  1. Hi All, Does anyone know how my wife can get her Last Name changed on her China Passport to her now married name? This would make her travels to China easier. Last time she went she was held 3 times because her China passport shows her maiden name and Green Card shows married. Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  2. Hi Dan, Sorry for the late reply. Yes I do have a medical plan and she is on my plan. Just wondering if she can apply for Medicaid to take some of the burden off of me. Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  3. Hi Everyone, Not sure if this is the right area for this question. My Wife an I are expecting our first child. Right now she is a stay at home Wife and I'm the only income. She is a Permanent Resident of South Carolina and my question is my Wife able to apply for Medicaid for her Pregnancy? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  4. Hi, just a quick question. My wife is holding a greencard so is that all she needs to bring to the airport if we are just traveling within the states? Thanks, Vinny
  5. Hi everyone, Not sure if this is the right area for this topic. My wifes chinese passport still shows her maiden name and we want to change it so it matches the greencard. It also will help her traveling overseas because she was held at HK international airport because they said the name on the passport does not match her greencard. Anyone know how I can get this changed? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  6. Hi Everyone, Been awhile since I posted. My Wife will be coming back to USA this Saturday and hopefully have a stress free arrival. There is a Custom Declaration Form that she needs to complete. She doesn't know English aside from few basic words. I downloaded the form and currently editing it with her info so she can print it out and carry it with her to fill out what I put down. Her plane ticket was purchased using her maiden name as I was told here in the forums because her Chinese Passport. She does have Green Card with Married name. She has all documents and proof that we are married just in case the officer ask. When filling out the form, I assume she is using maiden name, Passport Issued by (Country) is CHINA and not the US Green Card. Country of Residence umm...USA?!, Countries Visited on this (CHINA). Everything else is straightforward. Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  7. Thanks Everyone! I'll print out that map and try to explain to her where everything is located. Yes I'm sure there will be lots of Chinese since most are going home for Chinese New Years. I'll be sure and have her ask for assistance. Thanks Vinny and Qing
  8. Hey Everyone, My Wife will traveling to China next week. I got her round trip plane tickets for 3 months stay. Tickets are under her maiden name since her China passport reflects that. She will bring China passport, Green Card with married name on it, and Wedding Certificate just in case. She will have one stop at Detroit, MI. When she gets off the plane she'll have basicly 50 minutes til next flight. I'm just concerned that she can't find the next gate. I am going to write down some basic english questions and then have her write down chinese beside it just in case she needs to ask someone for help. It would be nice if she can get some Chinese assistance. I'm sure others have had this experience before. Any other suggestions for a smoothe travel? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  9. Okay thanks guys for the clarification. So my wife's Chinese passport is in her maiden name and green card in married name. So do I book flight using name appearing on her chinese passport or greencard?? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  10. Hi Everyone! My Wife is going to travel to Mainland China for Chinese New Years and stay for about 3 months. She already has her 2 year Green Card and this will be first time out of the States since getting it. My question is the airline agency that we buy our plane tickets say she needs to apply for Hong Kong Visa but do not need a Visa for Mainland because she is still a Citizen of China. Would that be correct? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  11. Thank you very much Dan Da Man! Have a wonderful day!
  12. Very Nice. So After she gets her Permanent Resident Card what is the next step? Thanks All and Dan
  13. Hello Everyone, So a couple of weeks ago I received and RFE. They required an Official Marriage License. I sent that in the next day. Today I received another letter from USCIS stating Welcome To The United States for my Wife. It states that she will be receiving her Permanent Resident Card within next 2 weeks. So I assume this is the 2 year Green Card? We didn't even go to an Interview? Does this mean she can travel overseas? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  14. Yeah the court never sent one to us. They told us the license should be sufficient lol. I'll make a copy and submit it ASAP. Thanks DAN Da Man! Vinny and Qing
  15. Hey Everyone, Well..apparently I got an RFE from the AOS. Looks like one thing they required that I messed up. The wonderful Marriage Certificate. The office is unable to complete the processing of your application to register permanent residence or adjust status, (form-I-485). without additional information. Although we received your application, important information is missing. Specifically, the marriage certificate submitted with your application was not registered with the county, state, or civil authorities. Please read this entire notice and submit the information requested below. K1/MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE: You appear to be filing as a K1 nonimmigrant. Please submit a copy of your marriage certificate indicating that you have married your United States citizen fiance within 90 days of your admission into the United States as a K1 nonimmigrant. Ift the marriage occurred in the United States, the document must show that the marriage was registered or recorded with the county, state, or civil authorities. If they marriage occurred outside of the United States, the marriage certificate must be accompanied by a certified English translation if the document is in a language other than English. Well apparently I submitted the Marriage License. It shows our pastors signature, date of marriage, etc.. but they are right, there is no indication that is was received by the court. So I went to the court house, paid $5, and got another copy of our marriage license but this time there is a SEAL and it shows I do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of the original on file in this office. Given under my hand and seal of office this Sept. 20, 2010, then signed by Judge, Probate Court, and country we are in. Is this what Immigration needs? Will this be sufficient evidence? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  16. Thank you Yemmie! I tell my Wife she needs to try and focus learning as much as she can. She keeps saying it is so hard. It's like going back to kindergarten for her. I tell her she needs to know enough to get by. She has Rosetta Stone available, she has my smartphone with very good ESL programs she can learn. Think I am going to tell her your Story and maybe she will follow your Wife's footstep Vinny and Qing
  17. Hello All, My Wife would like to get her driver's license so I do not have to take her to grocery store everytime or just go shopping. Many States only offer English exams only. Looks like the State of SC is one of them. I've been told that no interpreters are allowed and no Chinese test available. Aside from having to put my Wife through kindergarten again, anyone have any thoughts on the best course of action? I can always have her mash buttons until she passes the knowledge test but then we still have the road test. Can she take her knowledge test in a State that offers Chinese then take road test back in South Carolina? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  18. Hello Everyone, Well got a letter from USCIS with Date set for Biometrics. Anything special we need to bring or do aside from what they are asking for in the letter? I assume this is not the Interview phase. Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  19. Hi again, Do I need 2 different G-325a's? One for my Wife and me? If I create a Cover letter am I to assume my Wife is the one writing the cover letter and she signs her name on the cover letter not me? Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  20. I'm sorry Dan or anyone else. I am just slow at this stuff. Did you say my Wife can sign her chinese signature on all the applications? What we are submitting are I-485, I-765, G-325A, I-864. I-485, G-325A gives you a change to Sign then Print Full Name. (Signature in Chinese? and Print Full Name in English?) I-765 only Signature (Signature in Chinese?) Thanks, Vinny and Qing
  21. Dan is the MAN! Thank you so much!!
