  1. You can try to run a check on one of the internet search services. Will cost a little money but is worth it. Here is one, there are many more http://www.citizendata.com/birthday.htm
  2. David, thanks for the hard work. Any idea as how to translate the Chinese 001 interview comments to English?
  3. Believe me I asked all the right questions. I've written down all the questions from our board. As of yesterday , the last 2 operators the I spoke to said : The file is 'loaded' .it is electronically loaded into the computer. No, they (GUZ) haven't opened it up. 'I am looking at the consulate computer' - 'that's all we can see here'. 'No we can't look at the consulate's computer'. Then where is 'eligible for interview' coming from? 'It comes from the system'. 'It comes from the consulate.''Everyone is eligible for interview' ''Eligible for interview means that all the documents are in order' . The only persistent answer that I'm getting is that there is no name check pending - Everyone told me that. The last 2 operators told me that GUZ did not enter the file into their computer yet. 5 days ago I was told that it was in the consulate's computer. Me -If the consulate have not received the file yet, then how com,e I was told that my file was last modified on 11/16. Her - what? we have a lot of new trainees now' 'they told you information they shouldn't have'. Her - 'even if the file is in transit, stuff is always being done on the petition.' 'The work always continues These are a few examples of the different answers that I'm getting from different operators, on the same day . And I'm asking all of them the same questions: Has the consulate entered the file into their computer?. Is there a name check pending? Does the consulate have the physical file? what does eligible for interview mean? Now what conclusion can I come to from all these differenet answers? NADA Oh ye and they all agree that I am in queue for an interview date....
  4. Not only tracking is a big waste of time, but don't believe everything you hear from the nice operators at DOS They can be very misleading. I was given 4 (Four) different stories in regards to my case, and I am so confused now, that I am going to wait at least 1 more month before I call them again.
  5. Charles what's the status with your case now? any news from USCIS? you know once you're done with them you can speed by NVC with the short cuts, so that would be a big milestone to be done with them No status yet... I plan to use the shortcuts... I hope to get a response soon. Someone I know filed after me and they already got a RFE, yesterday to be exact... i have not gotten anythiing as of yet... hopefully soooon, I'm starting to lose my cool No reason to lose your cool Charles, I haven't heard of anyone not getting approved by the USCIS. Yours may take a little longer because of the previous marriage, but that's understandable. Hang in there. Actually the person I was referring to in the previous post had a similar situation as I and he got a RFE Well, him getting RFE only means that something in his petition was missing or needed clarifying. Don't sweat it, I'm sure you'll get the NOA2 soon
  6. I think you have a pretty good chance for your CR1 catching up. They will send it within the next week or so and then give it approx. 10 weeks to make it to GUZ. I am not sure if you should have waited with sending back the P3 or not, just to make sure , maybe others know better.

  9. Ron, at this stage of the game we need all the luck we can get Be nice if we can all be there at the same time
  10. Free, I would love to meet you in GUZ. I have your info and we'll be in touch
  11. Rock and roll. Scott, You got the same reply that I got 'Eligible for interview'. However I think you will get an interview date faster then me because of your K3 privileges Better get ready and good luck! Thanks Stacato - Hopefully we both get an interview soon Are you planning on being in GUZ for the interview? Scott, yes I am planning to go for the interview. I only wish I knew when it would be. A lot of work here in my business and I have to plan ahead. I am assuming 3-4 month from now with anything sooner a sweet surprise ..are you planing to go?

  13. Yes, I do have a letter from my employer from where i work now!! It states what dnoblett says I'm not self employed. Also by the time we do get our interview i will have already done my 2006 taxes and i will have that during the interview. As for six monthe of paystubs i will have to do some digging, I have them , But where in the mess of paper work, Well you know!!! I wouldn't worry about more than one recent pay stub. Generally they show year to date earnings. I would, however send that pay stub just before the interview or take it with you to the interview, and get a more up to date Employer Letter to take to the interview as well. It would be pretty strange to have a period of unemployment held against you, with two solid years of work more recent. Give them the tax returns and don't sweat 04. They're concerned about your current income and prospects for the future. I know that recently the rules have changed and that only one (most recent) year of tax return is required. Will that apply at the time of interview, even if a petition was filled before that rule went into effect? (Meaning: 3 years of tax returns were required for the I864, but now the new rule is in effect.)
  14. Ron, the DHL tracking is inaccurate at best. I was positive that my package was picked up on 11/24, however, yesterday DOS informed me that my file was modified by GUZ on 11/16. That means that my package was picked up way before 11/24, and there was no way for me to know about it, tracking or not. For all you know your package may be in the embassy right now and there is no way for you to know unless DOS tells you that it was touched.
  15. Hey Free, this is great news!! I am very happy for you! looks like today is a good day for us eh? Who knows maybe we'll have the interview at the same time. Anyway, it looks like you will get your P4 very soon. Good luck!
  16. I can only conclude that the loose lips of DOS are.. well... let loose again... Wow! SO gonna be thrilled to hear that tonight!! thanks for clearing that up David.
  17. Ok, well at least you've verified with two agents that she's "eligible for interview". That's a good thing. Now you just wait a couple of weeks and see if indeed your SO receives the P3. If she does, then everything seems to be flowing for you very nicely. Lance, I am a CR1/2, so waiting for P4. That may take longer then K1. Yuan, yes you are right. This is what the second person at DOS told me. She said they will probably ask for another 'clearance' (her words). Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see
  18. My suggestion, call back again and talk with another agent. See if they say the same thing. Ask specifically if your case file is in the LOADED or OPEN stage. I just called and a different lady at DOS told me the same thing ' eligible for interview'. When I asked about the name check she said that GUZ usually requests another 'clearance'. She said that GUZ is the only embassy that does it.
  19. Called DOS today. The lady told me that my file hasn't been opened , and name check was not started, but then she said that 'Your wife is eligible for interview. Say what?? I asked her how is that possible, the file was not on the embassy's computer and name check was not done. She said that sometimes the embassy makes 'provisions' to accommodate people that have been waiting for a long time, and in light of the recent delays and backlogs this is probably the case. She said that my file was sent to the embassy in September and that is a long time. Does anyone know what 'Eligible for interview' means? does that mean that we will get an interview date soon? Is it at all possible to not go through a name check? Thanks
  20. Thank you very much mama bear!!! OH! is the DS-230 Packet 3? Yes, that is the CR1 packet 3. remember, you only fill out DS 230 part 1. Part 2 will come with packet 4.
  21. Hankster, congratulations on getting the P3, here is the faq on that http://candleforlove.com/FAQ/CFL_FAQ_P3_Final1.htm
  22. I agree. Rings may be more expensive in China, but on the plus side, size will not be an issue, and your SO will get to pick the ring she likes.
