  1. Di9fferent number of scan lines, and different update frequency. A PAL format video must be converted to appear correctly on an NTSC TV. Most DVD players these days do this.
  2. Yes - almost every Chinese DVD I have is Region 0 (region free) and can be played on any player. The VCD's don't have the region encoding. Most of the Japanese or Chinese made players will play those, but the American players may not.
  3. He will simply re-submit with the correct fee and/or G325A. Only time has been lost.
  4. I don't think they're going to know anymore than what you saw on the website, but it can't hurt to try. When you get your package back, that'll tell you everything you need to know.I think we have seen this for things like incorrect fees.
  5. Everyone does - I counted at least 13 other boats that I could see at the same time - VERY heavy traffic.
  6. Unless you are in some sort of apartment where you don't have an exclusive use area you can use to point your dish from, this is not true. No homeowners association AKA asshole association can prevent anyone from having a dish up to 1 meter in diameter. Don't let someone railroad you. FCC Fact Sheet I really don't know how anyone could stand to watch CCTV much, but CCTV 4 & 9, and several other Mandarin language channels, mostly from Taiwan, are available totally free, they are not encrypted at all, anyone with a free to air receiver and a dish of 30" minimum size can watch them. You also need a clear view (no trees, buildings, or other obstructions) to the south.
  7. I think it's one vote per internet connection - apparently they're tracking the IP address at their server. We couldn't even vote on another computer. Thanks, Ping, Lee and Randy. You've got an interesting observation. My husband was planning to go back to his school tomorrow to get some votes from school friends. Well, if they all get online through the school's wireless connection, only one of them can vote? We actually haven't tried at home yet, to vote from different computers sharing the same wireless router. Yes they may find that to be the case. If their IP is a local number like 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x, then the IP used at the other end would be that of the internet gateway for the school (i.e., a single IP address).
  8. I think it's one vote per internet connection - apparently they're tracking the IP address at their server. We couldn't even vote on another computer.
  9. Thank you. Actually am just looking to print all of "in" and "out" folders showing "from", "subject" and "received date" (like as a list or "log") Outlook does this, also
  10. I imported my emails into Microsoft Outlook from Outlook Express. Outlook has a feature where you can print multiple emails by selecting them from the folder listing.
  11. Ang Lee has low expectations for new spy thriller Lust, Caution in the U.S. market a trailer, showing release date Sept 28, 2007
  12. Another thing that I don't think I've seen mentioned here is that the EAD card would be your first picture ID issued by the Federal government. It's a little more important than some people seem to give it credit for, unless you're fortunate enough to get the green card within the 90 days.
  13. You can check here for showtimes into November, but I couldn't find any for Houston. Jiaying wants to see it, too.
  14. This from the TEC website - it is a tax paid by employers - anyone with a work history may be entitled to benefits.
  15. What they may find out is that it's not a "means-tested" benefit, since it's awarded to people of all income levels, but that a lack of work history may limit her benefits.
  16. Yes - he may very well find out they are entitled to benefits.
  17. I believe they're still married, and that the state administers the unemployment. However, you may wish to look into what documentation is required. Drop by the local office, or go to their website (in Texas, it's the Texas Employment Commission).
  18. LIB, what's your feeling towards this? For me personally, I'd be a little pissed. It's almost as if they're teasing you. Hello - the EAD card may be the only way she gets to work for up to 2 or 3 years, depending on the FBI check. If they had to pay extra for it (filing before the fee increase), it's very valuable insurance.
  19. When I was first looking for someone, I was under the impression that most of this was fairly common knowledge. I would give her a few points for being aware, and question her further.
  20. The consulate has the final say as to whether she gets the visa or not.
  21. You need to supply the evidence requested, even though it was not needed at the original interview (they were K3). If they suspect a possibility of fraud, they can request additional evidence.
  22. When you don't want Don (or any other web site you visit) to know who you are, use a proxy server. A list of proxy servers is available at Public Proxy Servers. All you need to do is click on (in your web browser) 'Tools', 'Options', 'Network', 'Settings' and enter the IP address and port # of the proxy server. This proxy server will relay messages from your web browser to the internet (and back). It will appear to the web site that the connection is coming from the proxy. Your actual IP address will not be available to the web site.
