you need an I-134 for each K visa applicant. At least the one I used says this as the first sentence on the I-134 form.

Thanks to all the good wishes and... Yes, I went to ACH and also did the ACS. Also, I will post our interview session as soon as I translate it, although the questions were quite usual and lasted 5 minutes, ( it was conducted mostly in English , but my Fiancee only posted a transcript in Hanzi ). On the ACH and ACS aspects, One thing is the ACS. I got notarized the document "Evolution of Relationship Letter". This ended up being a big hit with the VO. Of course it wasn't actually read as part of the interview, but, It was clear I put time and effort into it, and it was less than 10 pages, so within reason. I actually made special stationary which was composed of craft-work with color copiers I did by copying and enlarging slightly all the entry-exit stamps in my passport at port of entries in China and also lifting the light blue background of the passport paper itself such that all 5 stamp pairs formed a sort of center background image on my custom "passport" stationary. My frustration and paranoia over WHICH paperwork and documentation would even be viewed and weighed for consideration in the final stages led me to do that in order to highlight how many times I had visited her. The first page was a page of contents: 1...5, of lists of my visits making it tough to miss that point :-) . On a related note, ironically enough, both the p4 letter referred to what I would think to be a supreme document - the I-134 as "optional" !!! and it apparently got little attention, even though I had some really nice supporting documentation which I put a lot of time into. I don't actually believe I-134 is optional, but that was the wording. Therefore, I think it was better that I got my letter notarized, vs the the copy of the I-134 - of course the original I-134 must be notarized, and I did that in the states before hand. At ACH, I was late, arriving at 2:40 PM, somehow I thought it started at 2:30.. I donno... Guangzhou as an experience was a bit of a magical mystery tour all around - but a good one nonetheless. Anyway, the guards and so forth let me in, and being called up, I asked the following: How long will the visa be good for? A really obvious thing I suppose, so the officer questioned me after telling me 6 months, and I explained I had heard that it could have an issue date that is dated from one of the dates prior to the interview, such as p4 or p3 date. He asked where I had heard that with some interest/concern and I couldn't remember. Anyway he said that only may happen on some unusual circumstance post-interview issue or something...I didn't really understand, and I left, mission accomplished.

Everything went great at the consulate. Feb, 26th we were approved, and we will be in America shortly. A big thank you to all the members here providing expert guidance.

The window slot is about 12" wide and 2 1/2" to 3" tall. Did you get your P4/Interview date yet? no interview date yet, but my SO is arranging accommodations so I should tell Wendy we will miss out on the kind offer of apartment. Is the slot like a bank window slot, where everything must bend to be passed through ? or could one pass a hard book through there if it were within the dimensions you have estimated ? Thanks!

Same. We had stickers in the photo album. Then figured out the album was too big for the slot to give it to the interviewer. So then we bought a small book, reprinted the pictures and stuck tiny sticky notes inside with just the month/year and names of the people in the pictures if there were more than 2 of us. Batmaniac, can you describe the slot you are referring to ? This is the first I heard of it. I have been spending a lot of time on a 17 inch x 12 inch hardbound binder in hopes this could be handed to the VO. Thanks for the help. JH.

Unless you don't want to be married, forget about Al. He should be able to take care of himself, you are very near to going out and looking for trouble with all the thought about poor Al. You will never be repaid by Al for being right that he is an idiot and can't take care of himself, so why go there ? Whereas, you will be repaid 1000-fold of sorrows for being stupid and going against your family :-) i disagrre this this view completly , talking about lives here, both of theirs. If he is to become family, then honest ? Serious indeed, but a family matter to be decided themselves. Maybe Dennis can change his family, maybe not, but are you suggesting he go against his family ? You know I am violating my handbook here to not go looking for trouble, but I have skimmed your posts as far as the widget shows me, and I agree. and have wanted to say as much to several posters here that seem to get the pat on the back for xenophobic, insensitive, non-bleading-heart messages. I think one of my comments back a while was simply, "So Provincial." Or should I say "Provincal" ? But, Hey, certain things are provincial. Like gritz, heehee ;-) We just live with it, like when I take my boy to China, and so many strangers want to touch him. We don't have a monopoly on acting provincial, so you are right to note it, it happens here for sure, and also right not to obsess about it. OK, but look at it this way. If you truly have an emergency, I think you can get by with saying you just met this person outside and they are HAVING AN EMERGENCY. You don't need to sign nuttin. Get him admintted, don't sign anything, end of story.

How, exciting ! This process gets more and more , exciting as the final hours approach ! I thought it would be more boring after all I did to get it started ! Heh. Wrong by me. Now, am I to understand this, because, I really need understanding to posture most expertly, that this entire 1 year ( happy estimate ) process and all my efforts so far will lead to a grand-finale where nearly half of the key information in my case will be presented for the first time in this interview of just a few minutes by an overworked and ( probably oversexed ) consulate officer who will choose not to look at even most of the objective paper work my SO will come prepared to show ? I mean, I was subscribing to the theory that the decision for approval/denial is already made before the IV much of the time... If that could at all be true, how could it be if they don't have the I-134 !! Letter of Employment or Taxes! A shot in the dark? What - the VO carefully reviews all the new critical information stuffed in page after page w/o a prejudicial opinion on the case the whole time watching the clock go by, and oh, supposed to be "interviewing" my SO at the same time ? Slow down, there! Your SO carries what she will into the interview. The VO looks at what he will. They already have what they already have. He MAY not look at ANYTHING, if the decision is already (or almost already) made. The moral of the kitchen sink is BE PREPARED to show the VO anything he MAY want to look at. And yes, the rest of your life may hinge on a five minute interview. It occurs to me, that, structuring an interview of an applicant to anything, such that key information be hauled in suitcases to such interview is patently incompetent at any level of management or function.
