Try to call DOS. From looking at your time line I see that your file was sent to GUZ on 10/10. Well, it hasn't been picked up by the consulate yet. Lately it's been taking them around 10 weeks to pick it up from DHL.

Congrats!!! you're almost there! It's good to see that they picked up a late August shipment from NVC (From looking at your time line, yours was sent on 8/29). It gives the rest of us some hope that things are moving again.

Watched 2 games last night. Chicago beat Miami on the road and are looking pretty good. Ben Wallace makes the difference, (Orlando watch out tonight!). Miami looked tired. well, it's only one game. Then, my Lakers, beat Phoenix without Kobe (Maybe they should keep him on the bench for a while?..) Lamar was awesome with careet high 34 points, and Bynum looked promissing with 18. Hi, Stacoto, you said your pertition was sent on August 10. May I ask what type of visa are you waiting for? CR type or K type? My petition is for CR1, and it was sent to GUZ on 9/21

Are we witnessing a big bottleneck at GUZ?. Petitions that were sent on August 10 and later had not been picked up by the consulate. This means that some petitions are approaching the 3 month point at being in transfer. That is 3 (Three months!!). I really hope that something will get moving there and quickly!!!

Is anyone held accountable for these petitions? NVC? DHL? the consulate? how can they just lose a petition like that is beyond me.

Did you call DOS? I think NVC should have a tracking number for your package. If I was you I'd start calling NVC and/or DOS and demand that they locate the petition. Good luck!! Does anyone know if they keep petition copies at NVC? For cases like this where it may have been lost.

Paula, if this was me, I would call DOS again, and tell them that you were talking to this woman at that time (I read here that there are only a few of them answering the phones) and if they are nice, they might try to help you find this woman. Don't be shy and tell them that she sounded older and may be a black woman, I'm sure they will help you. Anyway it seems like you are getting closer to getting your visa. Good luck!

I agree that being pro active in this matter is positive and better then doing nothing, however I am under the impression, and I may be wrong , that This is a strictly a political issue. I think the higher ups in Washington, I mean the big guns that dictate foreign policy, are standing behind this. It (Visas) is probably being used as another pressuring tool on China. All you have to do is look at other countries that are on better terms with The US (England for example) and realize that funds are being allocated to these embassies with no problem.

I've read of some that were divorced for a long time, yet they were asked to bring proof of the Ex's residence, and some that were divorced for a very short time before the engagement/marriage to the beneficiary, and were not questioned at all. Me thinks that one's financial situation has a lot to do with it.
