  1. I am always loving American culture. When I was in the college, my major was English Language and Literature, we had separate courses for British and American Literature. I liked the latter better because British Literature sounded more orthodox to me.(not saying I dont like British Literature) When someone after travelling to Europe complained to me there was no culture in States, I was quite upset, I wanted to told him there was plenty of culture there, just he did not find out yet. After I came here, I have beening fond of here more and more, this place really grows on me. There are so many things to be discovered, to be appreciated, and to be cherished here. My personality is more soft now, compared to the previous self-defensive one in Shanghai.(I had to be that way there.)
  2. But Da Bao is a famous skin care brand in China, we have a commerical: Da Bao, see you every day!
  3. Well, spoiled and poor-mannered kids, honking and rude driver, spitting, shoving and cutting line people, selfish guests is not part of our Chinese culture, it is a sign of how we are losing our cultural heritage, and that is sad thing. And the saddest part is that the parents just think how cute and outgoing their kids are, taking the public places as their own; most people who spitting, shoving, cutting lines, shouting, dont feel the shame.
  4. I really appreciate your positive attitude. And I fully understand it. A pre-nup would be a two-edge sword though, just a kind reminder. Some Chinese women minght think it an insult, cause in Chinese culture, a re-nup is not a good thing.(only in Chinese culture) In other forums, I have read posts about local Chinese couples got involved in pre-nup before marriage, and how worse the relationship it turned to be. My suggestion is that you explain the reason why you want a pre-nup to her, being open and positive, and that will help the mutual understanding. And the most important thing is to prepare a fair one: not one just pretect your interests, but a one also considering her financial stableness, and she would really appreciate that.
  5. We drink a lot of tea almost everyday. I like dragon's well(green tea), my husbany likes oolong tea. Tea are very healthy stuff.
  6. Congrats! Now enjoy the relax feeling...
  7. Jany, Wish you and your daughter a Merry Christmas!
  8. We ate omelet last night, maybe to much cheese, made my stomach very sick.
  9. Paula, Hope you get your name check stuffs done soon. I think your name check is done, according to DOS, but GZ still not update their system yet, sometimes DOS info is more updated than GZ,maybe you should wait one week and then try to email GZ or call GZ again. Good Luck.
  10. Tony, Thank you for the good wishes, in the past, my husband has mentioned about you, he says you are a very nice guy. He is very glad to see your post here today. It has been over one month since I came to the States, me and my husband are very comfortable with each other, I am very grateful to what God has offered to me.
  11. In about one month your wife will get an interview date.
  12. By the way admin review in NVC usually means the name check
  13. My K3 had been under admin process for over 14 month(dont want to discourage you guys), and there is nothing you can do except email NVC on a weekly basis. I think you have to wait certain time before a senator/congressman will help you.(admin process over 6 months is behind the normal time frame and then a senator/congressman will do the relevant inquiry)
  14. Your wife will have to go through another name check in GZ when GZ gets all the hardcopy of her case, this name checking is different from NVC admin processing.
  15. All the documents pertained to the outcome of the interview is screened by some other staff before the interview, if some obvious documents missing or not meeting the requirements, the pre-screening staff will put a blue slip directly----this is why we have to submit the docus prior to the interview.(30 mins is enough for the pre-screening process) And the VO is the final decision maker, I dont think they have time to go through all the docus before the interview. This is not an official answer, this is what I figured out by myself, correct me if I am wrong.
  16. After 3 weeks in the States, I got my green card in the mail yesterday, and its good for 10 years. Man, isnt it cool? No more paperwork, no more pending case, and no more freakin waiting.
  17. I checked you timeline, since you already got your P3, that means you have to inform GZ change of address by email and by fax as well, cause GZ email does not recognize Chinese characters. Otherwise GZ will send p4 to your old address.
  18. Thanks all for the CFL supports. Otherwise it would be a more tough process. Besides, I would specially thanks goneflying2000, he gave my husband the detailed tips on how to contact senator/congressman during the name checking blackhole. I think contacting the senator really helps my case. Sorry I kept my mouth zipped here for a long time( I even did not talk to my friends in real life, they are not happy with me), I am glad it is over. But I still feel the pain of the unbearably long process: CR1 security clearance=9 months, K3 securty clearance=14 month, I dont have a very common name, but my name can be same as some foreign names, there used to be a soccer player from Europe, he played soccer league in China years ago, his name is same pronounced as mine, and my classmate always made fun of me, I felt very embarrassed then.
  19. Jany, Every time I read your story tears come into my eye, and I dont know why, maybe the bad things happened to you make me suffer, maybe the horrible experience scare me, maybe you attitude towards a better life and all the efforts touch my heart, maybe all the love that CFL members give you move me deeply, and this time, I think its the tears happy for the ending of all your fears. Wish you find what you want to find in States, the nightmare has ended forever. Adele
  20. When we contact GZ checking our cases, sometime we will get the reply such as 'the case under administrative processing', what does that mean? Is every case has a administrative processing stage or only those who have a 'hit' in the security clearance need the administrative processing? Usually how long it will take? Thanks!
  21. According to 2005 lunar calendar, this year's Chinese V-day is Aug.11th.
