  1. The Notation does have meaning, it tells employers that EAD is needed, Either the temp EAD 90 day stamp in passport, or EAD card from DHS (USCIS). An additional note on K-1, Can a K-1 work for the 90 days of the I-94 with out EAD stamp? This is a gray area. If you read the employment evidence requirements on form I-9 column A used by employers. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf If the employer is aware that K-1 is "Work Auth" they may employ, but some may not. File for EAD with AOS by including I-765 with the I-485, EAD costs no more when included with AOS filing. EAD code is (c )(9 ) Based on pending I-485. Soooo... If an employer hires my wife based on his acceptance of the I-94 as authorization, she can work until the I-94 expires. But when that expires, technically/legally she would have to quit work and cannot start again until the EAD arrives correct? Correct. Yu did this for the local public school on her I-94, and she was reemployed when she got her green-card. My sweet SO arrives Christmas morning at 7 am. I am going to fix her a Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings. Wednesday. we get the marriage license and purchase the wedding dress. Saturday at 1:30 pm we become husband and wife. I know we have a lifetime together but I am going to just enjoy the moment and spend some serious quality time with my new bride!!! The paperwork can wait! Time is so short that I plan to savor every moment with my beautiful wife.
  2. My sweet SO turned in the required paperwork on the 17th. We had to wait 2 agonizing days only to hear YOU ARE APPROVED!!!!!!!! Pink is such a wonderful color this time of year. My sweet SO will be by my side just in time for Christmas. I told Santa I would not ask for anything else if he would bring my SO to me in time for Christmas. Of course that doesn't mean my SO cant ask! Our journey together begins! I hope everyone in CFL land has a very merry Christmas and a Happy new Year!!!!
  3. They are asking for a complete set of tax returns. To be included are w-2's, 1099 and all schedules. I can get the w-2's from my emploeyer. I gave them tax transcripts form the IRS before. Will the transcripts work here or am I going to have to buy the other set for $39.00 a year? Thanks In advance.
  4. First: congratulations for all those who received the coveted pink. We didn't fair as well. The interview started out ok. How did we meet then asked for the financials. Then he asked for our emails. In the early part of our relationship, I had a coworker translate my emails for me. We have a plant here in China, and the person I used worked for us as a translator. The VO wanted to know who this person was. My SO told him that the person was my co-worker. He did not like the answer and stopped the interview and gave her a blue slip. The translator now has to provide a letter explaining their involvement in our relationship! Not a big deal. Then he wants my tax returns from 2003 to 2005. He already has my returns from 2004 to 2006. Redundent? I have to provide a evolution letter.(which my SO had with her but was not asked to produce) I also need another letter detailing my trips to China who arranged and who paid for them. And Last but not least I need to provide my exes address and ssn which was present but not asked for. None of these are that difficult to obtain. Obviously the VO thinks the translator set the whole relationship up. We have been together for almost three years.!However since I met my SO in another town and she did not meet the translator until six weeks later, It would be very difficult for the translator to achieve this feat. Our interview was the 14th and we have already scheduled our overcome interview for dec 17th at 2 pm. I could of had the second interview sooner if not for the taxes. Hopefully he will be in the Christmas spirit and I can get my SO home in time for Christmas. I felt really really sad when my SO asked if she would be home with me by Christmas.
  5. good luck to everyone and plan for the worse so it dose not happen. Hey George, when icalled my Ping, Xiao Ping she quckly told me only one Xiao Ping in China - Deng Xiao Ping. Thanks Tsap for the encouraging words. MY SO'S interview is November 14th. I fly to Beijing on the 9th and we fly to Guangzhou on the 12th. We will be staying at tianyu garden for the week. BTW I think the color pink is a very good color for this time of year!
  6. Way to go Gordon!!! Congratulations
  7. Same here Gino, no news with DOS. Her P-3 was logged in on Sept 26th. It took 22 days for me to receive the interview date. I was surprised that it is on the 14th. I thought it might be later. I AM NOT COMPLAINING!! I hope you receive your interview date very soon!!
  8. Hi Spacebar, I was raised in a small town north of Chicago. The town is called Libertyville. I lived there until my senior year of high school. I now live in Portland, Oregon. You will receive the pink and be able to bring your SO to America. I will be there for my so's interview.
  9. Hello Everybody!! I called DOS this morning and they gave me an interview date! The date is November 14. I won't be able to sleep until then. I have so much to do I was raised in Chicago on the north side. I am partial to the Cubbies. Most of my paperwork is done including my pictures. I will be packing light so I can bring her clothes and other stuff home with me. Now where is my Cubs jersey?
  10. I just called Dos and they told me that Amy was elligible for the interview!!! She told me I should receive a date very soon. is Guangzhou going to be closed Thursday and Friday or just thru Wednesday? They will be closed Monday for Columbus Day. I am not to far behind you. I am hoping for a November interview date. I would love to have Amy home for Thanksgiving!!! Our timeline: Feb 13th mailed I-129F May 18th received approval June 11th sent to Guangzhou August 8th P-3 mailed to Amy Sept 14th P-3 mailed back to Guangzhou Sept 26th logged in and elligible for interview!!!
  11. According to the telegrams from the DOS to the Consulates, you are correct Mike. And you are correct in stating that the petition should not be put in a black hole. It is STILL there today. I had beat this dead horse until I had no more fight left in me. I know others in my same situation. We will see how my CR1 progresses because all of the summary points I gave in my OP are null and void now that's for sure. Hi 747, Just a quick question. Did you get married in Hong Kong?
  12. Hi 747, Sorry to hear of your long delay in bringing your SO to America. I believe the phrase is:The patience of JOBE! I am in a similar situation. I have been married three times and met my SO in China before my divorce was final. (We met in April of 2005) In fact When my ex found out she delayed the signing for more than a year. (I think she was mad.) Another factor is our age difference. Those are the two items I am concentrating on for the interview. When we meet a woman that completely changes our life, We do any and everythingfor that woman. It breaks our heart when there is a delay or something in the process that makes the love of our life sad! I saw a quote that I think is appropiate for times like this. "Why did GOD allow us to meet and fall in love if we were not meant to be together!" Take care Chris
  13. I called the State Dept. this morning and was told there was a backlog of cases. They were allowing three months from the time of the e-mail application was sent ot Guangzhou to the time Guz actually opens the file. Congratulations on your P-3!!!
  14. Thanks credzba for your wishes of our success. Please be assured that we all here have the same jealousy of all who are ahead of us also. Although let me correct you, this may help eliminate some of your jealousy, it has been 4 months roughly not 3, for most of us for NVC out. We all wish you the same success on your visa endeavor also. It is only a matter of time. Good luck! Clayton I think we all have good wishes for all because we share something so important and life-changing. I truly do enjoy hearing about the successes and can not thank you enough for your insight and words of encouragement (and expertise!). By the way, I filed on February 26th, so I'm at 5 months without hardcopy of NVC yet! My file was sent from the NVC on June 11th to Guangzhou. I still have not received the hard copy yet. I ask the lady I talked to when I checked my status of the K-1, about the letter. She told me not to worry, that the file was in GUZ. She sounded like it was no big deal.
