Zhenghong,

USA is not streets of gold. in many ways life is harder here than in China. Rob says takes many years to accept strange country.

There is much racism from whites in usa to chinese (not from mexicans or natives), little fun on streets and its country in decline in money/power/economy. One day mayybe we will all move to china. it is more simple,cheaper and more fun. less crazy. we married western men so live here now. just need to wait until they decide to move :blink:

moved to steside,hope you not care

Is this the official America bashing forum now??? :unsure:

Just want to get it right... :huh:

its about;

This forum is simply for all things about life in the US after the visa. For both the USC and the Chinese spouse, this is the place to relate, learn and share all things American.

hope this helps you :lol:

Hey wait a minute here... :lol: I wrote that intro and it wasn't for this forum... :lol:

As has been mentioned, news coverage has declined in the US for the past twenty years.

With multiple choices for people to get their news, many news sources have to be come more sensational to sell their product to the masses. Plus they have to tell the news quicker, since everyone has the attention span of a gnat these days. These factors contribute to news coverage that is superficial and mostly meaningless.

Don't take any one new source as a sole source of information. Reach out, and see what is said around the world, not just Washington, or Beijing!

There is a great song by Don Henley, it's called Dirty Laundry, and it's about news coverage.

You can read the lyrics here.

The most prophetic view of the news came from the Paddy Chayefsky/Sidney Lumet movie Network. A satire in it's day which became the chilling reality of today. If you haven't seen this movie you should ... just remember that news was read to you off of UPI & AP wires and whatever local news was. They'd show photos and some film during the broadcast. That was it. If someone had an opinion then the word "Editorial" would appear on the screen. No one presented themselves as having all of the answers and if a guest was on they were treated as such.
