  1. Hi, I have been trying to schedule F-4 visa interview appointment for my sister on CGI website for quite a few days, but no success. I am very very frustrated. Does anyone know if there's specific days/times they would release the time slots? Any suggestions how I can catch a time slot before it's gone? Ideally I'd like to book first half of August. Many thanks.
  2. We just submitted the all-in-one document packet to NVC. Got the automatic email that this address is strictly for document submission. My wife filed I-130 for her son (IR-2, she is USC). The NVC State web site asks for 60 days to review submitted documents. Does any one have any idea how long we can expect before we get an answer? Is 60 days about right? Will it take longer? Has any one experienced shorter time? My wife is curious how long to expect?
  3. if your wife become citizen and she has parents or sibling still in china...and if she wants her parents/sibling to live with her....isn't it easier than if she was a green card holder? can someone with this experience chime in and let us know the process and the timeframe if their wife become citizen and want to bring her parent or sibling to the usa to live with them. from the process from beginning to end, how long on average did it took for you?
  4. I've been away for a while so maybe a kind admin person will point me in the right direction. Mei's brother arrived in Richmond 2 weeks ago. it took roughly 10 years for this one but not 100% sure. My question is how long should it take him to receive his green card and to which address here in the USA will it go?

  6. So Ai is now a citizen and she wants to give her children and grandchildren the same opportunity. We need separate I-130s for each family group. We will need all of the birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, and recent photos. But puzzled about the I-864. Do we submit now or when visa numbers become available in 10 to 12 years? Anyone been through this? We have two children and their spouses with three grandchildren.
  7. On the website I saw Additional Information of Visa Applicant Interview : My spouse and /or children were going to follow me to the United States after I immigrate. Can they accompany me instead? -- Yes,... I wonder what case can do that ?
  8. My spouse and/or children were going to follow me to the United States after I immigrate. Can they accompany me instead? - Yes, you may change your spouse’s and/or children's status from follow-to-join to accompanying by directly contacting the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your interview is scheduled. This may be done prior to your immigrant visa interview, and additional forms and documents may need to be provided. My questions about above: What 's that part for? Who is eligible to apply that ?
  9. My son will have immigrate interview soon (F2B) I wonder if he can bring his fiance as accompany to US.
  10. Hi everyone ..... long time no see. Question for someone who's done it! I want to apply for a green card for my mother inlaw ..... have the I-130 done, what other forms will i need? Anyone? Dave and Jing
  11. I just realized my step-son turns 21 this coming May. I was planning to file the I-130 in a few weeks for my wife only. He is half-way through his third year of university studies. We were not planning to include him right now for the purposes of immigration; we were planning on just getting my wife her green card. So, now I am faced with a situation. Do I have to include my step-son in the process? Or can he be left, as originally planned, in China, to finish his studies?
  12. Well...wife's daughter has her visa in hand!!!! I seriously never thought this would happen. Here's the question. On the visa it has IV Category as F22. Tried to find what this meant and all I can find is that it's basically an F2A applicant that got their visa. Anyone know what this means specifically? CSPA as we saw, did come into play. So many people, even experts (lawyers/congressional reps) said sorry there was no way it was going to help and that she'd be switched to the F2B. Her Priority Date was Dec. 6, 2010, her 21st bd was 1/16/2011 and when she went for the interview she had just turned 24. Documentation and staying on top of the situation (and the government process) was key in this case. Plus, all of you guys helped soooooo much. So our prayers were answered! THANK YOU GOD!!! and THANK YOU Candle for Love!! And also, persistance does pay off sometimes, even though at times it seems the barracades the government put in front of us are insurmountable. Remember...Jjí de sko!! Have a great day! Rosie and Ashley and Marc
  13. While wife is waiting for the green card, the baby is on the way. I know they have to apply a green card for the baby, my quesiton is : Can the mom and the baby come to U.S at the same time ?
  14. After more than 6 years waiting , we're getting there next year for F2B. I wonder what questions they usually ask the beneficiary, and if there is a consular in Beijing now. I went to Guangzhou many years ago.
  15. My wife would like her Sister to come and live in the U.S. I'm sure this can be done but I'm unsure how to get the ball rolling? Her sister is 57 and retired. I'm guess the wife and I would be the sponsors. Bubba
  16. My wife and I have been in America 6 years, and we, like many others, are concerned for our extended Chinese family with the pollution there. My wife does not want to become a citizen, at least not yet, but we would like to get our extended family applications for immigration in the queue. Is it a reasonable strategy to go ahead and apply for their immigration process, even though my wife is only a permanent resident, and then when she becomes a citizen will her family jump to their place in the citizenship family queue ? Would it be better if she became a citizen before applying? My niece is 12, I am thinking that if we applied now, and they made it over before she turned 21, she could come on their visa, otherwise she would have to get applied for by them, potentially many more years. Anyone thought this through, and have a good strategy?
  17. hi guys and gals, i have a question(s) that i like to ask, don't we all , to CFL from my brother-in-law in china and my nagging wife. players are: my brother-in-law is called A brother-in-law's wife is called B brother-in-law and wife's baby is called C facts are: A is married to B in china of 2011 and their baby C was born in china of 2012. A and B are not registered as husband and wife, meaning no marriage certificate. by the way, they have to pay a fine of 10000RMB, only in china. B's aunt in USA has filed immigration paper for B's family and is due for an interview this year. B's aunt has never added A and C to the immigration paper. my father-in-law asked B's father to add A and C to the immigration paper, but B's father said no and don't want to jeopardise their chances to USA; however, he did promised my father-in-law that A and C will be reunite with B once they are settle in USA and will file immigration paper. A, B and C are together right now. A is working. our questions: what should A's very first important step right now? what shoudl B do once she has settle in USA? what is the wait time, guess it will be years? wha is the best pratice or best approach to this problem? what would you do? we welcome all suggestions and comments, once again, i know i can count on the talented members in this forum. happy chinese new year
  18. Well don't forget my ex got arested for being stupid too. They threw her face first into the floor too. She pleaded guilty, even though no intent, and has finished her community service and all probation officers visits. I have no idea how it will afect her ability to become a citizen, because she has now adopted her neice and needs to get her a green card before what, 18? I find out later many Asians are having stupid arrests happen all the time. There is no realization by AUTHORITIES that they mean no harm like the rest. Asians NEED to wake up and run for public office and temper their police forces against Asians. But that isn't going to happen. Both cultures don't understand the other in those situations. Having said all that, it is complete BS what we have to live with these days in the USA. It is a police state and I get so tired of it. And if someone is here working in law enforcement I have no appologies, due mostly to traffic enforcement. I'm thinking all forms of radars should be outlawed. Then just maybe the right things will be patrolled. The Chinese Govt is nothing good, BUT the people are, and they get along with each other. Which brings up the other side of the coin, criminals. If we didn't have them, we wouldn't need the police.
  19. Hi - I've read several threads on applying for B-2 visas for family members. In our case, we'd like to invite my wife's brother and his family (wife & daughter) to come visit for a month. Can anyone with recent experience help us navigate this? Are B-2 visas for siblings difficult to get? Is there any way to make it easier / more likely? Any pointers would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
  20. I was asked and didn't know the answer so I'm turning to the experts ... once again. The question my wife and step daughter asked was, when they receive their green cards and become Permanent Legal Residents, what relatives (if any) can they sponsor to immigrate to the U.S. They also wanted to know if cousins were allowed and if not how could they immigrate to the U.S. if they wanted to come. I don't have a clue so any information would be appreciated!
  21. Sorry about the title - it must be a little confusing, and let me clarify: If an American has married a Chinese woman, what is the relation between the Chinese woman's unmarried children and the American? Adopted children and stepfather? Or else? This question has arisen because during the interview, an applicant is asked to provide evidence of his or her relationship with the petitioner or other applicants. What evidence does the applicant have to provide if his or her mother, the petitioner's new spouse is applying for a CR1 and he or she is applying for a CR2? If there is a relation of adoption between the applicant and the petitioner as mentioned above, does he or she have to submit documents like adoption certificates? If so, is there an age level, applicants older than which don't need to provide such documents? If not, or, if there is not such a relation, what evidence does the applicant have to provide? Evidence of his or her relationship with his or her natural mother - the petitioner's new spouse? Or evidence showing that he or she is getting on well with the petitioner - his or her mother's new spouse? Or both kinds are needed? Thanks a lot.
