I don't think that is true. I have read otherwise from US govt websites. Why try to circumvent the rules. We brought over 10k in, declared it and had no problems whatsoever. Took 5 minutes to fill out the paperwork at US customs

I had no problem adding my step daughter to my policy at work. Only requirement is that I claim her as a dependent and she is under 21

Jenny and her daughter got their Green Card yesterday by mail. Only 12 days after the interview, It is fast indeed!!

My experience grade transcripts were helpful but not required immunization records were essential. If you don't have your little yellow book you will need to get shots before child can enroll. My step daughter couldn't speak any English when she started but took the bus on her own the first day. 4 months later she speaks quite well and her grades are near perfect

We had our AOS interview this morning. Not too many questions to her: have you had any problems with immigration or police since you arrived? [no] to me: do you still work at XXX company? [yes] Let me see your pictures Did you get a letter to do biometrics? [no] OK - go downstairs and have them done. You will get your green card in 3 weeks interview done. Looks like we will get the green card before the 1st anniversery of filing the 129. Our consolation prize for living in Buffalo!

B) Sorry for laughing...its just tooo familiar As to the subject at hand. We did not apply for EAD. I knew AOS interviews in Buffalo were fast and it would be a waste of money. Our 90 days ended yesterday and our interview is Dec 27th Better get to work David

Same here - had to read it. 174674[/snapback] My wife insisted I call and tell them we the letter said to ask for appointment but USCIS agent asked me to read the letter word for word. I couldn't fabricate it I've heard that they may do interview and bios in Buffalo office at the same time so we'll see in a couple of weeks

Well after lots of arguements we got a learners permit for Jenny today. The first clerk said she wasn't eligible since her K-1 expires in 3 days. But we waited in line for an hour anyway. The next clerk said she wasn't eligible. But I told them that since we were married that she has essentially a one year visa (before AOS must be filed). After much discussion amoung themselves they decided to look in their manual and lo and behold they discovered I was right and she was eligible. So she took the tests (in English) and got 100% !!!! We got back in line only to have the computers go down for 2 hours. When we got to the window again the clerk again emphatically stated she wasn't eligible. I had to to get the supervisor and convince them a third time. In the end, we won!! She drove home. Now the only hazard in Buffalo is not just snow

Don't think the clock started after biometrics. We got appt without any biometrics done yet.

Brought lots of cash. Declared it at customs and filled out a form. Simple and no questions asked

Never got any biometrics appointment. Looks like we will have to call despite what it says on the letter and website.

Got our appointment date for Dec 27. Could be 11 months from K-1 application until the end of the process. No appointment letter for fingerprints. Do we have to schedule?

I applied for a K1 9 days after my divorce was final. didn't cause a problem
