  1. Thanks Clayton. Finally we are standing on the same line again. When do you and Wen-Li have time to visit SF? Gino Gino, LOL....you couldn't have asked this question at a better time. We are traveling from Nashville to my home city of Seattle on Sept. 3 and after several days we will be driving south along the coast of Oregon on 101 and ending in SF! We hope to arrive on Sept. 8, but only staying 2-3 days and then driving back to a family reunion in Seattle. We hope to visit Fisherman's Wharf and of course, Chinatown while there. Can we add you and Lulu and lunch or dinner to our schedule? Clayton How nice!! Lulu and I will be waiting for you. Let me know if you need me to arrange anything in SF. Great! Look in the near future for a PM. Already Wen-Li is excited. No schedule on paper, just wingin' it as we go. Clayton

  3. CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's about time!!! Clayton & Wen-Li
  4. spacebar, CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND YOUR LAO PO!!! Find it in your heart to celebrate. Yes, perhaps it is a bit of let down after such a long process and getting the GC in the mail with no fan fare, parade, blowing horns, balloons, etc., but if your Lao Po is anything like mine...it meant the world to her. She examined it again and again and shared it with whoever would take a moment to look at it, share her excitement and congratulate her and yourself. It's a huge accomplishment for you both. You've worked hard and come a long way. Time for a romantic dinner!! Enjoy. Clayton
  5. Lee, Gino finds it hard to believe that it has taken this long to reach this stage!!! LOL! Gino, this will be a cake walk for you with what Dan has supplied for you to be prepared and consider Tony's input. Very valuable. I have read where others have arrived at the interview with interpreters with a slight language barrier during the interview and were sent home to find another with better translation abilities. Best of luck to you both. Sorry it has taken so long. Happy to see you posting once again. Clayton & Wen-Li

NewDay, In his last post dated July 14, 2008 to another CFL'er reads: About my apartment, the one bedroom with a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom , the price is Rmb 220 per night. Two bedroom with a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, the price is Rmb 280 per night. My Phone number is 13724842886, my wife's phone number is 13725270589. She can speak a little English. You can tell your fiance call me by yourself. I speak Chinese is fluently. He also offers shared rooms at cheaper rates. You can call to inquire more at the numbers he's listed. Hope this helps. Missingyou, Regardless of the money saved, room cleanliness, etc., Mr. Yang's knowledge of the system, all the paperwork, hospital personnel and getting you from point A to point B around Guangzhou is a value within itself. Clayton

joanna, Welcome to CFL and congratulations on your interview date. You have chosen well, Mr. Yang and his accommodations will serve you well for the interview. WenDylan has provided you with the link to answer your first question and as you did not state what city you are from, here is the link that tells you the approved hospitals in all of China that you can have your medical exam completed: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/up...tions_GIV-8.PDF It is in both English and Chinese. Wishing you the best of luck at the interview!
  9. dale, Once the processing is complete it is entered into the DOS computers as being sent. At this point I assume that many P-4's are sitting in a box/boxes in GUZ for a couple of days or longer awaiting EMS to pick up or be delivered to EMS and this is when the tracking begins. Hence the delay. Just my guess though. Clayton
  10. I noticed when I attended ACH the person I spoke with was wearing what I assumed to be a government ID card on a "string" around his neck, but to keep it hidden he had it inserted in his front shirt pocket. No name badge was worn as I assume that they all would like to remain anonymous for obvious reasons. Clayton
  11. Spacebar, Keep checking that mailbox. It will arrive sooner than stated, I'm sure! Perhaps in the next few days. Congrats. Clayton
  12. Tom, I color photo copied all receipts from trains, hotels and any and all receipts related to my stay and travels in China and kept the originals. I did this with all airline tickets stubs, etc. also. Clayton
  13. george, Our I-485 was posted swiftly into their computer and we tracked it's course until we received our GC. Our I-131 and I-765 did not hit their computer for us to track until just a couple of days before approval on each. Not to worry since all was received at the same time as your I-485. I'm sure when you do see it posted on the site, the documents will be in the mail shortly thereafter. Clayton
  14. Like many cell phones here, you can choose numerous songs and have one downloaded to the phone to play when someone calls to your number. Perhaps this is what you are hearing. When the cell phone is not answered in a timely manner, a recorded message kicks in similar to what you are hearing. Clayton
  15. Maxal, Very close, but I think it was "Corbin" who you remember. Here are some posts of his prior to departure for Shenzhen and upon his return: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=28011&hl= http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=28661&hl= http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=28806&hl= Hope this helps. Clayton
  16. I was lucky enough to find CFL months prior to beginning any paperwork and I also debated using a lawyer. But, with all the help I received here, I didn't spend a dime on a lawyer. Yes...I did spend numerous hours preparing all, but like most have stated you will need to spend nearly the same amount of time gathering all documents, etc., and double, if not triple checking all they are doing for you...at your expense! I have read of success with lawyers, yet I have read even more of the mistakes, delays and more that have caused issues throughout the process. Plain and simple...our hearts are in it, theirs are not! Clayton
  17. Pete, shushuweiwei is spot on. The amounts listed are all close to the same we were quoted from several doctors, local clinic and the nearby civil surgeon. We had our physical in GUZ and we only needed the 693A document. My wife had no immunizations prior to arrival and needed them all. The civil surgeon administered the shots, the physical and signed the 693A for a bit less than $380. We would have paid nearly the same at other doctor¡¯s offices/clinic without the physical and still would have had to pay for the signature on the 693A. We paid the civil surgeon and got it over with at one location. But, don't settle for this solution as we did. Keep searching and perhaps another CFL'er will provide you with the most cost effective solution to your need. Clayton
  18. Don't worry of this for one moment! One trip is all that is required for the visa process and there are numerous others here on CFL who have obtained the "Pink" with only one trip. But, start putting a little aside each pay period because I am sure your future wife will have the want and need to return to visit her family from time to time. China is wonderful and cheap. Well worth the sacrifices you'll make now to afford your future travels to China later. We are soon to travel to Seattle for two weeks and the expense of this trip will cost double what a trip to China costs us. Here the food, gas, rental car, entertainment, hotels...etc., etc., does not make up for the airfare difference between the two destinations! Good luck in the "Pink" lotto! Clayton
  19. To be there in the coffee shop in the Consulate building, seeing her face and sharing the happiness of receiving the "Pink" just moments before was priceless and a moment in my life that I will NEVER forget and relive in my mind again and again forever more! If it were any other colored paper, I just wouldn't have felt comfortable being so many miles away, not being by her side to help console, reassure and comfort her would disturb me to no end. Not required to attend, but if any way possible, in my mind...it's a must! Clayton
  20. dale, Head to head. I understand her concern on the forms. I knew of the P4 forms being sent were printed front and back prior to filling out our forms. When we arrived in GUZ we stayed at Mr. Yangs and when he and the hospital staff viewed our downloaded forms, they both spoke of the new forms being printed on front and back and it seemed to be a concern and a topic of discussion between them at the hospital, but they accepted what we brought and we proceeded to obtain the "Pink" with the forms we downloaded. If I were to choose today, I would fill out the forms printed on front and back just to eliminate this one and only issue that was brought up during our process of the interview. Clayton
  21. george, Lol! Yes, timelines are not so much a bother once our SO's have joined with us. As for I-485's being forwarded to CSC and a chance of no interview...this is a possibility. I know several here, including myself, that have had theirs sent to CSC and received the two year GC with no interview. As Dan has written, it is no guarantee of by-passing the interview, but the trend I have seen recently with CFL'ers is that it is a good thing! Clayton
  22. What samsong states...keep trying to enter the numbers over the next few weeks. They will be entered soon enough and you will be able to track them then. Clayton
  23. Michael, Understand fully. Wife also heartbroken over this. Can Fang get contact number to niece? Perhaps update her on the situation? She may not know of the recent problems. I feel helpless also, but wishing for a more solid solution to her issue at hand. Clayton
  24. Thanks Michael. I have understood Wen Li correctly. She informed me of all you write. Waiting to hear more. A very sad situation. Perhaps it is time to stir nest. Clayton
  25. michaelt, Any recent developments on this? Fang and Wen Li have been discussing this and we would like to learn if anything more positive is in the near future for her. If not so positive, is there not someone/agency/community within your city that can assist her before she is "put out" on the streets? If I understand Wen Li correctly, his family members have shunned her and the marriage and are trying to make sure she is not included in any financial gains of any kind in case of death. Clayton & Wen Li
