Rak All I had to do was take the time to show/explain to my wife what each bottle was use for. A few times she ask me which bottle to use for what We always do home chores together so there has never been any problem Our Chinese ladies are a lot smarter than we think In fact I have screwed up more cloths when washing that she has! I still have not heard the end of it and she has banned me from washing cloths.

Jim the wifey and I did almost the same thing. LOL. "water and sometimes cola with very little VO" But there was times when we had to drink from the bottle/bottles that was at that given table we was standing at. We had about 15 tables and we had to make the rounds a few times. Some folks was not happy with going around to each table just once. But we still walked away almost sober

This is one of the few times I will have to agree with SL! The price varies depending on what your "Wife, SO, wants." We also had a wedding in SH some of the prices posted sure seems to be on the light side. But those red envelopes took a big dent out of the bottom line. I wasn't so thrilled about having all those photos taken and having to change cloths a million times in one day... but hey the BOSS said I had no choice in this matter. The one beenfit of ITalkBb that is excellent is the phone number in China. I have called ITalkBB several times and I really feel that there customer service sucks!!! I even had the wifey call and talk to them in Chinese but, still they can't or want answer my questions. So I opt not to jack with them. I must be able to have incoming and out going faxes any time I need. As I work from home and faxes or a must And plus calling a local number is a pain in the behind, 90% of the time the local number your calling is always busy. We have a Chinese neighbor that has there service. I went to his home and tried his phone but was not impressed with what they have to offer. The line was not so clear on the three calls I made from his home "2 local calls and 1 long distance" a few times the line was busy but, when I dial the same number with my cell the line was not busy.. go figure!~! I feel they really need to take care of there customer service and have someone that can speak English and knows how to help someone when they call and ask for HELP. We may opt to have a second line just for the family to call us any time they need JMO Bobby....

My Lao Po loves those big thick towels also. On my second visit a few years ago, I took 3-4 of these type towels and left them in our home. With those small towels thin towels its just to hard to dry off completely Bobby....

I went with the "if they don't ask, don't tell" If they checked me so be it. They would either take them from me or make me pay. As the wifey wanted to bring back a lot of ChongQing spices, etc. Personal stuff is just that personal suff, we didn't declare anything all the new bed stuff, shoes, kitchen stuff, normal woman thingies Now with "meat, veggies and fruit" that is a NO NO. but thats JMO! others may disagree.."so be it" Good luck and hope y'all have a wonderful life together Bobby....

Hey Dan I AM NOT A SPECTACLE... As for your other point exactly how would one go about proving this house would be your primary domicile??? If they were formerly Chinese citizens then they probably also had Chinese ID cards. When we bought our places laopo was only asked for her ID card...not her hukou book (which we had with) or any other proof of citizenship like her passport. So are there holes in this law??? Does money perhaps talk??? Do monkeys swing from trees??? More later I'm sure... Hey Bobbit we've got problems right here in River City... I mean if us EXPERTS can't agree who are the troops going to go to for akurit advics... Here's the issue...From what I know, and what wifey tells me I know, and what the real estate people in China told her...A USC's name CANNOT appear on the title...Only Chinese need apply...So as your thingie is in Quotes I am ass-u-me-ng that you got it from another EXPERT... So what's the deal here??? Who's right??? Who's on first??? Roggit, when my wife tried to put my name on the property last July, they totally refused. Her name only on the property. Just what we were told in October...So is Bobbit out to lunch on this one or... Roggit as you know I'm not an EXPERT.... after all I'm a TEXAN.... I was told by the real estate folks in CQ, that since we are married and the wifey is Chinese a USC name could appear IF IT WAS PAID FOR. Maybe the real estate folks just said this, thinking I was you and thought I was loaded and could pay cash for the Condo. FROM AN EXPERT... Well you have an easy question and another which is a much larger can of worms. On the house thingie...only Chinese citizens can buy a house in China...of course if you have a trusted family member it can be in their name (nudge nudge wink wink)...that was one of the reasons we decided to buy now before laopo becomes a USC...On the question of retiring in China and differences between being a Chinese citizen or USC with all the other issues liike visas, etc, etc... We've had other threads about that around here somewhere...I'm not very good at finding stuff like that except for GOATS VS SHEEPES so perhaps one of the OTHER EXPERTS could reference it for you... THE EXPERT HAS SPOKEN... Stacato This is one of those "STRANGE" times I have to agree with Roggit. I must be losing my mind agreeing with Roggie Just get sis-in-law or bro-in-law to buy, a REAL TRUSTED person, etc. Now if your paying cash for this place like Roggit did.... since he is loaded "it can be in a Chinese citizens name and a USC name"

My understanding is that it will be an additional tax when the house is purchased not an annual tax. As far as size goes the Chinese guumint considers anything over 90 m2 as "LUXURY"... On our homes we have never paid any property taxes say like we do in the states only a small maintenance fee each month, or quarterly. "like for keeping the court yard clean stair ways, elevators, and to pay the guards out front, etc." But the Chinese government has been trying to pass a law if your home is over size or bigger than normal they want you to pay a tax on it. I don't recall the normal size.

Thanks! I guess I am trying to decide if it is more advantageous to go before my SO's interview vs during the week of her interview. I made two trips, the second was for the interview, and I did attend ACH. This all led to fours questions only for Loving Candle, one of which was "is your boyfriend still here?". I do feel that going for the interview and ACH makes a very good impression. Roggie "Remember what the expert said" Chinese don't buy other homes for retirement!! So I guess if your born in the county side you live there forever and die there. So I guess its fair to say that the wifeys family is stupid for buyin other homes/apartments/condos, dryer, and a flat screen, etc. Also its fair to say Roggie you and I are stupid for buyin more than one place for retirement in China........ Do you think we should have ask the experts first? We both know the day is coming that we will have to pay taxes on our over size apartment, condos... O well so be it JMO Bobby....
