up on your thought of putting the ticket in her name that does match the passport. Clayton
  25. RLS...Thanks so much! Hoping all will go as smoothly as the last process. Gino...I wish we had our biometrics appointment as does Zachary, but we have yet to receive it, so don't begin to worry yet. Reading your post just alerted me to his progression in the process. Yea!!! Perhaps we are not far behind. I know your mindset is muddled since you went through the P-3 nightmare wait. I remember it well. I am sure each state/city has different timelines and waiting periods depending on the amount of appointments that need scheduled. I am not in worry mode yet, in fact, no hurry or worry whatsoever. Just happy to have my paperwork in on time and the payment is in their hands. I'll be watching your timeline closely. roger...Always good to hear from you. Yes, not only has it been 5 months, my wife has now been here by my side now for nearly 3 months! I've followed your progress for months now and I can only wish your goal is reached very soon. To me, it seems like it has been a long wait for you, I am sure it seems like a lifetime to you. Every time I read your posts or scan your timeline, I hope to read of you receiving the P3....at least!!! All is very, very well for Wen Li and I. Life is grand! Busy enjoying the wonders of marriage and all we now share together...side by side. We wish you the best and a speedy completion to your visa process so you can soon catch up to us. Take care. Clayton
