  1. Our interview for my I-485(AOS) is next month. When we first submitted I-485 my husband was looking for a job so on his I-864 form everything was "None". Now we've both been working full time and our income is both equal and above the proverity line. We filed tax for last year too. My husband doesn't have the tax return for the last 3 years, because he's been traveling in the last 4 years and didn't start a serious job untill last July. So,in this case,do we need a co-sponsor?We appreciate any advice. Thanks!~
  2. YOU SHALL HAVE THE BEST LUCK IN THE WORLD!!! AND YOU TWO HAVE A SAFE JOURNY BACK HOME!!!
  3. Well, my husband is 18 years older than me,and a bit bold and grey haired, and also over-weight. And we met on a website. I moved to the States 8 months ago only because i couldn't stand being apart from him and he wasn't so crazy about living in China at all. Before he came back to the U.S, on his visit to my family,i gave my mom 2000yuan under his name only because he's been spending money that he brought to China during the 3 months visit with me and his budget became really tight. I spent all the money i saved from my job on the trip to my interview in Guangzhou as well as on half of the flight tix. I've been living with him and other 2 room-mates since i arrived--2 other guys that he's been living with in the past 4 years since he rented his own house out when he divorced his 2 ex.wife. I started working full-time 4 months ago shortly after my husband found a job. We've become closer and closer and our love grows stronger as everyday goes by. Right now my AOS is still pending but neither of us cares. When we go to bed together every night, the moment is true and treasure. I just have to say, sometimes shit happens but you should never doubt that true love exists among all humanbings-- when everything's right, there comes true love and there's nothing to do with how old you are or where you're from or if you both like rock&roll:-) Hope you find your own peace of mind and good luck to you and your wife! Happy new year to all CFL and 001 members!!!
  4. They update the processing dates once a month.Untill 3 days ago it was still showing "Oct. 15, 2003" so it looked like it was taking over 13 months. But the update on Dec. 17 is showing "March.15,2004" now. This looks much better even though they're still 9 months behind... If there's no delay hopefully i can hear something from them next March. Crossing my fingers...
  5. Well, it's been 5 months since i submitted my AOS(came in as K1). Nothing has happened since i got my finger-printed 4 months ago. The online status has been the same--we'll send you a letter when there's a decision...Balahbalahhhhh... My husband and i are wondering that when should we get concerned and try to get help from our congressman??I bet our case's still sitting waiting for its turn to get read on some dusty desk...:-( Any suggestion??THanks a lot!!
  6. Well, some of my husband's friends were worried about him when they first knew that he's in love with a Chinese girl. Their 1st question was:"Are you sure she's not just marring you for greencard?...What if she left you after the 2 years?..." They're being proctective and my husband understood ofcourse. He always answered:"Well, if she's just with me for the greencard then at least i can still get 2 years' loving life..." Now he always jokes:"You know what?Actually her family is richer than me so..." When my husband told me about these i always said to him:"Well,on the other side,my parents and friends are worried about that you're taking me to the U.S to put me work in some slave shop..." hehe, people are silly sometimes. We know that and we can care less:-)
  7. It's a ONE_SIDE story. Within 2 years of your marriage there's no way for her to get the green card if she devorced you. Don't you know that??So what's indeed that you're asking here??
  8. It's so sad to know that GZ has been doing this kinda rediculous things to people,to the people who're suffering from being apart from their lovers...That's horrible that GZ's gone so far playing their power. I'm so pissed!!! Well, what you can do right now is probably just to play along with them in this waiting game. Everything will be coming into place sooner or later as long as you and your MM are hands in hands together.
  9. Since you're from the same country and you both speak the same language,it doesn't matter if your wife spoke English at all or not. They just want to make sure that you two can communicate, that's all. In GZ at the interview you can choose to speak Chinese the whole time if your spouse is a Chinese... So i suggest that you probably don't need to worry about the language part at all. Take it easy and good luck eh!!
  10. Wow!!I thought myself was quite an sexually open-minded Chinese girl, but this girl's behavior was way beyond being open-minded----that's not how a "traditinal Chinese girl" behaves like. I don't think it's her friend that told her to do so either, just i do know that sex is the last thing we talk about in China between friends, no matter how close you are.Especially when you're a single girl who's never married. Anyways, my husband and i both think that you're probably just one of the 10 guys(if not more) that she's been working on. She wants to make men fall and then she can get money from them and even use them to get her out of China. But if i were her, behaving sexually wouldn't be the first choice. Forgive me for saying this, she's kinda stupid thinking showing her body would turn men on and make them fall in love with her, hehe, that sounds too much like the Thai "monthly wives" that i've known. They work on you to make you feel that they really like you and really care about you and all they want is to empty out your wallet.Well, their tricks are even more professional and smarter as at least they do know how to play men arround... I know i'm getting a little bit too far on this topic, but all i want to say is that if you don't wanna get hurt you'd better back off NOW!!She's far not worth you travelling all the way to China. One more thing, you said "I am one who generally is doubtful if somethng seems to good to be true..." I'm wondering from what point she makes you feel that she's the "something" that's too good to be true??Her knowledge? Her thinking? The common she has with you??Or it's just her being young and having a nice body??Think it over that what do you really think that's good in her, if there're more than 3 things that's good in her besides her body and those are what you really care about in the girl that you're looking for, maybe we're all wrong and then it's worth you booking a tix flying to her. Otherwise??You should know she's just one of those girls, who are too lazy to make their own money but always dream of getting everything they want from the men that they can fool. Good luck!~
  11. What??EAD on the day you file AOS??Wholly smokes!!! Congratulations to Bing!!! WOw...we've visited our local office here in Reno and we were told that we had to mail the package in so we did. Got notice from INS in 10 days and i had to make an appointment for fingerprint at the local office...Have no clue if i can get the EAD at the same day that i go get fingerprint but wow!!How lucky Bing is!!!Why the procedures in different area are so different??!!Hehe, just wish i had Bing's luck...
  12. You know what?Transfer everything that's under your name to someone else that you trust the most, like your family members or your closest friends.
  13. I'm confused. Heard from 001 that in most of the cases you don't need to get the vaccination done untill the interview. That means you don't need to submit the shot report while you apply for the AOS right? I didn't get the shots in China and we're planning to apply for AOS next month as we just got married. I'm wondering how can i find out if the CIS needs my vaccination to be done by the time we submit I-485 or we can take the shot report to the interview instead??Anyone knows??
  14. THanks a lot everyone! I have my SSN right now but just want to go to work as soon as possible but it seems that i'll have to wait to file everything together for the best...
  15. Hey guys!Rikk and i are getting married in a week. It'll take some time for us to prepare the whole I-485 package but i really want to work as soon as we get married.Already boring staying at home all day:-) So,my question is, as soon as we get married, can we apply for EAD right away before we apply for I-485??Or we HAVE TO apply for I-485 first?? Thanks for any advice.
  16. Congratulations!!! A new born baby's coming to town as well as the mommy and daddy:-) I was surprised to see that actually your Tai tai's from Changsha!I'm from the same province-Hunan,hehe,and my English name Diana has been followed me since i was 13. Surprised again to see your Tai tai's English name's as same as mine! I just got to the U.S on my k1 visa less than a month ago and so far i like it here a lot. Getting married in 2 weeks and hoping to get some advice from you during our process of the AOS:-) Good luck to you and your Tai tai!!
  17. Wow!!NOw my mind is much clear about the EAD thing. I think i'd better hold on till we get married then to file everything together. Thank you so much for your information guys!:-)
  18. Hey guys! Thanks to the help of all of you on CFL as well as the lovely ladies on 001, eventually i'm already in the U.S. Got here 2 weeks a go on my K1 visa. Got my SSN yesterday which only took 1 week from the day we went to our local SSA applied for it.Good start i think?! So, Rikk and i are plannning to get married next month. And i'm wonderring if i could apply for the work permit-EAD before we get married??And if i could apply for it now who/where should i contact?? Thanks for any advice!!
  19. My best advice is to call the hotel that you're going to stay. They can even fax you the map of how to get there. Good luck!
  20. WELCOME TO CHINA MAN!LOL. How smart you're for carrying all your own food over for these 2 months!!SHould have told Rikk to do the samething ealier when he's in China for 4 months,LOL... I agree with you.Don't think Carl should even consider another route right now. Carl and Bind are almost there and they're getting there soon as long as they provide whatever the consulate asks for. He'll be there with Bing and their love will overcome anything! Have a good time in China and enjoy your suitcase food!LOL
  21. Seems like you final destination is HKG right? Think i can provice some information here as Rikk has flue to HKG twice and i'd been working and living in SHenzhen for almost 2 years:-) So you're arriving in HKG at 10:25pm huh? The easiest way from HKG A/P to Shenzhen border is to take bus. There're lots of buses as well as bus ladies in front of the HKG A/P. They'll come up and try to drag you into their buses as soon as you step out from the arrival hall. Not sure if there're still buses running that late at night but one thing's for sure that the borders at both HKG and Shenzhen side open for 24 hours. So you can cross the border to get to Shenzhen at anytime in a day. There're tons of hotels in SHenzhen and probably you can even book a room online before you leave the U.S. There're 2 Shenzhen borders you can go to. One's called LuoHu,another's called HuangGang. MOst of the buses from the HKG A/P run to Huanggang. Bing will have no problem getting to Shenzhen the only thing she might need to get is a border pass, which's for mainlanders going into Shenzhen. It's only 5yuan and she just need to take her ID and 1 photo to the nearest police station. She can get the pass right away. Pls notice, the speed train going from HKG to the LuoHu border starts in downtown HKG instead of the A/P. I'm not sure how late this train runs till but you can do some research via google.com for sure. And there's another sort of speed-train takes you from A/P to downtown HKG.You can check that out too. For any further questions pls just ask.
  22. I'd been working and living in Shenzhen for nearly 2 years. Rikk had been there twice to visit me also...A shit city as we recall:-)
  23. SO,here i'm again. I'm not sure what to file when i apply for the AOS as soon as Rikk and i get married. CFL's always the best place to ask for help:-) Anyone knows what's the process with AOS for K1?Thanks a lot!
  24. Best wishes from Rikk and i!! She's gonna make it!!
