From looking at your last post they will be interested in knowing where your income is from . I would give them everything I could in this stage of the game. If they desire to look at your income tax page by page so be it. You are fighting a situation dealing if you were paid to bring her here. Myself I would have both .....Transcripts from the government and copies of paperwork you sent in to IRS for the years desired.

Wild Swans ....another good read. Yan Has met someone here that was sent down for 10 years near the korean border. What a waste of talent. . They call this the lost generation. Because your wife went through this maybe some issues will come up while you are living together. Just be aware and open minded about some of her decisions. I know someone who was very poor in china while growing up and now her husband is well to do here in the states. She has a mindset that she may return to that time period. -
Location Listings?
lostinblue replied to steveandrong's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
When yan was in china she would use 001 and QQ To obtain a great deal of information on the immirgation process and life here in the US. Now that she is here she still uses that as a means to keep in touch with these members. One of the worries while within china is the fact that if someone found out that your wife, girlfriend , fiance ect(trying to be PC and not use the SO word that upsets some members )Is trying to come to this country they would tip over the apple cart on them . As shown in a recent post in dealing with retirement and government officials http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28017 This said yan is from ChengDu and has talked on occasion to and kept in touch with some members spouse from that city. The best way for you is maybe post that you live in a certain area and your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, fiance, lover,or (SO)lives in a certain city in china and see who you can hook up with. -
can communists take fiancee visa?
lostinblue replied to el1090's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
It would be hard to have her understand this but just walk away from the retirement. There is a lot we do not know about this post but sounds like a bribe and power trip to me. Some local official trying to make a few bucks. Let her enjoy a week with ma and get her on a plane. -
I believe that if they have not communicated much before this trip maybe a human translator for at least a day would be helpfull .Just to get some important structure into the relationship. Many issues could be discussed during this time that would help get things off on the right foot. Just have the woman hire maybe a student at a university . Yan said maybe $20-30/day depending on location.

My brother-inlaw in the past worked on some sensitive projects and he said that my girlfriend from china was not allowed to come to his home. We could eat out ect. that was fine. If they pushed it they would require a FBI check for her to go to his home if she passed check she could. One thing that was a concern was she has an engineering degree. Every situation would be different. As FBI is domestic and CIA is international I wonder if it would matter so much. Maybe how much clearance you would be get in the future. The inner workings of the FBI is so far beyond the scope of what us layman know it really is hard to give a reasonable answer. Good luck.

http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26262 Your denial in the past was for income . This has been clearly taken care of? Maybe you are still fighting this problem without knowing it. One thing they are keen on is your ability to sustain an income level. This method has been done before .They do not desire to give a visa but have little grounds for not doing so. As stated before a lack of english has not killed a visa if you show you can communicate. I myself think it still may be sustainable income on your part.

Relationships and money issues - East and West
lostinblue replied to yemmie's topic in Culture & Language Discussion
now that I have had more time to think about your post let me add some comments. If she has the ability to get an international business degree here in the US. A lot of doors would be open for her in this country. A man who was in my Chinese class a few years ago was married to a woman from china . She had no advanced learning in China due to the cultural revolution. She also studied international business here. and landed a job for a fortune 500 company. Now she travels between the US and China often . To have some one with a degree like that and who understands the political enviroment within a Chinese company is highly sought after here in the US. In China very few older people return to a university. Here it is not uncommon. I would stress to her that if she has the will to get through our degree process. she would be very employable.I have no doubt that the woman mentioned above is pulling a 6 figure paycheck. Would that be rich enough for your girl? -
Relationships and money issues - East and West
lostinblue replied to yemmie's topic in Culture & Language Discussion
This is from my wife yan. As you are not married yet you need to draw the line as far as spending money within china. As there maybe a bubble within the chinese market invest only the amount you would feel comfortable in losing, You are fully aware how much you need to support your lifestyle here. You sound like you handle money well. follow your head. Many people in China think america is paved with gold. This is her problem right now. When she arrives here she will understand better your financial situation. Yan brought some money with her and we have invested some of that on the hongkong market. Less than what she desired and we had our first major argument over this. As this was her money I felt I could not totaly say no to this investment. So we compromised. She is certain we can make money on this also. Wish us luck I am certain you will get more advice on your situation. -
whats mailer? Paper sheet that your current EAD card came attached to. Yan said all that came was the card ....no paper sheet. I was not home when she got the mail. What now if we need to renew? It's the card holder, the same as credit cards are sent in. Just send them a copy of front and back of the currunt EAD. WE can hope to have green card by then ......maybe They need the bar code. Once they cross reference the A #, they will know you are screwed in the FBI security check and issue a new card.

I understand this very well. Yan has been here 6 months and now she has EAD card. After she was here 3 months she really wanted to work. I myself would be very carefull about "skirting the law" as we all have heard stories about some one stealing a pack of gum and getting deported. Things will work out here but it just takes time .As you are from NY. Did you come in JFK and get temp EAD?

We are not talking about a child here from the post a few subject lines down. "Also my step daughter who is 18 speaks fluent english and is trying to help mom. Any ideas here would be helpful"Best would be to try to find a different place with enough bed rooms. Maybe if your wife does get a job in the future the extra income will help a great deal towards fixing this.

Here is a link http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-526instr.pdf I know a man who has done this .A big story was written about him in our city newspaper about 2 years ago. I read more about this a few months ago on the internet but where I do not know right now. This man is having a cattle sale this weekend and it is not the time to send him an e-mail. Maybe in a few weeks. -
All of the hours spent getting prepared were not a waste. To walk into the interview with confidence and show it to the VO makes all the difference. Good luck on your new life.

How about maybe a problem with learning http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyslexia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learning_disability This may have been mentioned before as I have not read every post.

With my ex girlfriend who lived in Toronto we were standing at a bus stop with no one near and I started to hold her hand . She was upset as a chinese man was across the street and she said he might laugh at her. She would then loose face.

Each case is different and this makes it hard to really understand why a blue slip is thrown out even though 125% level is met. My opinion would be work history. If you have changed jobs often in the past and it showed this by having multiple w-2's or are you working 3 fast food jobs a week to meet this 125% then maybe a question would be asked. Can and will you continue this preformance after your SO is here. This is in the minds of the VO's. Are you in a position to support this person after she or he arrives. Pure and simple.

I knowwwwwwwwwww what you mean Very nice avatar. Is that a painting of your wife????? Yes Yan sat for a professional while he was teaching at an art class my mother belongs to. He wishes to use her more in the future . Now that she has her EAD we shall see. She is so proud of it. I tease her often now about being a model.

LIB, what's your feeling towards this? For me personally, I'd be a little pissed. It's almost as if they're teasing you. We were told at the interview that EAD card is held up until after the interview. If AOS and FBI check was approved then no EAD would be sent. Pissed ....by now we realize this is how the government works. In my mind everything in our case went smooth. If you are not in a hurry. From interview in GUZ land to the one in Buffalo. This I am thankfull . Many of you members had and have at present time a far more difficult time than Yan and I. My heart goes out to you. In dealing with Buffalo interview we went with the kitchen sink and little was requested. Back during the IMBRA situation I talked to an immigration lawyer just on the phone.(no charge for a few IMBRA questions). As we had filed the papers to vermont already he mentioned that he could handle the AOS paperwork for us when the time came. For only $1500.00 . If we used him I would have been PISSED. as things went so smooth without him. .

Back about a year ago there was a poll about how much money we made..I am right towards the bottom.I recognize your concern. When I first started corresponding with yan .I laid it all out in my first letter to her. I am not rich but if we both work we can have a good life here.If you need a rich person move on to someone else. When I opened a joint account after she arrived and had her use the check book to pay the bills things clicked in her head and fast. Most chinese women are good at handling money and have a desire to work. She may suprise you. As stated before let her know what your cards are and do not suger coat too much. Send her a lot of photos of your home inside and out and of your neighborhood also .One thing I worked hard on is to pay off all my credit cards before she came. This freeded up some money after she came as I has no payments from them. Debt is a millstone around your neck to most chinese.
