Immigrant Paperwork Backs Up At DHS
artmill4 replied to Jing Quan's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I was wondering if people were noticeing this. I so feel for you guys getting wife's to the U.S. My journey started three years ago and it so so worth the effort. Stay the course. -
I understand that CFL is the best place for support during that crazy period when one spouse is in the U.S. and the other in China. That was an absolutely crazy period for anyone who has done the journey. Those who are still in the I-129 or I-130 or do I file K-3 or K-4 stage my heart felt thoughts are with you. I just stopped by to tell those who are still around my wife got her 10 year green card yesterday. So from the time of filing the I-130 to green card in hand was 5-9-2005 to 12-27-2006. I sent emails to everybody yesterday. What a relief. NO more questions. No more fees. No more what ifs. For those of you who are new, this is the best place you can be. I credit the free help with making life much easier. My only advise would be ¡°Move a muscle and change a thought¡± I sat around and thought of all the things that could go wrong. Made myself crazy. All my best to the monitors and those that give so much to the site. Smiles Gene and Ling.

Welcome to CFL. It is a great place if you have interest in the process of immigration from China to America. -
Good for you. I admire you willingness to continue. I'm refering to your time line length.

While I understand your desire to demonstrate your relationship and love for each other you need to remember that the USCIS really doesn't care how strong your relationship is or that you are in love when you file the petition. Not that they are so hard hearted, but that has little to do with the visa process in their minds at this stage. They are taking your word for it that you intend to marry when she arrives and that meets the requirements of the law. They have asked you to prove you have met, in our case this was a single sheet with 2 captioned pictures, boarding passes and a brief statement. I have seen recommendations that you send pre-filling evidence of a relationship before, but have not really seen anything that provides you a better place in line for the process or even the guarantee of a successful interview by doing this. Remember someone is required to look at everything you provide and if it's too much they may just set it on the corner of their desk to review when they have free time. The relationship proof will be required to be shown at the interview. 233295 True. One of the immigration attorneys who posts on another site has made it on tours of most of the processing facilities. He has commented that everything submitted must be looked before a NOA-2 can be issued. My rule of thumb........ Make it easy for them to say YES! 233516 Make it easy for them to say YES! Perfect. By the way........Welcome to CFL. Great place if you have interest in immigration from China.

For whatever my two cents are worth......here it is. I would suggest not calling anyone or writing anyone. Let the powers that be tell you what you have.............married or divorced and/or both. Guessing at this point would be dangerious I think.

Is it normal to feel so frustrated?
artmill4 replied to woainilin's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Hi Steve: Thanks for the reply. Perhaps I didn't state my problem correctly. I understand his habbits, I also accept that I take care of most of our business. My frustration was more so because I am trying so desperately to get his papers done this weekend in time to mail them to him before he goes to GZ .. I guess I expected him to be more focused being as we have so much to do in such short time. He is always like this and this doesn't bother me at all .. I am fine with it .. It is only this weekend this bothers me .. so my question was is this part of the process as overwhelming for others and do they have similar reactions. But I will stop whining .. I am over it already :-) .. 231297 Your timeline shows you to be far along in the process. I remember those times, not so long ago, when my frustration was close to unbearable. I wonder if anyone really understands how hard the immigration process is when they first start. I certainly didn’t. You are doing great. -
Only 12 Hours til Interview
artmill4 replied to Frank_a's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Remember to explain to your wife what the first sentence says of Packet 4. “You now have a right to a visa.” Relax and you guys will be together in America very soon. -
Got a stack of them sitting around now for my wife and son. It's always better to have a few extras when you get to the US because the taxi ride to the Chinese Notary office gets significant from Somewhere, USA. 230689 I agree. More is better in this case, I think.

K1: No affidavit of support

Very bad advice. 229575 Tell the truth. There are many issues once you move to another country besides the money. Love is great but eating is more important. -
3rd Blue Slip!!!!!!
artmill4 replied to Li'sZhangfu's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I can certainly understand your being angry with the situation. After you get over being angry it will be time to go to work. I agree with what David was saying about getting information to show Guz who your wife is. I think it is impossible to prove that someone is not a terrorist. I mean to prove to someone who does not know you or your wife. I believe you can give Guz enough information for them to cover their ass. They are after all people just doing a job and they want to continue to work. So give them enough information to satisfy themselves. I think the answer is in China with your wife. You might want to help her think about all the people who can write a letter of reference for her. Doctors, teachers, policemen, and of course other family members are a few that come to mind. An explanation of the trip by different people would be great. I would encourage people to write about who your wife is and not write about what she is not. Are you sure this is the issue Guz is giving you a hard time about? I can remember times in the process of getting my wife here I had to remember to think smart. This is hard to do when a person is dealing with matters of the heart. All the best to you on your journey. Stay close to CFL. -
When Ling arrived there seemed to be so many things that needed to be done although I had done all I could think of before she arrived. I bring this up only because the county health department was very nice to deal with. They knew all the shots that were needed and when they needed to be given. There was no cost for any of the services. The Civil Surgeon did charge and did administer the last shot. I’ve read since Ling had the physical in Guangzhou in December 05 she didn’t need to go to the Civil Surgeon in March 06. It was done anyway.

Rude Immigration Employees
artmill4 replied to artmill4's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Thank you Frank. Now I'm sorry I posted this nonsense. -
I just returned from having my wife’s biometrics done and the people in this office were so rude. To think that these people represent the front of line of immigration to America is almost be on belief. A young man playing Mario Brothers continuously on the computer, making fun of Mexican’s diet and “old people just kill me.” I made the mistake of asking a question. I feel like I need to take a shower from just going in the immigration office. I have never had any face to face meetings with an American immigration office and I certainly would never never never recommend to anyone friend or foe to venture into this barren landscape. How in the world do people get jobs and keep jobs acting this way? If they were in the private sector they wouldn’t even be hired much less experience continuous employment. My wife told me this is how Immigration in Guangzhou is run also. Employees tell people hurry here and hurry there. I have new found respect for all the wives and husband who actually go into these offices. The incredible audacity and God complex these people have just made me want to throw up. Of course I kept my mouth shut. They have a service I need. I can remember encouraging others on CFL within the last month, “to give them what they want and try to smile doing it.” Do I ever apologize for being so lofty. This is a great place to vent and be heard. My wife just came asked me for a kiss and said, “No angry.” What a long strange trip of a journey I am on. I think I will go ride my bicycle and decide life is worth living in spite of American immigration. We left with our papers stamped and entered into the computer.

Which line should a K1 or K3 holder take?
artmill4 replied to SallyHon's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Yes. We came by O'Hare. There was no problem staying together and the line is on the far right if you were looking into the building. They did have a dog smell my oranges and took them of course. Good luck. -
