  1. Congrats. My wife and were married March 9, 2009. We share your anniversary date.
  2. The family may have had other plans for her but sounds to me like she has clearly decided for herself what the plans for her future are. Hang in there, papa will probably warm to the idea eventually. Hope the day goes well for you.
  3. See, I knew one of you smart guys could help me. Thanks Kyle. How is the new life in Mezzura going? I love it there. I have family in Branson or actually near Branson. I took my daughters on vacation there summer before last and we had a blast. They still talk about the fire flies. We don't have them in California. Thanks again.
  4. have I seen a list of something like 95 practice interview questions floating around in various threads before. I'll be damned if I can find it. I've searched high and low with no luck. Does anyone else remember this list and give me an idea where to find it?
  5. Congratulations! I remember reading your posts about your uphill battle. Glad to hear you finally won. When will you bring her home?
  6. Glad to hear everything is going so smoothly...except for the ATM card part.
  7. Great news! Glad to hear everything went smoothly.
  8. Welcome to the board and congrats on your happiness. I'm filing CR-1 and CR-2 so there are differences in the process from your K1, K2 filing. That said there are some similarities too. From what I understand though, since the daughter is over 18, the K filing is the only way she will be able to accompany her mom the the USA. Others will correct me if this is wrong. There are others on the board that are doing what you are, so you will get good advice here. I didn't need to file a G325a for my daughter, but she is under 18, so not sure about that. If you paid an agency to be introduced, you may have some IMBRA (International Marriage Broker) issues, again not sure what they might be, I'm just trying to identify areas you may need to address over the course of your visa journey. The CCP family member is not an issue, I think every family in China probably has some members. Like Dan said, only an issue if your fiance was a membber and that has been overcome many times. Your initial filing is with USCIS, so the consulate won't have muuch info regarding that, again like Dan said, you'll only deal with the consulate at the interview stage. Good luck and keep reading, it's only just begun.
  9. Sounds like it was almost painless. Congratulations!!!!
  10. Congratulations!!!! but I'm sure there will be plenty of other reasons for her to reach for the mop from time to time.
  11. Good luck!!! I'm sure you'll get the pink. Let us know. Enjoy your trip.
  12. I watched this on HBO a few months ago. It was very sad to see that in most cases the parents lost their only child. According to the documentary, due to poor construction, many schools were completely destroyed in the quake and often several hundred children or more lost their lives at each school.
  13. Good luck. Hope POE goes smoothly for her. Bring her home safe and sound. Give us an update when you get settled. Welcome to the USA Na!!!
  14. Sounds like your trip is off to a great start already. Glad to hear it. Hope your whole trip is awesome.
  15. Glad to hear everything went smoothly. Welcome back to the USA.
  16. You're about to begin one of the great adventures of your life. Soak it up like a sponge, the people, the culture, the food, the beer (piju, not to be confused with pigu..) Have a fantastic time...take lots of pics and give us the rundown when you get back.
  17. Very cool. Bet you can hadly wait. Enjoy every second of it. Tell her welcome to the USA. Give us an update after you guys get her settled in.
  18. More than likely it will be the choice of agent form.
  19. I agree with everything Dennis said and I live in LA too. It can be really confusing for travellers. I think the easiest way is to meet her when she comes into the terminal after immigration, baggage and customs. All three of these are in one large area, first she will go through immigration, then nearby will collect her luggage from one of the carousels and lastly she will go through customs before entering into the main terminal area where arriving passengers can be met. From there you can go together to the domestic flights terminal by airport shuttle. One important thing to remember is that all arriving flights are on the lower level of the terminal and all departing flights are on the upper level of the terminal. Using the airport shuttle will save you a lot of hassle, just tell the driver which airline you are on and he will drop you off right in front of the terminal at that airline. Good luck and safe trip for you both.
