  1. If I am correct, Threadbare did not have to disclose this info during the visa process for his SO as he filed prior to IMBRA. There are others past and present here on CFL that have had convictions and experienced no issues, other than a slightly longer timeline, during their process. Clayton
  2. Thanks Randy for the clarification and the additional info. Ours is the same, number 2 and 3 and the other without. I was just curious as if they had any meaning or not. I will not concern myself with these codes. Clayton
  3. Mark...The forms we used for the I-485 are: I-485 G-325A I-864 I-693A We also used optional forms: I-765 I-131 We included supporting documents with all forms. Don't forget, if you file the I-765 and the I-131 to also include two passport photos with these also. We used the name she wished on all forms starting with I-485 and used the same chosen name on all others as we will do throughout the process and forever more in our future. Here is a link to a post that had several questions and one that involves the name change we wanted to use: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29096 Here is a great link posted by yuan fen on his cover sheet for the I-485 and more that alerted me to my passport photo error for the two optional forms in case you missed it: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27124 Zachary...Lol. I don't feel so alone now! Sorry you fell into the same boat as myself. Please let me know when/if you get your RFE for them. Good luck to you both. Clayton
  4. jim...Thanks again and thanks for the link to your past post. I will follow through as you list. We are very happy that the NOA's arrived in the name she wishes. Gino...Happy to read that you also received your NOA1's. We seem to share the same timeline as others. It will be interesting to see how each city near us handles our biometric appointments. Dave...You are so correct. I count my lucky stars! Clayton
  5. Zachary, I prepared our I-485 with all the proper paperwork and photos. I am not concerned of an RFE on it, but I have been wrong in my life before. Lol. I did not realize that the I-765 and I-131 needed two photos each also. With my new wife here by my side, I let my guard down a little and failed to read the instructions properly for what was required for these two documents. I feel the I-485 will keep pace with all the others. Glad to know you and Lychee are right there with us. I'll be watching your timeline also. Clayton
  6. Thanks Gino...but it's easy getting these NOA1's, as they are only notice of receipts and payment. Happy to get them though. Hoping all goes well with the next steps. I'll be happy when I learn of our biometrics appointment. I've noticed your timeline, have you not received your notice/s yet? You filed a couple of days ahead of us. Take care, Clayton
  7. Thanks Dave. And to think...these three NOA1's cost me only...$1,010! Using your timeline as a guide. Hope all is well with both you and Christine. Clayton
  8. As always Dan...Thanks. I now know how to track our cases with the MSC numbers. As you state, I must be more patient now since they have yet to enter them in the computer as the site tells me today. Clayton
  9. Sent our K-1 AOS paperwork in on January 25. Check cashed on February 1. Today received three I-797C's, NOA's. One each for I-485, I-765 and I-131 with receipt dates of January 27 and notice dates of January 31. As I know I have failed to include two passport photos in our I-765 and I-131 I can expect an RFE soon on each of these. Does anyone know when I might get these RFE's and from who? On the I-485 and I-765 NOA it has an ASC code number, each different. The I-131 NOA does not list an ASC number. The ASC number is in reference to? Also, I was hoping to find a number other than my wife's A# on these NOA's, so I can track progress on USCIS's website of our I-485, but do not see any other numbers. How can I track progress of our I-485? As jim, Dan and others informed me, we could use the name of choice on the forms listed above and today we were very happy to find all three notices with the name as we had hoped on them. Yea! We will hope this does not cause confusion in the rest of this process and the changing of her passport come time. Thanks, Clayton
  10. Thanks Dan. Well, poop! And I did so well with all the prior documents. I guess I relaxed a bit too much now that my wife is here with me. I sent a check for $1,010. Will this be an issue when I get an RFE on the two forms without the photos? Clayton
  11. As I have just finished reading yuan fen's informative post http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...=27124&st=0 showing his cover sheet for filing AOS K-1 to late to correct my submission. I know see that I was required to send two passport photos for the forms I-765 and I-131 that I sent along with our I-485. I failed to do this. I assumed that what I sent would suffice for all forms. What will happen now? Thanks, Clayton
  12. YEA! One more hurdle complete. All's well until that cashed check helps deplete your bank account. I am only hours behind you. Ours was sent out overnight yesterday. Hated sending it out on a Friday, but wanted to send the same date, one year apart from sending I-129F. Arrived in Chicago at the pick-up point at 9:27 AM today, January 26. Have been told they will receive it at opening on Monday morning. I will be watching your timeline closely. Clayton
  13. Thanks so much to all. Things are looking well in our home this year. The married life is bringing me smiles upon smiles. Life is good! Thanks for the info, links and the posted Pub 519 page. Clayton
  14. As I was married in Dec '07, I intend to file as "Married." Wife has SSN, but has not worked. How do I file? 1) Married filing jointly 2) Married filing seperately Also, the form asks me to check this box if my wife: Is not a U.S. citizen or resident alien. How is this answered? Any help on how to go about filing now as a married couple would be helpful. Thanks. Clayton
  15. Gino, Congrats on completing yet another round of punishing paperwork and painful payment. I will be a few days behind you, I plan to mail out ours on this coming Friday, January 25, 2008, one year exactly from the date of sending out our I-129F. I will be following your timeline closely so I can see how and when we should expect what's next. Good Luck! Clayton & Wen Li
  16. Thanks again Dave! Understood. Time to complete the form. Clayton
  17. Thanks Dave. By chance, is a vacation to a nearby country out of the question for travel with this document or is it designed for more appropriate reasons such as you have listed? Clayton
  18. I am having difficulty understanding on how exactly to fill out the I-131 travel document that I intend to file with our I-485. I have viewed the sample form on VJ, yet still find confusion. I am filing the I-131 now in hopes to save time and money soon. Perhaps during the wait, my wife and I may travel to Mexico for a weeks vacation in May or June. I have checked box "a" in part 2 for the above scenario, is this correct? If this is correct, how do I answer part 5? Or, should I check box "d" in part 2 for the above scenario? If so, it tells me to skip to part 7 then states: On a separate sheet(s) of paper, please explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant issuance of advance parole. Include copies of any documents you wish considered. ???? Also, the form I am using expires on 11/30/2007. Is there an updated form anyone can provide a link to? Thanks for the help. Clayton
  19. Thanks Randy. I will just attach the envelope to a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper as I intend to send the 485 package with the two hole fasteners at the top as I did the I-129F. Clayton
  20. Late last week, after completion of the immunizations for my wife by the local civil surgeon, we arrived to receive the results. We were given a copy stamped "copy" of the I-693 supplement with his signature and also a standard white envelope with the name of the medical practice and doctors name as the return address, wife's name hand written on the front and an "Original" stamped upon it. On the back of the envelope it is stamped "Confidential" several times, his signed signature and then sealed over the top of all with tape. Is this standard procedure? If so, how do I include this with my I-485 AOS paperwork that I intend to send out this week? Thanks. Clayton
  21. Claire, Yes. I spent hours of prep to make ours as neat and orderly as possible. Coversheet with tabs...the works. Bound as USCIS wishes. Here is a link for: General Tips on Assembling Applications for Mailing. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD This may help you. Clayton
  22. A big WELCOME bokiwen! You have either been directed or stumbled across this wonderful website and now have a great source of information and support. I remember my luck when I first found this site. All here have helped me complete our dream and still find friendships and support for all that lay ahead of us. Shenzhen writes of pros and cons of being there. I can only find, in my thinking, the pros. Not one con comes to mind. By all means, if you can arrange it with work, be there. The happiness of being there as your SO leaves the interview with the pink slip in hand is a moment that you will never forget! I won't. Also, your travels to GUZ are only a fraction of what most of us need to travel to be there. jim sums it up well and we also wish you the best of luck. Just a minor correction on jim's reply to you. ACH (American Citizens Hour) is now held on Mondays only. I already envy you for having the chance to live and work in China and have the opportunity to develop a wonderful relationship. Stick around, everyone is here for you. Clayton
  23. Thanks Randy and Mark. I've corrected my forms. Now completed with the 9 digit number. Clayton
  24. Completing all the forms for AOS and also viewing the sample forms on VJ, it has come to light that on my wife's I-94 it shows a 8 digit number being used. On her NOA2 it shows a 9 digit number. Sample forms show an 8 digit number being used. The 9th digit on her NOA2 is a "0" prior to the remaining 8 digits which is not shown on the I-94. Sorry for this question, but I tend to worry of every letter and number inserted into all the forms since day one. Should I use what is on the I-94 or the NOA2? Thanks, Clayton
