tparrent
Dear Mr. Parrent: Mr. Andrew Simkin has asked us to respond to your e-mail of June 1requesting information about the fiancée visa application of Ms. WanLingChen, (Case number: XXXXXX). Let me assure you that we fullyunderstand that delays in visa issuance are seriously complicating the livesof applicants and of those who are waiting for their arrival. We regret that the services provided by the visa specialists in the VisaOffice's Public Inquiries Division did not meet with your expectations. Weappreciate your bringing this to our attention as it is our objective toprovide courteous and helpful service to all persons requesting consularassistance. Ms. Chen's case was delayed by required security-related vetting through aninteragency clearance process. We are happy to inform you that this processhas been completed and that the Department has now conveyed to the Consulatepermission to continue processing this case. The Consulate will contact Ms.Chen directly in the near future when it is able to schedule a visainterview appointment for her. Please note that the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou is currently handling avery large number of immigrant and fiancée visa cases. The State Departmentis committed to clearing this backlog in an expeditious process and hasalready taken many steps, including providing additional staff to Guangzhou,to help process these visa cases as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, mostof Guangzhou's resources are now devoted to processing and printing visasfor applicants who were interviewed and approved months ago. Processing ofnew cases has slowed as a result. Therefore, we ask for your continuedpatience in waiting for the Consulate's notification to Ms. Chen of herinterview appointment. We hope this information is helpful. Sincerely, Kathryn CabralChief Link to comment

tparrent
To those who are still waiting, I have no doubt that my clearance was NOT a random event. In the past week I really raised hell with everyone I could find. I also had a conversation with a reporter about the hunger strike and I think she may have called DOS with very uncomfortable questions. Raise hell if you want to get to heaven. Thanks to all of you who helped me behind the scenes as well as those who patiently listened to my rantings. Your day will come but ONLY IF YOU INSIST ON IT (or you happen to be blessed like ChinaRose) Link to comment
youmolide
so all we have to do is threaten to kill ourselves (preferably with a reporter nearby) and then our namecheck gets cleared ... Link to comment
youmolide
sorry .. didnt mean this as a criticism of you Mr. Parrent or you methods, just a criticism of the powers that be ... I happy for you, especially since our namecheck was submitted at the same time as you ... maybe your luck will rub off on us. M Link to comment

rocksplit
great! Congratulation! Happy for you... the tone of a well written letter must help (...not starting out with CA failed to answer my questions)! Well I am eating pizza and rice, noodles with veggies, chicken, fish, tofu, raw eggs with seaweed, prosciutto, hommus, taboule, baba ganoush, yoghurt, good bread, cheese, lots of fruit and even some Swiss chocolate.... Today I received a form from one of my senators contacted to grant authority required to intervene on my behalf with an expected response time of approximately 30 days by Dos or BCIS. Link to comment
